MOSIMAN E BROWN CATTURANO I TOP-10 NELLA CLASSE 250MX

Justin Barcia di Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing si è goduto il suo primo podio assoluto della stagione di fronte a una folla ruggente della città natale al The Wick 338 National in Massachusetts. Reclamando il terzo posto assoluto con un paio di manche combattute 2-4 in condizioni brutali e sabbiose, Barcia ha regalato ancora una volta a GASGAS Factory Racing un’altra pietra miliare per festeggiare con la MC 450F.

Nato a New York, Barcia si è sentito bene in vista del round nord-orientale e la sua ambizione si è manifestata subito in Moto 1 quando è scattato fuori dalla linea per catturare un terzo posto a bordo della sua MC 450F. È rapidamente passato al secondo posto al primo giro e ha lottato intensamente dietro al leader all’inizio. Avvicinandosi nella prima metà della gara, Barcia alla fine ha fatto marcia indietro per conquistare un comodo secondo in Moto 1.

In Moto 2, è partito con una partenza più lenta, ma è riuscito a farsi strada dal nono al primo giro fino a una battaglia tra i primi cinque a metà gara. Ha perso il controllo negli ultimi 10 minuti per entrare al quinto posto e poi si è preparato per fare un ampio sorpasso per il quarto posto a tre giri dalla fine, assicurandosi infine il quarto posto nella manche.

Justin Barcia: “I fan mi hanno tenuto sulle spine oggi, ha reso quella carica attraverso il gruppo molto meglio nella seconda manche. Abbiamo lavorato molto duramente e le cose sono state un po’ difficili, ma oggi è fantastico! Non posso ringraziare abbastanza la troupe, sono stati fantastici e l’ambientazione che abbiamo qui funzionerà bene a Millville, quindi continuiamo a girare la palla!”

In Moto 1, Mosiman è partito al terzo posto e si è rapidamente fatto strada fino al secondo posto e si è posizionato a breve distanza dal leader. Il leader della corsa è caduto al quinto giro, regalando a Mosiman il primo posto e ha corso con esso. Dopo aver condotto cinque buoni giri, Mosiman si è ritrovato a terra e alla fine è tornato indietro per finire al settimo posto.

In Moto 2, è partito ottavo nel primo giro e si è fatto strada fino al sesto posto a metà gara. Ha avuto una piccola caduta che lo ha riportato indietro nel corso della gara, ma ha tenuto forte per salvare un altro settimo posto, dandogli il settimo posto assoluto per la giornata con punteggi consistenti di 7-7.

Michael Mosiman: “Oggi è stata una giornata molto dura con molti alti e molti bassi. Ho condotto alcuni giri e mi sentivo bene sulla moto, ma penso che ci siano alcune cose su cui possiamo migliorare. Sto ancora lavorando duro dopo essere stato fuori per un paio di gare e sto ancora tornando da quello, ma penso che sia davvero buono su cui costruire. Sono contento di essere in salute e pronto per Millville, una delle mie gare preferite”.

Il compagno di squadra Pierce Brown ha avuto un inizio difficile in Moto 1 quando ha superato il primo giro a metà gruppo. Con il suo lavoro tagliato per lui, Brown si è fatto strada attraverso il campo dal 19° posto per catturare un 13° posto nella prima gara.

In Moto 2, Brown ha iniziato al 12° posto e ha disputato tutta la gara per ottenere un piazzamento tra i primi 10, chiudendo la giornata con il 10° posto assoluto.

Pierce Brown: “Tutto sommato, non posso arrabbiarmi perché ho lasciato tutto in pista. Questa è stata la mia prima volta a Southwick ed è stata un’esperienza formativa, ed è tutto ciò che posso chiedere. Questo è davvero quello che sto cercando di fare per tutta la stagione, voglio solo andare da una gara all’altra e migliorare. Sento che stiamo sgretolando, in silenzio, ma abbiamo davvero bisogno di iniziare bene. Speriamo di poter essere davanti a Millville il prossimo fine settimana”.

MOSIMAN AND BROWN CAPTURE TOP-10 FINISHES IN THE 250MX CLASS

Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia enjoyed his first overall-podium of the season on Saturday in front of a roaring hometown crowd at The Wick 338 National in Massachusetts. Claiming third overall with a pair of hard-fought 2-4 finishes in the brutal, sandy conditions, Barcia once again gave GASGAS Factory Racing another milestone to celebrate with the MC 450F.

As a New York native, Barcia felt good heading into the northeastern round and his ambition showed right away in Moto 1 as he shot off the line to capture a third-place start aboard his MC 450F. He quickly moved into second on lap one and battled intently behind the leader early on. Coming close in the first half of the race, Barcia eventually backed it down to claim a comfortable second in Moto 1.

In Moto 2, he got off to a slower start but he worked his way from ninth on the opening lap into a top-five battle midway through the race. He chipped away in the last 10 minutes to break into fifth and then set himself up to make a sweeping pass for fourth with three laps remaining, ultimately securing fourth in the moto.

Justin Barcia: “The fans kept me on my toes today, it made that charge through the pack feel way better in the second moto. We’ve been working extremely hard and things have been a little bit tough, but today feels amazing! I can’t thank the crew enough, they’ve been awesome and the setting we have here will work good in Millville, so let’s keep the ball rolling!”

In Moto 1, Mosiman got off to a third-place start and he quickly worked his way up to second and positioned himself within striking distance of the leader early on. The race leader went down on lap five, gifting Mosiman the top spot and he ran with it. After leading five solid laps, Mosiman found himself on the ground and eventually dropped back to ultimately finish seventh.

In Moto 2, he started off in eighth on the opening lap and charged his way up to sixth by the midway point. He had a small crash that set him back later in the race but he held strong to salvage another seventh-place finish, giving him seventh overall for the day with consistent 7-7 scores.

Michael Mosiman: “Today was a very tough day with a lot of highs and a lot of lows. I led some laps and I felt good on the bike but I think there’s some stuff we can improve on. I’m still getting my legs under me after being out for a couple races and I’m still coming back from that, but I think this is really good to build on. I’m glad to be healthy and ready for Millville, one of my favorite races.”

Teammate Pierce Brown had a tough start to Moto 1 as he came through the opening lap mid-pack. With his work cut out for him, Brown worked his way through the field from 19th to capture a 13th-place finish in the first race.

In Moto 2, Brown began in 12th and he rallied through the entire race to claim a top-10 finish, rounding out the day with 10th overall.

Pierce Brown: “All-in-all, I can’t be mad because I left it all on the track. This was my first time at Southwick and it was learning experience, and that’s all I can ask for. That’s really what I’m shooting for this whole season, I just want to make it race-to-race and get better. I feel like we are chipping away, quietly, but we really need starts bad. Hopefully we can get upfront at Millville next weekend.”
