RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING THANKS COOPER WEBB FOR FOR FIVE YEARS OF RACING SUCCESSES
MURRIETA, California – Red Bull KTM Factory Racing desidera ringraziare Cooper Webb per i risultati, l’impegno e la determinazione dopo cinque stagioni di grande successo insieme. In questo momento, la Red Bull KTM Factory Racing e il 27enne Webb hanno concordato reciprocamente di separarsi con effetto immediato.
Ian Harrison, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager: “A nome del team, vorrei ringraziare Cooper per gli anni di successi che abbiamo avuto insieme. Negli ultimi cinque anni, siamo saliti sul podio della 450SX 52 volte e di queste, 21 sono state vittorie. Abbiamo vinto i titoli 450SX nel 2019 e nel 2021, abbiamo avuto un’ottima seconda stagione nel 2020 e siamo arrivati terzi quest’anno nonostante uno sfortunato incidente di fine stagione a Nashville.
Cooper aveva la possibilità nel suo contratto se voleva correre all’aperto e ha deciso a Daytona che non avrebbe gareggiato in AMA Pro Motocross nel 2023. Tuttavia, dopo il suo incidente di fine stagione SX a Nashville, Cooper ha contattato le corse MX e KTM ha accettato di sostenerlo per l’estate. Entrambe le parti sono arrivate alla serie in qualche modo impreparate e un incidente di praova prima che RedBud mettesse da parte Cooper ancora una volta.
Sia Cooper che il team hanno deciso di separarsi, questo gli darà il tempo di riprendersi e poi passare al prossimo capitolo della sua carriera agonistica. Io e la squadra gli auguriamo tutto il meglio. Ricorderò sempre il successo che abbiamo avuto insieme perché le moto e i trofei del campionato di Cooper sono orgogliosi nella hall del negozio di corse KTM.
Webb è entrato a far parte della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing nel 2019 e ha continuato a conquistare un campionato 450SX per la prima volta in carriera in quella campagna inaugurale, prima di rivendicare nuovamente la corona della classe regina nel 2021 a bordo della KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION.
Collettivamente, tra il 2019 e il 2023, Webb e Red Bull KTM Factory Racing hanno accumulato un totale di 21 vittorie al Main Event nella divisione 450SX dell’AMA Supercross Championship, oltre a una singola vittoria nel round AMA Pro Motocross Championship 450MX nel 2019. Ian Harrison, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager: “On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Cooper for the years of successes we have had together. Over the past five years, we have been on the 450SX podium 52 times and of those, 21 were victories. We won the 450SX titles in 2019 and 2021, had a strong runner-up season in 2020 and finished third this year despite an unfortunate season-ending crash in Nashville.
Cooper had the option in his contract as to whether he wanted to race outdoors and he decided at Daytona that he would not compete in AMA Pro Motocross in 2023. However, following his SX season-ending crash in Nashville, Cooper reached out about racing MX and KTM agreed to support him for the summer. Both sides came into the series somewhat underprepared and a practice crash before RedBud sidelined Cooper once again.
Both Cooper and the team have decided to part ways, this will give him time to recover and then move on to the next chapter of his racing career. The team and myself wish him all the best. I will always be reminded of the success we have had together because Cooper’s championship bikes and trophies stand proudly in the KTM race shop lobby.”
Webb joined Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 2019 and went on to clinch a first-career 450SX Championship in that inaugural campaign, before again claiming the premier class crown in 2021 onboard the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION.
Collectively, between 2019-2023, Webb and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing amassed a total of 21 Main Event wins together in the 450SX division of the AMA Supercross Championship, as well as a single AMA Pro Motocross Championship 450MX round victory in 2019. The entire team wishes Cooper well in his future endeavors.
