Eli Tomac: “Bisognava mettersi nella giusta posizione sin dall’inizio. Stasera, ho iniziato meglio “holeshotted” quella heat e poi ero proprio lì in alto, 3° nel principale. Quindi stavo lì … Lo scorso fine settimana mi sono seppellito nel main e non era abbastanza buono, non ero in grado di uscire dal branco come la settimana prima. Quindi nelle ultime due settimane è stata una situazione di posizione. Era la sezione di sabbia un ottimo posto dove passare, quindi è stato bello. Direi all’inizio della giornata, la maggior parte del tempo stavamo usando l’interno, ma una volta che abbiamo iniziato a gareggiare, l’esterno si è aperto e questo è stato positivo. Nel complesso, in realtà, mi sono fatto un po ‘fregare- lo chiamo solo un errore – ho lasciato la porta immediatamente aperta a Blake [Baggett] era lì. Ho fatto dei fantastici passaggi ed è stata una grande battaglia tutta la notte. E ‘stato bello combattere Blake e Marvin, stavamo tutti commettendo errori, ma cercavamo anche di non farli. Marvin Musquin: “Daytona è stata nel complesso una grande giornata. La guida è stata buona ma sfortunatamente ho iniziato a commettere un paio di errori bloccando la moto e questo mi è costato molto tempo. Zach Osborne (6°): “Daytona è stato buono con me quest’anno. Austin Forkner: “”È incredibile vincere in un posto come Daytona. Ho sempre amato venire qui anche dai giorni dei dilettanti. La pista aveva delle parti davvero difficili e si è rotta un po ‘, così ho cercato di mantenere un buon passo e cercare di non commettere errori. È bello dare un’altra vittoria alla squadra. Eli Tomac: “I mean one thing is just putting yourself in the right position off the get-go,” Tomac said. “Tonight, I just got better starts: holeshotted that heat and then was right there top three in the main. So just being there in the heat race…Last weekend I buried myself in the main and it wasn’t good enough, I wasn’t able to come up through the pack like I was the week before. So the past couple of weeks it’s been a position thing. It [the sand section] was a spot to pass, so it was nice,” Tomac said. “I would say earlier in the day, the majority of the time we were using the inside but once we got racing, the outside got opened up and that was good. In the main actually, I kind of made—I’ll just call it a dork mistake—left the door right back open to Blake [Baggett] there. The outside was faster if you were in the clear air, but I just left that open. But yeah, it was good we were able to make a couple of passes in it, as long as your goggles stayed clean.”
Cooper Webb: “I got a really good start in the Main Event and just made a bunch of mistakes the first lap – I missed the rhythm and got passed by a few guys, went back to about sixth and had some work to do. I made some great passes and it was a great battle all night. It was cool to battle Blake and Marvin, we were all making mistakes but also kind of going for it. Once I got into second, I tried to make a run on Eli and I made some mistakes and also had some pressure from Marvin, so I was kind of in a weird spot. I struggled in a few places – the whoops being one of them – but overall, it was a good night.”
Marvin Musquin: “Daytona was overall a great day. The riding was good but unfortunately, I started making a couple mistakes by stalling the bike and that cost me a lot of time. I’m a little bit bummed because the speed was better than the guys in front of me but I was in third place. It’s good to be on the podium obviously but I’ve got to minimize the mistakes and be a little more consistent to be ahead of those guys.”
Zach Osborne (6°): “Daytona was good to me this year. Sixth-place, that’s my best finish so far. I had some good times in qualifying and I’m starting to find my feet in this class and starting to kind of flow and know my place a little bit. This is something that I can definitely build from and move forward from. It’s been a rough, tough start to the season with an injury before the season and obviously trying to get back at it has been a tough deal but I’m still here, still plugging away, and I know the work that I’m doing during the week will pay off soon and it’s going to be good.”
Ken Roczen (8°): ““I’m definitely disappointed in tonight’s result; it’s my worst of the season. I think for the most part the day went well, and I was feeling really good on the bike. Unfortunately, in the main event, there was a pileup in the first turn and I got caught between my bike and Cole’s and couldn’t get up. Once I was up, I did my best to make up as many positions as I could during the race, making my way into eighth—not what I wanted and we’re now also down in the points standings, but there are still seven rounds to go. I’m going to set my eyes forward and bounce back in Indianapolis.”

Austin Forkner: ““It feels amazing to win at a place like Daytona,” said Forkner. “I’ve always loved coming here even from the amateur days. The track had some really tricky parts and it broke down a bit so I just tried to maintain a good pace and try to not make any mistakes. It’s great to give another win to the team. They’ve worked so hard to get us all where we need to be.”
