UN ALTRO PODIO PER ROMAIN FEBVRE IN GALIZIA
Romain Febvre del Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP si è avvicinato al ritmo della serie FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship con il suo quinto podio dell’anno a Lugo in Galizia, la provincia nord-occidentale della Spagna.
Il francese ha fatto un’ottima fuga nella prima manche per mantenere il leader in vista per tutta la gara per il secondo posto e si è unito con sicurezza al suo compagno di squadra KRT Jeremy Seewer in una Kawasaki 1-2 Holeshot nel primo tentativo di iniziare la seconda manche, solo per essere riportato indietro. in griglia alla fine del primo giro poiché la gara era stata segnalata con la bandiera rossa dopo che un paio di cancelli non erano caduti in modo netto. Alla ripartenza è partito nuovamente bene, quarto. Cedendo temporaneamente una posizione a metà gara, ha rapidamente riguadagnato il quarto posto assicurandosi il suo quinto podio GP della stagione in sei partenze e avvicinandosi di un punto al leader della serie mentre mantiene il terzo posto in una serrata rincorsa a punti e si dirige verso casa sua. GP a St Jean D’Angely, a poco più di un’ora a nord di Bordeaux, il prossimo fine settimana.
Romain Febvre: “Ho fatto una buona partenza nella prima manche per rimanere tre secondi dietro Jorge per molti giri e vedere cosa stava facendo. Pensavo di avere qualcosa per lui ma poi ho fatto un paio di errori e mi sono accontentato del secondo posto. Ho fatto dei buoni primi giri in Gara due, ma poi ho perso un po’ il ritmo e sono arrivato quarto. La pista era davvero complicata ed era facile commettere errori, quindi insieme alla squadra abbiamo deciso che l’obiettivo del fine settimana era quello. stai attento perché ieri ci sono già state alcune gravi cadute; questo è solo il sesto round e c’è ancora molta strada da fare, quindi sono davvero felice di finire di nuovo sul podio, sento di essere vicino alla vittoria grande lotta in ogni manche tra Jeremy, me e gli altri nei primi sei, quindi devo solo mettere tutto insieme; Fallo!”
Jeremy Seewer ha ottenuto due Kawasaki tra i primi sei, continuando ad avvicinarsi al podio mentre acquisisce sempre più familiarità con la sua KX450-SR nella sua prima stagione in Green. Lo svizzero ha convertito la partenza dal settimo posto in gara uno al quinto a metà manche con un paio di sorpassi impressionanti e due ore dopo ha ottenuto un netto vantaggio nel primo tentativo di partire in gara due, solo per sopportare il dolore di dover fare tutto ancora una volta perché la gara è stata segnalata con bandiera rossa dopo che un paio di cancelli non erano caduti in modo pulito. Sesto alla prima curva nella ripetizione, ha ceduto una posizione all’eventuale secondo classificato al terzo giro, ma ha mantenuto la sua determinazione a riconquistare il sesto posto a tre giri dalla fine. 5-6 manche hanno guadagnato il sesto posto assoluto nella giornata e mantiene quella classifica nella assoluta a punti della serie.
Jeremy Seewer: “Questo fine settimana è stato positivo sotto molti aspetti ma anche un po’ frustrante. Sembra che siamo in cinque o sei lassù in questo momento e il distacco dai primi non è molto; il grande divario è alle nostre spalle. avevo la velocità oggi, in particolare nella seconda manche, e ho la forma fisica, ma mi manca solo l’intensità nei primi giri. È stato un peccato per me che abbiano dovuto mettere la bandiera rossa nella seconda manche al primo tentativo Ho fatto l’holeshot; ho fatto tutto bene e sento che avrei fatto l’holeshot anche se tutte le porte fossero state pulite e anche la mia partenza nella ripetizione è stata buona, ma è difficile ripetere ogni volta una partenza così perfetta. Ovviamente è stato frustrante, ma è così. Restiamo positivi e andremo il prossimo fine settimana a St Jean. È una delle mie piste preferite e ho dei bei ricordi lì, sono arrivato secondo due anni fa, quindi vado con buone vibrazioni .”

ANOTHER PODIUM FOR ROMAIN FEBVRE IN GALICIA
Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre edged closer to the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship series pace-setter with his fifth podium of the year at Lugo in Galicia, the north-western province of Spain.
The Frenchman made an excellent getaway in the first moto to keep the leader in sight throughout the race for second and confidently joined his KRT teammate Jeremy Seewer in a Kawasaki 1-2 holeshot in the first attempt to start moto two, only to be brought back to the grid at the end of lap one as the race was red-flagged after a couple of gates had not fallen cleanly. On the re-start he again started well in fourth. Surrendering a position temporarily mid-race, he quickly regained fourth to secure his fifth GP podium of the season from six starts and edge a point closer to the series pace-setter as he retains third in a tight points-chase and heads to his home GP at St Jean D’Angely, just over an hour north of Bordeaux, next weekend.
Romain Febvre: “I took a good start in the first moto to stay three seconds behind Jorge for many laps and see what he was doing. I thought I had something for him but then I made a couple of mistakes and settled for second. I had a pretty good first few laps in race two but then I lost my rhythm a little to finish fourth. The track was really tricky and it was easy to make mistakes so we had decided together with the team that the goal for the weekend was to stay safe because there were already some big crashes yesterday; this is only the sixth round and there is a long way to go so I’m really pleased to finish on the podium again. I feel I am close to the victory. It’s always a big fight every moto between Jeremy, me and the others in the top-six so I just need to put everything together; a combination of starts, strategy, aggression when it is necessary and not making mistakes. Next weekend is my home GP so let’s go for it!”
Jeremy Seewer made it two Kawasakis in the top-six, continuing to move closer to the podium as he becomes ever-more acquainted with his KX450-SR in his first season in Green. The Swiss converted a seventh-placed start in race one to fifth mid-moto with a couple of impressive passes and two hours later took a clear holeshot in the first attempt to start race two, only to endure the heartbreak of having to do it all again as the race was red-flagged after a couple of gates had not fallen cleanly. Sixth through turn one on the re-run he surrendered a position to the hard-charging eventual runner-up on lap three but maintained his resolve to regain sixth three laps from the end. 5-6 motos earnt sixth overall on the day and he retains that ranking in the series points-standings.
Jeremy Seewer: “This weekend was positive in many ways but also a little frustrating. It seems like there are five or six of us up there at the moment and the gap to the front is not far; the big gap is behind us. I had the speed today, particularly in the second moto, and I have the fitness but I am just missing the intensity in the first few laps. It was a shame for me that they had to red-flag the second moto at the first attempt as I had the holeshot; I got everything right and I feel I would have holeshot even if every gate had fallen clean. I stayed calm and my start on the re-run was also good but it’s hard to repeat such a perfect start every time. Of course that was frustrating but that’s how it is. We stay positive and we go next weekend to St Jean. It’s one of my favourite tracks ands I have good memories from there; I finished second there two years ago so I go with good vibes.”
