MURRIETA, California – Il Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team ha annunciato oggi che Cooper Webb resterà fuori per il resto del campionato AMA Pro Motocross 2020 dopo aver riacceso un infortunio alla schiena in corso sabato scorso al Loretta Lynn’s National.
Dopo aver subito un brutto incidente all’inizio di quest’anno ad Arlington SX, Webb ha continuato a provare fastidiosi dolori alla schiena. Nonostante il dolore, Webb si è schierato per l’apertura della stagione in Tennessee e lo ha modificato subito durante gli allenamenti. Essendo il pilota determinato quale è, Webb ha continuato a spingere per tutta la giornata, ma si è ritrovato ancora una volta in un dolore lancinante dopo che un duro atterraggio in Moto 2 ha ulteriormente aggravato il precedente infortunio. Webb ha concluso la giornata con un notevole settimo posto assoluto e questa settimana ha subito cercato assistenza medica.
È stato confermato che Webb ha subito traumi a più ernie del disco nella schiena e il suo team medico sta valutando le opzioni per il recupero. Nel frattempo, il campione AMA Supercross 2019 sarà messo da parte per il resto della stagione di gare 2020.
Il team manager, Ian Harrison: “Siamo molto orgogliosi del modo in cui Cooper ha gestito questa situazione e il cuore che ha dimostrato di finire anche la stagione SX e di schierarsi per il round di apertura del MX dopo un incidente così grande all’inizio anno. Capiamo quanto questo sia deludente per lui, ma l’intera squadra è qui per supportarlo e fare ciò che è meglio per lui a lungo termine per essere in salute “.
Marvin Musquin e il Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team si schiereranno ancora una volta al Loretta Lynn Ranch di Hurricane Mills, nel Tennessee, questo sabato per il secondo round del campionato AMA Pro Motocross.

MURRIETA, Calif. – The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team announced today that Cooper Webb will sit out for the remainder of the 2020 AMA Pro Motocross Championship after reigniting an ongoing back injury at the Loretta Lynn’s National last Saturday.
After suffering a nasty crash earlier this year at Arlington SX, Webb has continued to experience nagging pains in his back. Despite the pain, Webb lined up for the season opener in Tennessee and he re-tweaked it right away during practice. Being the determined rider that he is, Webb continued to push through the day but he found himself in excruciating pain once again after a tough landing in Moto 2 further aggravated the previous injury. Webb finished out the day with a notable seventh overall and immediately sought medical attention this week.
It was confirmed that Webb has sustained multiple herniated discs in his back and his medical team is underway assessing options for recovery. In the meantime, the 2019 AMA Supercross Champion will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2020 race season.
Team Manager, Ian Harrison: “We are very proud of the way that Cooper has handled this situation and the heart that he has shown to even finish out the SX season and line up for the opening round of MX after such a big crash earlier in year. We understand how disappointing this is for him but the whole team is here to support him and do what is best for him long-term to be healthy.”
Marvin Musquin and the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team will line up once again at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee this Saturday for Round 2 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
