GP d’Olanda nel tracciato di Valkenswaard, un incredibile weekend di gare mozzafiato nella veloce pista di sabbia nera, le lotte si sono concluse, nella MX2 torna Prado a dettare legge, Olsen ancora tabella rossa e nella MXGP un incontenibile Cairoli vince anche se la spalla è dolorante, Clement Desalle secondo assoluto, Gajser terzo dopo una caduta in gara 1!

RIDERS PODIO MXGP
Tony Cairoli: “Un fine settimana molto bello. Non mi sentivo davvero bene tutta la settimana. Su hard-pack ero OK ma questo piccolo problema alla spalla nella sabbia ha reso le cose difficili. Ad ogni modo, guardando l’immagine più grande abbiamo preso due vittorie e non puoi ottenere più di cinquanta punti, quindi è stato un grande fine settimana. Inoltre nessun incidente, che è stato importante su questa pista dove abbiamo visto un sacco di persone andare giù. Sarà una settimana intensa ora con il mio GP di casa, ma spero di vedere un sacco di pubblico ad Arco e di salire di nuovo sul gradino più alto del podio. ”
Clement Desalle: “Sono molto contento perché non è la mia pista preferita e non mi aspettavo un risultato così buono che non ho potuto allenarmi come mi piace durante la settimana dopo il mio incidente in Gran Bretagna; Ho avuto dolore alla mano e al collo. Ieri l’ho appena fatto passo dopo passo e ho fatto ciò che dovevo fare. Oggi era diverso; Ho iniziato bene, mi sentivo bene e sono riuscito a tornare in seconda posizione durante la prima gara. Ma mi sono fatto male al ginocchio durante questa gara; tra le manche abbiamo dovuto lavorare con il fisico e il medico, così sono stato in grado di ottenere un altro traguardo nella top five che mi ha regalato un primo podio in questa stagione. Ora siamo terzi in campionato e sono fiducioso per il resto della stagione dopo questo podio “.
Tim Gajser: “Sono abbastanza contento di finire di nuovo sul podio. Sono solo un po ‘deluso dalla prima gara. Ho fatto un errore e sono arrivato settimo, ma sto cercando di imparare il più possibile da questi errori, quindi di non ripeterli in futuro. La seconda gara è stata comunque buona. La mia velocità era buona, la mia partenza era buona. Eravamo molto vicini al fronte e il ritmo era alto, quindi nel complesso sono abbastanza soddisfatto e non vedo l’ora che arrivi il prossimo fine settimana ad Arco di Trento. Un enorme ringraziamento a tutti nel team, hanno fatto un lavoro fantastico con la moto e mi sono sentito a mio agio in entrambe le manche.
RIDERS PODIO MX2
Jorge Prado: “E ‘stato un grande fine settimana. Quattro giorni fa non ho potuto pensare di guidare. Ho avuto troppo dolore e non sapevo davvero come reagiva il mio corpo. Ho dovuto riposare queste settimane e prenderla comoda. Non ero affatto felice di perdere Matterley Basin. Non penso che ci aspettassimo questi risultati qui questo fine settimana: l’obiettivo era stato solo quello di guidare e ottenere dei punti! Sabato ho avuto alcuni problemi e non mi sentivo a mio agio, ma oggi mi sono svegliato e mi sentivo meglio. Quindi vincere entrambe le manche è stato grandioso e ottenere qualche punto. Ho preso alcuni antidolorifici oggi solo per essere sicuro, ma tutto quello che abbiamo fatto per questo fine settimana è andato bene. È un campionato lungo e i miei avversari stanno guidando bene. Abbiamo solo bisogno di andare avanti, rimanere concentrati, limitare gli errori e continuare a cercare di migliorare “.
Thomas Kjer-Olsen: “Abbiamo raccolto alcuni punti positivi qui in Olanda e questo è quello che conta di più per me. Sapendo che la pista sarebbe stata dura, il mio obiettivo è stato quello di rimanere al sicuro e fare del mio meglio per mantenere il comando nel campionato. Nella prima manche ho avuto un buon passo e ho tagliato il traguardo in seconda posizione. Poi nella scorsa finale sono stato passato da Geerts mentre ero di nuovo in seconda posizione, poco prima della bandiera a scacchi, quindi sono finito terzo per il secondo posto assoluto. Questa stagione sarà molto lunga e il mio obiettivo è rimanere coerente fino alla fine. ”
Jago Geerts: “Ero molto arrabbiato dopo la prima gara, non sono andato piano, brutta partenza, incidente, nessun ritmo, la seconda era completamente diversa, bella partenza, buon ritmo dall’inizio alla fine e attacco sempre alla fine, volevo davvero catturare Olsen, è stato tutto o niente nell’ultimo salto, era tutto, il secondo posto e il terzo in generale, ad essere sincero: non mi aspettavo di essere sul podio dopo quella terribile prima gara, mi sento bene, il mio primo podio del 2019, anche il primo per la nostra squadra, è una spinta per tutti nel nostro team “.
ALTRI COMMENTI PILOTI
Jeremy Seewer: “Per me è stata una pista difficile, soprattutto da dove vengo, ma mi sento ancora meglio anche se non sono al 100%. Avevo delle buone partenze, tranne che nella seconda manche. Ho guidato bene, ho solo perso punti per la top-five e per combattere: ho la velocità, avevo solo bisogno di iniziare la seconda gara, lavorerò da questa per essere dove ho bisogno di essere, sono fiducioso di poterlo fare. Sono felice di essere con il team Monster Energy Yamaha Factory e non vedo l’ora che arrivi la prossima gara in Italia “.
Arminas Jasikonis: “Per me è stato un buon weekend qui in Olanda. Mi sentivo al top della forma e continuavo a migliorare il mio ritmo ogni volta che ero in pista. Se le mie partenze erano un po ‘migliori nelle manche finali, il mio risultato complessivo sarebbe stato ancora migliore. Non ottenendo il meglio dalle partenze in entrambe le gare, ho dovuto lottare attraverso il gruppo. Nonostante non abbia iniziato bene ho finito per condividere esattamente gli stessi punti del terzo classificato, Tim Gajser e questo mi dà motivazione in più per continuare a spingere forte. Sono davvero contento di dove sono adesso e non vedo l’ora che arrivi il prossimo GP in Italia “.
Pauls Jonass: “Sono contento dei progressi che stiamo facendo. I miei risultati potrebbero non sembrare così buoni, ma onestamente sento di fare grandi progressi in ogni gara. C’è un grande gruppo di corridori in lotta per i primi sei e sento che mi sto avvicinando sempre di più a loro. La mia velocità è abbastanza buona considerando che ho un tempo limitato sulla moto, ma mi manca ancora l’idoneità a sostenere le manche complete. Conosco abbastanza bene la pista di Valkenswaard e per questo fine settimana il mio obiettivo era continuare a migliorare senza correre rischi inutili. La mia velocità nella parte iniziale della seconda manche è stata molto positiva. C’è ancora molto lavoro da fare e non vedo l’ora della pausa di un mese dopo il GP in Italia “.
Gautier Paulin: “Abbiamo avuto un sabato difficile, ma abbiamo avuto alcune cose su cui lavorare domenica, ci siamo riorganizzati bene e abbiamo avuto un buon incontro per discutere di ciò che deve accadere per domenica: abbiamo iniziato bene nel warm-up, ma ho fatto errori nella quarta sezione e questo mi è costato il secondo posto nella prima gara. Nella seconda gara ho avuto una brutta partenza e poi, da quella brutta partenza, mi sono un po ‘frustrato, poi ho commesso degli errori e su una pista come Valkenswaard lì non c’è spazio per gli errori, sono finito nelle retrovie dai piloti davanti, quindi non ho potuto vedere molto e su questa pista avevo bisogno di essere preciso, ho perso la linea e ho fatto il massimo, ho perso il controllo della moto è stata totalmente danneggiata, quindi ho fatto del mio meglio per finire la gara, ero tredicesimo alla fine e questo era quello che potevo fare, tornare al lavoro domani e rientrare ad Arco di Trento “.
Arnaud Tonus: “È stata una dura pillola da inghiottire questo fine settimana, probabilmente una delle più difficili che ho vissuto: tredicesima e ventesima nelle due manche, ma sono contento di averlo superato e di essere in buona salute Grazie a tutti i Monster Energy Il team Wilvo Yamaha MXGP per tanto supporto in questi giorni difficili. Aspettando con impazienza Arco il prossimo fine settimana! ”
Alessandro Lupino: “Sono contento di come è andato il fine settimana perché, per la prima volta qua a Valkenswaard, sono riuscito ad essere veloce fin dalle prime prove del sabato ed anche in qualifica ho sempre guidato bene. La mia moto era perfettamente a punto e ad ogni entrata riuscivo sempre ad esprimere al meglio il mio potenziale. Nella prima manche purtroppo ho avuto un problema tecnico e sono stato costretto a ritirarmi. Nella gara finale sono partito con la seconda moto ma sono scattato benissimo in partenza. Sfortunatamente dopo quindici/venti minuti di gara si è ripresentato il medesimo inconveniente tecnico della prima manche e a fatica sono riuscito a terminare in dodicesima posizione. Sembra che il motore abbia problemi alle alte temperature e nei prossimi giorni i miei tecnici lavoreranno per evitare di ritrovarsi ancora in questa situazione. Rimane il rammarico di aver perso per strada molto punti perché avevo la velocità per fare bene. In passato non ero mai stato in grado di essere così vicino ai primi sulla sabbia e per questo sono molto contento e fiducioso di riuscire a raccogliere presto i risultati che merito. Il prossimo fine settimana correremo in casa, ad Arco, e non vedo l’ora di dimostrare tutto il mio valore di fronte agli appassionati nostrani.”
Ivo Monticelli: Ho corso una forte prima manche in cui ho gareggiato a lungo nel gruppo davanti per il quarto posto. Nel bel mezzo della gara, tuttavia, sono entrato in contatto con un altro pilota e mi sono schiantato pesantemente. Con la moto gravemente danneggiata, ha continuato la strada e ho segnato tre punti di carattere con un diciottesimo posto. Dopo una buona dose di riposo e ripristino della moto tra le manche, tra cui dei punti per un taglio nel gomito, ho iniziato la seconda manche intorno al decimo. Per un momento sono tornato al tredicesimo posto, ma ho continuato a lottare e mi sono fatto strada fino all’undicesimo posto. Sono riuscito a mantenere questa posizione fino al traguardo e ho così segnato punti importanti per il campionato del mondo.
Julien Lieber: “Ieri è stata una giornata difficile, ma oggi ho recuperato. Nella prima manche la mia partenza non è stata molto buona perché ho slittato sulla piastra metallica ma nelle prime curve ho passato molti ragazzi a entrare nella top ten; poi ho passato altri piloti per avanzare al quinto, ma Van Horebeek mi ha passato all’ultima curva, così ho finito sesto. Anche la mia seconda partenza non è stata delle migliori e ho bloccato il motore durante il primo giro, ma sono tornato dal ventiduesimo al settimo, il che è positivo su questa pista. Sapevo che oggi avrei potuto fare meglio perché la pista era più dura ed è bello tornare a casa sani e salvi con un ottimo risultato. ”
Andrea Zanotti: “Il weekend non è iniziato nel migliore dei modi. La sabbia non è uno dei miei terreni preferiti ma, grazie all’aiuto dei tecnici del team, siamo riusciti a trovare una buona messa a punto per la mia moto ed in qualifica ho ottenuto il ventiseiesimo posto. Nella prima manche non ho guidato bene ma ho mantenuto a lungo la venticinquesima posizione. Nel finale ho risentito della fatica e sono stato superato da un paio di avversari. Nella gara conclusiva sono partito intorno alla ventesima piazza ma stavo bene e mi sono sentivo molto più a mio agio in sella. Il mio ritmo era buono ed ho recuperato alcune posizioni terminando diciassettesimo. Sono abbastanza contento del risultato che ho ottenuto a Valkenswaard, perché questi piazzamenti sono il frutto del grande lavoro che abbiamo fatto con la squadra negli ultimi mesi.”
Mitch Evans: “Il duro fine settimana a Valkenswaard, dopo un incidente nella gara di qualifica del sabato, mi ha lasciato le bruciature e due punti nel gomito. Guidare è stato doloroso, ma ho fatto quello che potevo. Fino al tredicesimo posto fino al tredicesimo posto fino a quando ho dovuto fare un pit-stop per riparare un problema meccanico, il che significava che purtroppo avevo finito al trentasettesimo, Moto 2. Sono stato in grado di guidare bene e passare in decima. Sono stato contento della mia guida: non vedo l’ora di riprendermi per la prossima gara in Italia! Grazie al mio team Honda 114 Motorsports! ”
Zachary Pichon: “È stato un weekend difficile, ho avuto problemi con la schiena sin da questo inverno e questo weekend è stato troppo doloroso, sono stato in grado di fare una buona giornata di qualifica, ma oggi è stato difficile. gare a causa di tanto dolore, ma almeno la guida e il feeling con la moto sono stati abbastanza buoni, ora è il momento di fare degli esami e vedere cosa possiamo fare per questi problemi “.

MXGP RIDERS
Tony Cairoli: “A very nice weekend. I didn’t really feel great all week. On hard-pack I was OK but this small shoulder problem in the sand made things difficult. Anyway, looking at the bigger picture we took two wins and you cannot get more than fifty points so it was a great weekend. Also no crashes, which was important on this track where we saw a lot of people going down. It will be a busy week now with my home GP but I hope to see a lot of public at Arco and KTM again on top of the podium.”
Clement Desalle: “I’m really happy as it’s not my favourite track and I was not expecting such a good result as I couldn’t train as I like during the week after my crash in Great Britain; I had pain in my hand and in my neck. Yesterday I just took it step-by-step and did what I needed to do. Today was different; I got good starts, was feeling good and could come back to second position during the first race. But I hurt my knee during this race; between the motos we had to work with the physio and doctor so I was able to get another top five finish which gave me a first podium this season. We are now third in the championship and I’m really confident for the rest of the season after this podium.”
Tim Gajser: “I’m quite happy to finish on the podium again. I’m just a little bit disappointed with the first race. I made a mistake and finished seventh, but I’m trying to learn as much as possible from these mistakes so I don’t make them in the future. The second race was good though. My speed was good, my start was good. We were really close to the front and the pace was high so overall I’m quite happy and I’m really looking forward to next weekend in Arco di Trento. A huge thanks to everyone in the team, they did an amazing job with the bike and I felt comfortable on it in both the motos.
MX2 RIDERS
Jorge Prado: “It was a great weekend. Four days ago I could not think about riding. I had too much pain and I didn’t really know how my body was reacting. I had to rest these weeks and take it easy. I wasn’t happy at all to miss Matterley Basin. I don’t think we really expected these results here this weekend: the goal had been just to ride and get some points! On Saturday I had some issues and didn’t feel comfortable but today I woke up and I felt better. So to win both motos was great and to get some points back. I took some painkillers today just to be safe but everything that we did for this weekend turned out well. It is a long championship and my rivals are riding well. We just need to keep going, keep focussed, limit the mistakes and keep trying to improve.”
Thomas Kjer-Olsen: ““We picked up some good points here in The Netherlands and that’s what matters the most for me. Knowing the track would be rough, my goal coming into the weekend was to remain safe and do my best to maintain the lead in the championship. In the first moto I had a decent pace and crossed the line in second. Then in the final moto I got passed by Geerts while running second again, just before the chequered flag, so I ended up third for second overall. This season will be very long and my goal is to remain consistent until the end of it.”
OTHER RIDERS
Jeremy Seewer: “It was a tough track for me especially after where I have come from, but I still feel better even though I am not 100%. I had good starts, except in the second moto. I rode good, I just struggled with a few points just to make a top-five happen, and to fight. I have the speed, I just needed the start in the second race. I will work from this to be where I need to be. I am confident I can do it. I am happy to be with the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team and I am already looking forward to the next race in Italy.”
Arminas Jasikonis: “For me it was a really good weekend here in The Netherlands. I felt on top form and kept improving my pace every time I was on track. If my starts were a little bit better in the final motos, my overall result would have been even better. Not getting the best of starts in either race, I had to fight my way through the pack. Despite not getting great starts I ended up sharing the exact same points as third placed Tim Gajser and that gives me the extra motivation to continue pushing hard. I am really happy with where I’m at right now and I am looking forward to the next GP in Italy.”
Pauls Jonass: “I’m happy with the progress we’re making. My results might not look that good yet, but honestly I feel I am making some great progress in each race. There is a large group of racers battling for the top six and I feel I am getting closer and closer to them. My speed is quite good considering I have limited timed on the bike, but I am still lacking the fitness to sustain the full motos. I know the track at Valkenswaard quite well and for this weekend my goal was to continue improving without taking any unnecessary risks. My speed in the opening part of the second moto was very positive. There is still a lot of work to do and I’m looking forward to the one-month break after the following GP in Italy.”
Mitch Evans: “Tough weekend at Valkenswaard, after a crash in the qualifying race on Saturday left me with burns and two stitches in my elbow. Riding was painful, but I did what I could with thirtieth gate pick. Moto one I made my way up through the field to thirteenth until I had to make a pit stop to repair a mechanical issue, which meant I unfortunately finished thirty-seventh. Moto two I was able to ride well and move myself into tenth. Considering that Saturday crash and my injuries, I was happy with my riding in moto two. Looking forward to recovering for the next race in Italy! Thanks to my Honda 114 Motorsports team!”
Zachary Pichon: “It has been a tough weekend. I struggled with back problems since this winter and this weekend it was too painful. I was able to make quite a good qualifying day, but today was tough. I was not able to finish my races due to so much pain, but at least the riding and feeling on the bike was pretty good. Now it is time to make some exams and see what we can do about these problems.”
Tom Vialle: “A solid weekend overall as I finished tied on points with ninth. I had a good feeling on the bike and in the sand. In the first moto I had a good start but got a little tired towards the end and lost a couple of positions. It was my first time on this track. The same scenario in the second moto and the mistake was a shame. I was almost attacking [Henry] Jacobi but then after the crash I had to find my rhythm again, Overall I was happy with my speed and my first time at Valkenswaard. I learned a lot today. I know Arco can be a technical track. It will be another new one for me.”
Julien Lieber: “Yesterday was a tough day but I recovered today. In the first moto my start was not really good as I skidded on the metal plate but in the first few corners I passed many guys to come in the top ten; then I passed some more riders to advance to fifth but Van Horebeek passed me at the last corner so I finished sixth. My second start was also not the best and I stalled the engine during the first lap but I came back from twenty-second to seventh, which is good on this track. I knew that I could do better today as the track was rougher and it’s nice to go back home safe with a top six result.”
Brian Bogers: The first race went pretty well. I had an okay start, around 11th and I saw that on the pit board so I really tried to push to get inside the top 10. Maybe I pushed too hard to make that happen, and I ended up riding too tight and I couldn’t push anymore. I finished 12th and I was very happy with that, and it was a nice to see my work paying off. In the second race, my start wasn’t so good and I got hit by another rider but I still managed to get up to 14th place. Unfortunately though, the impact with the other rider caused some damage to the bike and I wasn’t able to finish the race. It’s a shame but this is motocross and I must put it behind me and move onto Trentino next weekend.
Anton Gole: “On Saturday I struggled a lot, but today I had a good flow. In the first moto I had a really bad start, but I rode good and finished nineteenth or something. I got points. The start in the second race was really good and I felt like I rode really good too, but I crashed with another rider. Luckily I was okay: Stuff happens. I really like Trentino, so I’m looking forward to next weekend.”
Vsevolod Brylyakov: “Definitely happy to be here and back racing. This was my first MXGP weekend since my last one, in Russia in May last year, so it has been a while really and I am so happy to be back into the MXGP paddock and one of the guys there. The weekend was quite tough for me, but nobody said it would be easy, so it was tough to prepare for that. It did not go as I expected to have it. I am still positive. I got through this one and showed quite good possibilities for myself. I was positive about my riding, especially in the second moto, but unfortunately in that race I had a big crash with another rider. We got caught up on the landing, but it happens: It was a racing accident. I am looking forward with many more to go. We will keep on working.
Henry Jacobi: “I had a super first race as I did the entire moto in third position; at one stage I even made an attack for the second position but I found some lappers in my way. But a podium here was already a good result. I got another good start in the second race; I was second at first but got pushed to third and then I gave everything to keep that position but during the last five minutes I lost my rhythm and a few positions. I missed the podium by just one point but I’m happy to gain some good points for the championship, especially on a sandy track.”
Adam Sterry: “It wasn’t the weekend I was hoping for. I found it tough; maybe it was because the track was dry and so fast but I never felt comfortable. My riding was good again though crashes on the first laps made the day hard work. We improved on starts this weekend though, so I will aim to put it all together next weekend in Italy.”
