Cooper Webb: “Eravamo tutti molto vicini con la velocità, non molto separati. Ho risolto le whoops a metà strada – penso che sia quello che mi stava bloccando – e ho iniziato a colpirle molto bene. È stata una gara serrata tra noi quattro e l’intera gara sembrava avere una grande pressione tra tutti noi perché non stavamo commettendo molti errori. Sono sicuro che è stata una gara divertente da guardare per i fan ed è stata sicuramente una gara divertente da vincere. Avevo molta pressione da parte di Kenny Roczen, all’inizio era tutto su di me. E Zach guidava alla grande davanti. Ho sicuramente visto Eli mettersi alle mie spalle e stava andando davvero bene; sapevo che dovevo andare avanti e fare un passaggio su Osborne. Quindi è un’ottima serata, è bello ottenere un’altra vittoria “.
Eli Tomac: “Oggi mi sono sentito meglio su questa pista solo per fare passaggi. Stavo spingendo forte, più forte che potevo. Ho preso il front pack, poi una volta che Cooper ha effettuato il passaggio su Zach sembrava che avesse intensificato. Quindi, Ho fatto tutto il possibile, non ci sono riuscito, ma è stata davvero una bella giornata per noi “.
Zach Osborne: Per tutto il tempo in cui ero in testa, stavo solo cercando di dare un nuovo record personale ai giri. Stavo facendo qualcosa che non avevo mai fatto prima, quindi sono contento del mio passaggio. Alla fine mi sono deconcentrato un po ‘, questo è stato uno degli eventi principali più difficili che abbia mai fatto con l’altitudine e solo l’intensità era molto più serrata. ”
Chase Sexton: “Non volevo rivedere la prima gara qui. L’ho seguito un po ‘e una volta che ti segui perdi il ritmo. Non volevo che ciò accadesse perché mi sentivo come se avessi avuto un ottimo flusso stanotte quindi l’ho fatto presto il sorpasso. Sapevo di essere veloce in quella sezione ritmica. Non volevo essere troppo sporco, ma non volevo che potesse avere la possibilità di riprendermi nella curva successiva, quindi ho dovuto fermarlo. Nel complesso, mi sono sentito davvero bene là fuori, è stata una gara super divertente. I doppiati erano la parte più difficile della gara, stava solo cercando di capire un modo per aggirarli, poi ho finito per imbattermi nella parte posteriore di Jalek [Swoll] quando è caduto. Fortunatamente, non ho piegato nulla. Amico, è stata una gara divertente, la pista era super buona. ”
Ken Roczen: “La penultima gara a Salt Lake City è stata buona. Preferirei farlo in questo modo e fare uno sforzo duro e non essere abbastanza bravo e essere battuto che avere troppi problemi e abbandonare completamente. Stasera non sono stato abbastanza veloce. Ho fatto davvero del mio meglio per salire sul podio, ed eravamo vicini, ma purtroppo non abbastanza. Diamo una buona carica. Ritorneremo nell’ultima gara e proveremo a raggiungere l’ultimo gradino un’ultima volta per il 2020. Nel complesso, è stato un ottimo sforzo da parte del team e dalla mia parte, soprattutto dopo una gara di qualifica in cui sono arrivato da dietro perché avevo fatto un errore nella mia linea e non avevo la migliore scelta di gate. Abbiamo combattuto bene e siamo finiti quarti per la notte. Non è esattamente il risultato che volevamo alla fine, ma è stata una grande battaglia ed è tutto ciò che possiamo chiedere. ”
Cooper Webb: “We were all really close in speed, not a lot separating. I fixed the whoops about halfway – I think that’s what was holding me back – and I started hitting them really well. It was a tight race between us four and the whole race it seemed like a lot of pressure between us all because we weren’t making many mistakes. I’m sure it was a fun race for the fans to watch and it was a fun race to win, for sure.”
Eli Tomac: “I felt better on this track today just for making passes. I was pushing hard, as hard as I could. Caught the front pack, then once Cooper made the pass on Zach it seemed like he stepped it up. So, I did everything I could, couldn’t quite get there, but really good day for us.”
Zach Osborne: The whole time I was in the lead, I was just trying to set a new personal best on laps led. I was doing something I’ve never done before, so I’m happy with my ride. I tightened up a little bit at the end, this was one of the harder Main Events I’ve ever done with the altitude and just the intensity was way up there.”
Chase Sexton: “I didn’t want a do-over of the first race here. I kinda followed him and once you follow you kinda lose your pace. I didn’t want that to happen because I felt like I had a really good flow tonight so yeah, I made it early. I knew I was fast in that rhythm section. I didn’t want to be too dirty, but I didn’t want him to be able to have a chance to get back at me in the next corner, so I had to put him to a stop. Overall, I felt really good out there; it was a super fun race. The lappers were the hardest part, I think, of the race, was just trying to figure out a way around them, then I ended up running into the back of Jalek [Swoll] when he fell. Luckily, I didn’t bend anything up. Man, that was a fun race, the track was super good.”
Ken Roczen: “The second-to-last race in Salt Lake City was a good one. I’d rather have it this way and put in a hard effort and not be good enough and get beat than have too many issues and drop off completely. I just wasn’t fast enough tonight. I tried really hard to at least get on the podium, and we were close, but just not enough, unfortunately. We put in a good charge. We’re going to come back in the last race and try to get to the very top step one last time for 2020. Overall, it was a very good effort from the team and on my side, especially after a heat race where I got parked because I had a big rut in my line and didn’t have the greatest gate pick. We put in a good fight and ended up fourth for the night. It’s not exactly the result we wanted in the end, but it was a great fight and that’s all we can ask for.”
