Tixier parla del ruolo di “sviluppo” per BOS KTM
Il campione del mondo MX2 2014 Jordi Tixier ha fatto il suo debutto con la nuova squadra BOS KTM al Paris Supercross la scorsa settimana e ha conquistato due prime dieci posizioni nella sua prima uscita competitiva con la 450 SX-F. L’ex pilota della Red Bull KTM non solo sta tentando la sua terza stagione nella classe regina nel 2018, ma farà anche da pioniere alle sospensioni francesi con l’azienda che intensificherà la partecipazione al motocross dopo aver gareggiato nei Rally, in auto e in mountain bike.
Il venticinquenne ha annunciato solo recentemente l’accordo che lo riporterà au KTM e dovette prepararsi e acclimatarsi rapidamente alla 450 SX-F dopo tre stagioni con le Kawasaki KX. “Tutto è nuovo al momento e c’è molto lavoro certamente, ma tutti stanno lavorando insieme e abbiamo un unico obiettivo; che è quello di guidare in cima alla classe MXGP “, ha detto all’U Arena nella capitale francese. “Le cose sono andate bene e sono contento di come Parigi sia finita, pensare di aver avuto solo un mese è ok. Non mi aspettavo due settime posizioni, ma ho avuto un buon feeling con la moto “.
Essendo l’unico rappresentante di BOS, Tixier sa che non solo gareggerà per punti e posizioni – e mirerà al suo primo podio nella categoria MXGP – ma per far evolvere i componenti chiave del set-up. Livia Lancelot era una precedente runner della tecnologia BOS in WMX.
“BOS non ha corridori in MXGP; hanno una coppia di piloti nel campionato francese ma sicuramente vogliono che sviluppi la sospensione. La base è già abbastanza buona “, ha commentato. “Abbiamo testato … ma abbiamo ancora del lavoro da fare. La sospensione BOS non è molto conosciuta, ma è un ottimo prodotto e ci credo davvero. Sono sicuro che avremo un ottimo set-up per il prossimo anno; è già abbastanza buono, ma abbiamo ancora un po ‘di più da fare. ”
Tixier ha vinto la sua ultima apparizione nel mondiale per la KTM: il Gran Premio del Messico del 2014 a Leon e un drammatico finale nella stagione MX2.

Tixier talks ‘development’ role for BOS KTM
2014 MX2 World Champion Jordi Tixier made his debut with the new BOS KTM team at the Paris Supercross last week and grabbed two top ten finishes on his first competitive outing with the 450 SX-F. The former Red Bull KTM rider is not only attempting his third season in the premier class in 2018 but will also be pioneering the French suspension with the firm stepping up their motocross participation after racing threads in Rally, cars and mountain bike.
The 25 year old only recently announced the deal that will take him back to KTM machinery and needed to swiftly prepare and acclimatise to the 450 SX-F after three seasons with Kawasaki KX equipment. “Everything is new at the moment and there is a lot of work, for sure, but everyone is working together and we have one goal; which is to ride at the top of the MXGP class,” he said at the U Arena in the French capital. “Things have been going well and I’m happy with how Paris went considering we’ve only had one month together. I didn’t expect two seventh positions but I had a good feeling on the bike.”
As the sole representative of BOS, Tixier knows he will not only be racing for points and positions – and aiming for his first podium in the MXGP category – but to evolve the key components of set-up. Livia Lancelot was a previous runner of the BOS technology in WMX.
“BOS don’t have any riders in MXGP; they have a couple in the French Championship but for sure they want me to develop the suspension. The base is already pretty good,” he commented. “We’ve tested…but we still have some work to do. BOS suspension is not that well known but it is a great product and I really believe in it. I’m sure we’ll have a great set-up for next year; it is already pretty good but we have a little bit more to do.”
Tixier won on his last world championship appearance for KTM: the 2014 Grand Prix of Mexico at Leon and a dramatic finale to the MX2 season.
