2021 FIM ISDE dichiarato aperto!
L’imponente Castello Visconteo nella storica città di Pavia ha accolto ufficialmente la famiglia mondiale dell’Enduro alla 95a edizione della FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) in un glorioso sabato sera.
Il vasto cortile del castello costruito nel 1360 è stato una location degna della cerimonia di apertura della competizione più antica del calendario FIM.
Osservando rispettosamente le normative Covid-19 in vigore, oltre seicento e fid riders provenienti da oltre venticinque nazioni di tutto il mondo hanno preso il loro posto al centro della scena, godendosi la possibilità di cantare i loro inni nazionali, sventolare le loro bandiere ed esprimere quel forte spirito di squadra così importante all’ISDE.
Lo spirito e l’atmosfera all’interno delle mura del castello gotico si sono sentiti ancora più previdenti tra i corridori, le squadre e così tanti coinvolti nell’organizzazione dell’evento di quest’anno dopo il suo rinvio nel 2020 – dopo aver attraversato molto di più negli ultimi diciotto mesi per arrivare a questo punto, l’attesa, i nervi e l’eccitazione sono stati amplificati.
Il rumore più grande della serata è stato naturalmente salvato per durare quando l’intera e forte squadra italiana è arrivata sul palco per cantare l’inno di Mameli. La tradizione vuole che la cerimonia di apertura dell’ISDE sia il momento in cui viene restituita l’argenteria dell’ISDE precedente e senza dubbio la nazione ospitante mirerà a prenderne un po’ per sé dopo i sei lunghi giorni che ci aspettano a partire da lunedì.
Il presidente della FIM Jorge Viegas ha rivolto un caloroso benvenuto alla famiglia Enduro in Lombardia e Piemonte: “Ringraziamo tutta l’organizzazione dietro questa 95a edizione della più grande competizione del nostro sport. Siamo consapevoli di tutti gli ulteriori sforzi del comitato organizzatore e dei tanti coinvolti dopo che siamo stati costretti ad aspettare un anno in più per arrivare qui a Rivanazzano”.
“Bisogna anche congratularsi con tutti i corridori di tutto il mondo per tutti gli sforzi profusi per essere presenti in Italia in questi tempi ancora difficili per i viaggi internazionali. Naturalmente, estendiamo i nostri pensieri a quelle nazioni come l’Australia che non sono state in grado di fare quel viaggio per ragioni al di fuori del loro controllo”.

The impressive Visconti Castle in the historic city of Pavia officially welcomed the global Enduro family to the 95th edition of the FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) on a glorious Saturday evening.
The vast courtyard of the castle built in 1360 was a fitting location for the opening ceremony of the oldest competition in the FIM calendar.
Respectfully observing the Covid-19 regulations in place, over six hundred and fid riders from over twenty five nations from around the World each took their place on centre stage, revelling in the chance to sing their national anthems, wave their flags and express that strong team spirit so important at the ISDE.
The spirit and atmosphere within the Gothic castle’s walls felt all the more prescient among the riders, teams, and so many involved in the organisation of this year’s event following its postponement in 2020 – having gone through so much more in the last eighteen months to arrive at this point, the anticipation, nerves and excitement were amplified.
The biggest noise of the night was naturally saved to last as the entire one and three strong Italian team arrived on stage to sing the Mameli anthem. Tradition dictates the ISDE opening ceremony is the point at which the silverware from the previous ISDE is returned and no doubt the host nation will be aiming to take some of it for themselves after the six long days ahead beginning on Monday.
FIM President Jorge Viegas extended a warm welcome to the Enduro family to the Lombardy and Piedemont regions: “We thank all the organisation behind this 95th edition of the biggest competition in our sport. We are mindful of all the additional efforts by the organising committee and the many involved after we were forced to wait an extra year to arrive here in Rivanazzano.”
“All of the riders from around the World must also be congratulated for all their efforts to be present in Italy in these still difficult times for international travel. Of course, we extend our thoughts to those nations like Australia who were unable to make that journey through reasons beyond their control.”
