Justin Barcia di Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing non si allineerà all’Unadilla MX National di questo sabato dopo aver subito un grave incidente durante la recente pausa dalle corse. Anche il suo compagno di squadra della 250MX, Michael Mosiman, ha subito un incidente di prova durante il tempo libero e si unirà a Barcia a bordo campo per il prossimo round del campionato AMA Pro Motocross a New York.
Barcia, vincitore assoluto del Round 6 nella classe 450MX, ha subito un incidente piuttosto grave la scorsa settimana durante una sessione di prove di routine. Dopo essersi consultato con il suo medico, il nativo di New York si prenderà il resto di questa settimana prima di rivalutare le gare future.
Justin Barcia: Sono decisamente deluso di dire che non andrò a Unadilla questo fine settimana – sono un ragazzo di New York ed è una delle mie gare preferite – ma voglio assicurarmi di andare lì per vincere e se non sono in grado di farlo, devo prendermi il mio tempo e tornare al 100%. Mi mancherà sicuramente tutta la squadra lì, tutti i fan che mi sostengono e, naturalmente, essere al cancello e correre per quelle vittorie, ma vedrò tutti molto presto.
Per quanto riguarda Mosiman, il leader della classe 250MX ha subito un incidente di prova separato questa settimana mentre si preparava per l’imminente Unadilla National. Nonostante sia piuttosto sconvolto, Mosiman ha grandi speranze di tornare a correre a Budds Creek per il Round 9.
Michael Mosiman: Sono super dispiaciuto di non poter correre con Unadilla, non vedevo l’ora e mi sentivo davvero bene. Sento di avere un sacco di slancio alle mie spalle in questo momento, ma mi prenderò il tempo per guarire al 100% e avere ragione in modo da poter correre in testa al gruppo. Ho già perso una gara e sono fuori per il campionato, quindi è meglio per me correre al 100% piuttosto che andare a cercare di recuperare. Torneremo più forti speriamo molto presto.
Il compagno di squadra Pierce Brown rappresenterà la squadra Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing nella classe 250MX questo fine settimana a New York, dove punta ad assicurarsi il suo primo podio della stagione.

Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia will not line up at this Saturday’s Unadilla MX National after suffering a big practice crash during the recent break from racing. His 250MX teammate, Michael Mosiman, also endured a practice crash during the time off and he will join Barcia on the sidelines for the upcoming eighth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in New York.
Barcia, Round 6 overall winner in the 450MX class, suffered a pretty big crash last week during a routine practice session. After consulting with his doctor, the New York native will take the rest of this week off before re-assessing for future races.
Justin Barcia: “I’m definitely disappointed to say I won’t be heading to Unadilla this weekend – I’m a New York guy and it’s one of my favorite races – but I want to make sure I’m going there to win and if I’m not able to do that, I need to take my time and get back to 100%. I’m definitely going to miss the whole team there, all the supportive fans and of course being on the gate and racing for those wins but I’ll see everyone very soon.”
As for Mosiman, the 250MX class front-runner experienced a separate practice crash this week while preparing for the upcoming Unadilla National. Despite being pretty banged up, Mosiman has high hopes of returning to racing at Budds Creek for Round 9.
Michael Mosiman: “I am super bummed that I’m not going to be able to race Unadilla, I was looking forward to it and felt really good. I feel like I’ve got a lot of momentum at my back right now but I’m going to take the time to heal up 100% and be right so I can race at the front of the pack. I’ve already missed a race and I’m out for the championship so it’s better for me to race at 100% than to go and try to salvage at less than that. We’ll come back stronger hopefully very soon.”
Teammate Pierce Brown will represent the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing squad in the 250MX class this weekend in New York, where he aims to secure his first podium finish of the season.
