Ivano van Erp incoronato Campione del Mondo Junior 125cc
Ivano van Erp della MJC Yamaha Official EMX125 si è assicurato la sua seconda medaglia d’oro nel Campionato del Mondo Junior dopo una straordinaria prestazione a bordo della sua YZ125 equipaggiata con GYTR al Campionato del Mondo FIM Junior Motocross a Vantaa, in Finlandia.
Cinque anni dopo aver conquistato il suo primo titolo mondiale con una vittoria dominante nella classe 65cc nel 2017, van Erp è tornato sul gradino più alto del podio in quella che è stata un’incredibile terza e ultima stagione a bordo di una YZ125 GYTR equipaggiata con GYTR MJC Yamaha.
Dopo una pesante caduta, mentre si allenava durante la settimana, il 16enne olandese si è ripreso con una vendetta sul circuito sabbioso di Vantaa, ottenendo una vittoria fenomenale in gara uno, seguita da un secondo e intelligente posto in gara due, per conquistare la corona 2022 FIM Junior 125cc.

“Non posso crederci! Ci si sente davvero bene! Mercoledì ho avuto un grosso incidente, quindi non ho potuto guidare questa settimana e questo fine settimana è stata la mia prima volta in sella. Ho faticato un po’ quando sono uscito in pista per la prima volta, ma durante il weekend è andata meglio. Domenica ho fatto l’holeshot in gara uno e ho controllato la gara da solo. Nella seconda gara ho dovuto lottare perché sono partito sesto o settimo. Sono tornato, ma sono arrivato secondo anche se ero un po’ più veloce del ragazzo che mi precedeva, ma non volevo spingere troppo e commettere un errore. Sapevo che il secondo era sufficiente per essere Campione del Mondo! È fantastico.”

Ivano van Erp Crowned Junior 125cc World Champion
MJC Yamaha Official EMX125’s Ivano van Erp secured his second Junior World Championship gold medal after a stunning performance aboard his GYTR kitted YZ125 at the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship in Vantaa, Finland.
Five years after claiming his first world title with a dominant victory in the 65cc class in 2017, van Erp has returned to the top step of the podium in what has been an incredible third and final season aboard an MJC Yamaha backed GYTR kitted YZ125.
After a heavy fall, while training during the week, the 16-year-old Dutchman bounced back with a vengeance at the sandy Vantaa circuit, taking a phenomenal win in race one, followed by a smooth and clever second in race two, to clinch the 2022 FIM Junior 125cc crown.

“I can’t believe it! It feels really good! I had a big crash on Wednesday, so I couldn’t ride this week, and this weekend it was my first time back on the bike. I struggled a little bit when I first went out on track, but it got better throughout the weekend. On Sunday, I took the holeshot in race one and just controlled the race by myself. In the second race, I had to fight because I started sixth or seventh. I came back, but just took second even though I was a bit faster than the guy ahead of me, but I didn’t want to push too hard and make a mistake. I knew second was enough to be World Champion! It’s amazing.”
