Tre è il numero magico mentre il Team HRC si prepara per il 2024
Il Team HRC sta entrando nel nuovo campionato mondiale di motocross con tre piloti a bordo delle loro Honda mentre Tim Gajser e Ruben Fernandez si uniscono al giovane italiano Ferruccio Zanchi, per quello che è un ritorno nella classe MX2 per questo prestigioso produttore.
Il cinque volte campione del mondo Gajser non ha bisogno di presentazioni, poiché lo sloveno cerca di aumentare il suo bottino di trofei dopo una stagione 2023 colpita da infortuni. Il #243 è tornato più tardi nel corso dell’anno e ha finito per vincere due degli ultimi tre round, ma i suoi occhi sono fissati su quest’anno da un po’ di tempo e cercherà di continuare a vincere, su quello che è un marchio- nuova Honda CRF450R.
Sia lui che il compagno di squadra Fernandez hanno testato strenuamente la nuova moto durante questo periodo invernale, assicurandosi che fosse pronta per tutte le sfide che una stagione MXGP di 20 round può lanciarle, e dopo un considerevole tempo di guida, entrambi sono estremamente soddisfatti i risultati e sono entusiasta della prima inaugurazione il 9-10 marzo.
Fernandez non vede l’ora di tornare di nuovo in Argentina e nella favolosa struttura di Villa La Angostura, dove il numero 70 ha vinto lì l’anno scorso, in quella che è stata la sua prima vittoria in assoluto nella MXGP. È stato un momento importante che ha davvero rafforzato la fiducia dello spagnolo per il resto della stagione, e ora si sente di nuovo bene mentre questa stagione sembra iniziare nel paese sudamericano.
È stato un grande passo per il Team HRC rientrare nella classe MX2, ma anche cruciale per il marchio correre in modo competitivo sulle moto più piccole da 250 cc, e Zanchi è stato visto come la prospettiva perfetta per guidare questa nuova impresa per il 2024. L’italiano ha già un paio di round wildcard MX2 al suo attivo, e ha avuto successo nella classe EMX250 lo scorso anno, e ora farà un passo avanti a tempo pieno in quella che è una tabula rasa completamente vuota per lui e per la moto. Entrambe le parti sanno che non sarà facile entrare e sfidarsi subito, ma entrambe hanno lavorato molto durante questa pausa stagione per essere pronte per ciò che le attende. Questo è visto come un progetto a lungo termine per cercare di tornare al livello che ha visto Gajser vincere il titolo MX2 nel 2015, ma tutti i soggetti coinvolti sanno che c’è molto potenziale e con l’esperienza e la mentalità vincente che il Team HRC possiede , sarà solo questione di tempo prima che ritornino al luogo a cui appartengono.
Quindi, con due nuove moto e un nuovo pilota, il 2024 si preannuncia come una stagione molto emozionante per tutti i soggetti coinvolti, ma prima dell’inizio dei campionati del mondo, ci sono due gare di riscaldamento a Riola Sardo e Mantova affinché il trio possa mettere a dura prova rispettive macchine ai loro primi ritmi competitivi e assicurarsi che tutto sia pronto per l’Argentina tra poco più di un mese.

Non vedo l’ora che questa stagione inizi. Ho trovato la mia forma alla fine dello scorso anno e da allora abbiamo avuto una nuova moto che è fantastica da guidare e non vedo l’ora di andare là fuori e mostrarla. La bassa stagione è stata buona, con un sacco di cose extra, ma sono riuscito a iniziare la guida di cui avevo bisogno e basarmi in Sardegna per circa un mese ha funzionato bene, così posso davvero allenarmi come devo. Il team ha lavorato duramente al mio fianco per aiutare a portare tutto dove deve essere, e ora stiamo solo cercando di arrivare al primo traguardo e iniziare la stagione 2024.
Ruben Fernandez 70
Sono rimasto davvero impressionato da questa nuova moto ed è stato divertente configurarla come voglio e lavorarla come voglio per la stagione a venire. Ovviamente, ho iniziato il 2023 vincendo in Argentina e sarebbe fantastico iniziare anche il 2024 con il botto, ma l’obiettivo è avere momenti più forti ed essere costantemente in grado di sfidare le prime posizioni. Il fatto che abbiamo due GP di Spagna adesso, di cui uno vicino a casa mia, è fantastico per me e non vedo l’ora che arrivi il nuovo round in Galizia, e in realtà ci sono molte gare in cui credo di poter fare bene.
Ferruccio Zanchi 73
Questo è un momento fantastico per me. È ciò che ogni giovane pilota vuole ottenere quando sale per la prima volta su una moto da cross: correre per il Team HRC. Tuttavia, questo momento è solo l’inizio e so che il vero lavoro inizia adesso. È un grande onore essere la persona scelta per guidare il rinnovamento di questo programma CRF250R, ma so che devo impegnarmi al 100% per assicurarmi che quest’anno e gli anni a venire avranno successo sia per me che per aa moto. Voglio ringraziare tutte le persone a me vicine che hanno contribuito a rendere tutto questo possibile e vorrei anche salutare tutti i fan della Honda in tutto il mondo che ora rappresenterò in pista. Non vedo l’ora di incontrarti e spero di poterti rendere orgoglioso nelle gare.

Siamo molto entusiasti di aver ingaggiato Ferruccio per la prossima stagione nella classe MX2. È stata una decisione su cui abbiamo riflettuto molto perché è importante per Honda e HRC, in futuro saremo pronti a correre con la nostra CRF250R e sapevamo che dovevamo farlo nel modo giusto. Crediamo che Ferruccio sia il pilota giusto per questo progetto e che possa crescere con la moto e svilupparla in modo da poter tornare a vincere gare e ad avere successo nella classe MX2, come abbiamo fatto nella classe MXGP.
Naturalmente, con Tim e Ruben, sappiamo di avere due piloti di livello mondiale che sono entrambi affamati di successo quest’anno e con questa nuovissima Honda CRF450R, siamo fiduciosi che saranno proprio lì a lottare per la vittoria nel motocross mondiale. campionato.

Three is the magic number as Team HRC gear up for 2024
Team HRC are entering into the new motocross world championships with three riders on-board their Honda machinery as Tim Gajser and Ruben Fernandez are joined by young Italian, Ferruccio Zanchi, for what is a return to the MX2 class for this prestigious manufacturer.
Five-time world champion Gajser needs no introduction, as the Slovenian looks to add to his trophy-haul after an injury-hit 2023 campaign. The #243 did return later in the year and ended up winning two of the final three rounds, but his eyes have been firmly set on this year for some time and he will be looking to continue his winning ways, on what is a brand-new Honda CRF450R.
Both him, and teammate Fernandez have been strenuously testing the new machine over this winter period, making sure it is ready for all the challenges that a 20-round MXGP season can throw at it, and after considerable riding time, both are extremely happy with the results and are excited for the first gate-drop on March 9-10.
Fernandez is especially looking forward to heading down to Argentina again, and the fabulous facility in Villa La Angostura, as the #70 was victorious there last year, in what was his first-ever MXGP win. It was an important moment and one that really boosted the Spaniard’s confidence for the rest of the season, and now he’s once again feeling good as this season looks to get underway in the South American country.
It was a big step for Team HRC to be re-joining the MX2 class, but also a crucial one for the brand to be racing competitively on the smaller 250cc machines, and Zanchi was seen as the perfect prospect to lead this new venture for 2024. The Italian already has a couple of wildcard MX2 rounds under his belt, and was successful in the EMX250 class last year, and will now step-up full time in what is a completely blank slate for him and the bike. Both parties know that it won’t be easy to come in and challenge straight away, but both have put in a lot of work over this off-season to be ready for what awaits. This is seen as a long-term project to try and get back to the level that saw Gajser win the MX2 title in 2015, but everyone involved knows there is a lot of potential, and with the expertise and winning-mentality that Team HRC possesses, it will only be a matter of time before they are back where they belong.
So with two new bikes and one new rider, 2024 is shaping-up to be a very exciting season for everyone involved, but before the world championships get underway, there are two warm-up races in Riola Sardo and Mantova for trio to put their respective machines through their first competitive paces and make sure everything is ready for Argentina in just over one month’s time.

I can’t wait for this season to get underway. I found my form at the end of last year and since then we’ve had a new bike which is great to ride and I’m looking forward to going out there and showing it. The off-season has been good, with a lot of extra stuff but I’ve been able to get in the riding I’ve needed to do and basing myself in Sardinia for a month or so has worked out well so that I can really train how I need to. The team have been working hard alongside me to help get everything to where it needs to be, and now we are just looking to get to that first gate drop and getting this 2024 season started.
Ruben Fernandez 70
I’ve been really impressed with this new bike and it’s been fun getting it setup how I want it and working how I want it for the season ahead. Obviously, I started off 2023 by winning in Argentina and it would be great to start 2024 off with a bang as well, but the goal is to have more strong moments, and be consistently challenging up the front. The fact we have two Spanish GPs now, with one close to my home is great for me and I’m really looking forward to the new round in Galicia, and there are actually a lot of races I believe I can do well at.

This is such a great moment for me. It is what every young rider wants to achieve when they first get on a motocross bike – to ride for Team HRC. However, this moment is just the start, and I know that the real work starts now. It is a great honour to be the person they chose to lead the renewal of this CRF250R programme, but I know that I need to give it 100% effort to make sure that this year, and the coming years will be successful for both myself and the machine. I want to thank all the people close to me who helped make this possible and I’d also like to say hello to all the Honda fans around the world who I’ll now be representing on the track. I look forward to meeting you and hopefully I can do you proud in the races.

We are very excited to have signed Ferruccio for this upcoming season in the MX2 class. It was a decision we thought a lot about because it is an important one for Honda and HRC, to come back to racing our CRF250R and we knew that we had to do it the right way. We believe that Ferruccio is the right rider for this project, and that he can grow with the bike and develop it so that we can get back to winning races and being successful in the MX2 class, like we have done in the MXGP class.
Of course, with Tim and Ruben, we know we have two world class riders who are both hungry for success this year and with this all-new Honda CRF450R, we are confident that they will be right up there challenging for wins in the world motocross championship.

It has been a lot of work this off season, getting everything ready as we have a new CRF450R, and we are back working with the CRF250R again, plus we have a new rider with Ferruccio, so everyone has been very busy making sure we are as prepared as possible for this upcoming campaign. I really can’t wait to see all three riders on the track, because they are all at different, but exciting points in their careers and it has the potential to be a great year for Team HRC.
