Van Erp, Doensen and Leok Crowned 2022 FIM Junior World Champions and World Cup Winner in Finland
VANTAA (Finlandia) 28 agosto 2022 – I campioni del mondo di motocross FIM Junior 2022 e il vincitore della Coppa del mondo sono stati incoronati a Vantaa, in Finlandia, dopo alcune gare ravvicinate che hanno visto Ivano Van Erp incoronato Campione del mondo Junior 125cc di quest’anno, mentre Gyan Doensen è diventato il Junior 85cc Il Campione del Mondo e Lucas Leok ha vinto la Coppa del Mondo 65cc.
Nella classifica delle Nazioni, è stato il Team USA a vincere, finendo in testa davanti a Finlandia e Netherlands.
In gara 1 125cc, Ivano Van Erp ha aperto la strada dopo aver ottenuto la Fox Holeshot davanti a Casey Cochran e Cas Valk. Ci sono stati alcuni piloti che sono caduti alla prima curva, questo includeva anche Edgar Canet. Al terzo giro, Valk e Janis Martins Reisulis hanno superato Cochran. Valk ha continuato la sua carica e si è impadronito della ruota posteriore di Van Erp entro la fine della gara, anche se Van Erp è stato in grado di tenere a bada la EMX125, per vincere la gara mentre Valk si è accontentato del secondo posto davanti a J. Reisulis che era terzo.
In gara due, Fox Holeshot è andato a J. Reisulis che ha aperto la strada davanti a Mathias Valin, Alexis Fueri , Van Erp e Valk. Con il procedere della gara, Van Erp e Valk hanno aggirato Valin con Cochran e Ferruccio Zanchi alle spalle. Alla fine, J. Reisulis ha vinto la gara con 6,995 secondi di vantaggio su Van Erp e Valk che era dietro di altri 13 secondi.
Una vittoria in gara nella manche di apertura e un secondo in gara due significava che Ivano Van Erp è stato ufficialmente incoronato nel Campionato del Mondo FIM Junior 125cc e si è assicurato la medaglia d’oro, mentre il vincitore di gara due Janis Martins Reisulis si è assicurato l’argento e Cas Valk ha portato a casa la medaglia di bronzo.

Il Campione del Mondo Junior 125cc, Ivano Van Erp:“Mi sento davvero bene in questo momento! Mercoledì ho avuto un grosso incidente, quindi non ho potuto allenarmi sulla mia moto. Questo fine settimana è stata la mia prima volta dopo la caduta e stavo lottando un po’ con il feeling della moto. Nella prima gara, ho fatto un holeshot e ho controllato la gara da solo. Nella seconda gara sono partito sesto o settimo e poi ho commesso un piccolo errore alla prima curva. Poi sono arrivato secondo e alla fine sono stato più veloce di Janis [Reisulis], ma l’ho preso con calma, non ho spinto, sono rimasto secondo e sono diventato Campione del Mondo”.
Nella prima gara della 85cc, la Fox Holeshot è andata a Mano Faure , mentre Gyan Doensen ha avuto una partenza decente mentre risaliva l’ordine e arrivava al secondo posto. Jarné Bervoets è stato il leader per cinque giri fino a quando non ha commesso un errore che ha permesso a Doensen di passare in testa. Bervoets è poi caduto, il che ha permesso anche a Vitezslav Marek di salire al terzo posto. Marek ha dovuto reagire dal settimo posto dopo un inizio a metà campo.
Nella seconda gara, la Fox Holeshot è stata vinta da Filippo Mantovani , ma il suo tempo in testa è stato interrotto poiché Doensen è stato veloce a prendere il primo posto alla seconda curva. C’era anche Marek, che seguiva l’olandese mentre i due si battevano da vicino. Marek ha spinto al massimo, cercando ogni occasione per passare, e dopo 11 minuti di gara è stato in grado di aggirare Doensen e prendere il comando. Marek ha mantenuto il controllo fino al penultimo giro dove è caduto, che ha consegnato la vittoria della gara e il titolo a Doensen. Bervoets è arrivato terzo.
Un risultato di 1-1 ha significato che Gyan Doensen è stato incoronato Campione del mondo di motocross FIM Junior 85cc del 2022 davanti a Vitezslav Marek che si è piazzato secondo e Jarné Bervoets che si è piazzato terzo assoluto e si è assicurato la medaglia di bronzo.

Il Campione del Mondo Junior 85cc, Gyan Doensen: “Sì, lo sai, sono senza parole. Ho lavorato sodo per questo e quest’anno doveva succedere, ed è successo, quindi sono super felice! Sono arrivato secondo nel Campionato Europeo e ora primo nel Campionato del Mondo, quindi sì, sono davvero felice. Voglio ringraziare la mia squadra per tutto lo sforzo, la mia famiglia e, naturalmente, gli amici, tutti”.
Nella prima gara della 65cc, è stato Enri Lusts a prendere la Fox Holeshot anche se alla seconda curva è stato superato da Lucas Leok , che ha condotto tutti i sette giri della gara. Il desiderio è sceso al 12° posto, mentre a tagliare il traguardo secondo è stato Viktor Leppälä e Moritz Ernecker che è arrivato terzo.
Gara due ha visto Lusts prendere ancora una volta la Fox Holeshot , anche se è stato subito superato da Andrea Uccellini. Uccellini ha commesso un errore che ha permesso a Eeka Laaksonen di passare al primo posto, ma a questo punto si stavano avvicinando anche Aston Allas e Leok. Al terzo giro Allas e Leok sono riusciti a superare il leader. Due curve dopo Allas è caduto e Leok era il nuovo leader della gara. Il giovane estone è riuscito ad aprire un bel divario rispetto al resto del campo. Nel frattempo Ricardo Bauer era quarto ed era sotto attacco. L’austriaco è riuscito a prendere e superare Jorge Salvador e Pau Ruiz Caudet per finire secondo mentre Leok ha vinto di nuovo la gara.
Un punteggio perfetto con due vittorie in gara significava che Lucas Leok è stato incoronato vincitore della Coppa del Mondo 2022 65 con Ricardo Bauer che si è assicurato la medaglia d’argento mentre Moritz Ernecker ha ottenuto il bronzo.

Il vincitore della Coppa del Mondo Junior 65cc, Lucas Leok:“Sono molto felice e volevo davvero vincere qui. abbiamo lavorato duramente per questo con tutta la squadra. Questa è stata la mia prima partenza in Coppa del Mondo, quindi significa molto per me. La seconda gara ho faticato un po’ e la pista non era più facile”.
NATIONS CLASSIFICATIONS AND RIDE GREEN CUP
Nella classifica delle nazioni, il Team USA è stato il vincitore assoluto con 17 punti , mentre il secondo con 25 punti è stato il Team Finlandia , seguita dal Team Netherlands al terzo posto con 26 punti.
Nel frattempo, il Team South Africa è stato dichiarato vincitore della Ride Green Cup per aver mostrato la sua dedizione alla cura dell’ambiente.

Van Erp, Doensen and Leok Crowned 2022 FIM Junior World Champions and World Cup Winner in Finland
VANTAA (Finland) 28 August 2022 – The 2022 FIM Junior Motocross World Champions and World Cup Winner have been crowned in Vantaa, Finland after some close racing that saw Ivano Van Erp crowned this year’s 125cc Junior World Champion, while Gyan Doensen became the 85cc Junior World Champion and Lucas Leok won the 65cc World Cup.
In the Nations standings, it was Team USA who were victorious, finishing on top ahead of Finland and Team Netherlands.
In 125cc race one, Ivano Van Erp led the way after getting the Fox Holeshot ahead of Casey Cochran and Cas Valk. There were a few riders that went down in the first corner, this also included Edgar Canet. By lap three, Valk and Janis Martins Reisulis overtook Cochran. Valk continued his charge and caught onto the rear wheel of Van Erp by the end of the race, though Van Erp was able to keep the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing Champion at bay, to win the race while Valk settled for second ahead of J. Reisulis who was third.
In race two, the Fox Holeshot went to J. Reisulis as he led the way ahead of Mathias Valin, Alexis Fueri, Van Erp and Valk. As the race progressed, Van Erp and Valk got around Valin with Cochran and Ferruccio Zanchi just behind. In the end, J. Reisulis won the race 6.995 seconds ahead of Van Erp and Valk who was a further 13 seconds behind.
A race win in the opening heat and second in race two meant that Ivano Van Erp was officially crowned the 125cc FIM Junior World Championship and secured the gold medal, while race two winner Janis Martins Reisulis secured silver and Cas Valk took home the bronze medal.

125cc Junior World Champion, Ivano Van Erp: “I feel really good in this moment! I had a big crash on Wednesday, so I could not train on my bike. This weekend was my first time on it after the crash and I was struggling a little bit with the feeling on the bike. In the first race, I took a holeshot and controlled the race by myself. In the second race, I started sixth or seventh and then made a small mistake in the first corner. Then I took second and was faster than Janis [Reisulis] at the end, but I just took it easy, didn’t push, stayed second and became World Champion”.
In the first 85cc race, the Fox Holeshot went to Mano Faure, while Gyan Doensen had a decent start as he worked his way up the order and into second. Jarné Bervoets was the leader for five laps until he made a mistake which allowed Doensen into the lead. Bervoets then crashed which also allowed Vitezslav Marek into third. Marek had to fight back from seventh after a mid-field start.
In the second race, the Fox Holeshot was won by Filippo Mantovani, but his time in the lead was cut short as Doensen was quick to take over first place in the second corner. Marek was right there too, following the Dutchman as the two battled closely. Marek pushed hard, searching for any opportunity to pass, and after 11 minutes of the race, he was able to finally get around Doensen and take over the lead. Marek looked in control until the penultimate lap where he crashed, which handed the race win and the title to Doensen. Bervoets finished third.
A 1-1 result meant that Gyan Doensen was crowned the 85cc FIM Junior Motocross World Champion of 2022 ahead of Vitezslav Marek who placed second and Jarné Bervoets who placed third overall and secured the bronze medal.

85cc Junior World Champion, Gyan Doensen: “Yes, you know, I’m speechless. I worked super hard for this and this year it needed to happen, and it happened, so I’m super happy! I got second in the European Championship and now first in the World Championship, so yeah, I am really happy. I want to thank my team for all the effort and my family and of course friends, everyone”.
In the first 65cc race, it was Enri Lusts who took the Fox Holeshot though by the second corner was passed by Lucas Leok, who led the entire seven laps of the race. Lusts dropped back to 12th, while crossing the line second was Viktor Leppälä and Moritz Ernecker who finished third.
Race two saw Lusts take the Fox Holeshot once again, though was quickly passed by Andrea Uccellini. Uccellini made a mistake which allowed Eeka Laaksonen to move into first place, but at this point Aston Allas and Leok were also closing in. By lap three Allas and Leok were able to pass the leader. Two corners later Allas crashed and Leok was the new race leader. The young Estonian was able to open up a nice gap to the rest of the field. Meanwhile Ricardo Bauer was fourth and was on a charge. The Austrian managed to catch and pass Jorge Salvador and Pau Ruiz Caudet to finish second as Leok won the race again.
A perfect score with two race wins meant that Lucas Leok was crowned the 2022 65cc World Cup Winner with Ricardo Bauer securing the silver medal while Moritz Ernecker claimed the bronze.

65cc Junior World Cup Winner, Lucas Leok: “I’m very happy and I really wanted to win here. we worked hard for this with the whole team. This was my first start in the World Cup so it means a lot for me. The second race, I struggled a bit and the track was not easy anymore”.
NATIONS CLASSIFICATIONS AND RIDE GREEN CUP
In the nations’ classifications, Team USA were the overall winners with 17 points, while second with 25 points were Finland, followed by Team Netherlands in third with 26 points.
Meanwhile, Team South Africa were declared the winners of the Ride Green Cup for showing their dedication to caring for their environment.
