ASSEN (Olanda) 25 Settembre, 2019 – La 73 ^° edizione del Monster Energy FIM Motocross delle Nazioni torna a casa questo fine settimana come la più grande gara di motocross nel mondo si assesta in Olanda, il paese in cui questo famoso evento è iniziato nel lontano 1947 .

Inoltre nel 1954 è stata la regione Drenthe ad essere a casa del MXoN per la prima volta ed è stato organizzato proprio dal Motoclub Assen. Al giorno d’oggi il circuito Dutch TT che ha ospitato il Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross dal 2015, e ha visto la MXGP Championship 2017 e il 2018 con il coronamento di alcuni titoli è stata trasformata in un luogo di motocross, così di nuovo questo fine settimana sarà ad ospitare l’edizione 2019 del Monster Energy FIM Motocross delle Nazioni in cui ogni paese avrà 3 piloti di talento che rappresentano la loro nazione in una lotta per la gloria e l’orgoglio per vincere l’ambito Chamberlain Trophy.

Team France è in fila di nuovo questo fine settimana come i campioni in carica. Contestano l’evento dal 1947 con 6 vittorie in totale e 16 podi. Monster Energy Wilvo Yamaha ufficiale di MXGP Gautier Paulin sta aprendo la strada, seguito dal Team VHR KTM Jordi Tixier e della squadra Team SM Action Yamaha Maxime Renaux, i tre rappresentano una solida squadra 2019. Nonostante alcuni recenti cambiamenti nella line up, questi piloti hanno ancora la capacità di ottenere la sesta vittoria di fila andando ad Ernee, Francia, il prossimo anno come i campioni.

Nonostante una serie di secondo e terzo posto assoluto nel Motocross delle Nazioni, Il team Olanda non ha mai vinto il trofeo Chamberlain, anche se sembra che potrebbe cambiare questo fine settimana. Guidati dal multi-time Campione del Mondo di motocross e Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Jeffrey Herlings, con l’uomo dello scorso anno perfetto a Redbud, pilota del team Standing Construct KTM Glenn Coldenhoff che è andato 1-1 nel 2018 in competizione nella classe Open e Team HRC Calvin Vlaanderen in MX2 , gli olandesi sono i chiari favoriti. Anche se il Monster Energy FIM MXoN è davvero imprevedibile e non sempre premia i favoriti con la vittoria della squadra olandese che è pienamente motivata a vincere il suo primo Monster Energy FIM MXoN nella Storia ad Assen questo settembre. Nel 2016 la squadra olandese ha preso il suo primo podio in più di 15 anni, ripetendo la realizzazione sia nel 2017 e 2018. 

Quest’anno Team USA arriva con una diversa line-up dal 2018, tuttavia Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Zach Osborne, e Jason Anderson e Monster Energy / Star / Yamaha Racing Team Justin Cooper, che entrerà nel Monster Energy FIM Motocross delle Nazioni per la prima volta, tutti hanno messo del duro lavoro per dare alla loro squadra le migliori possibilità di vittoria. Sia Osborne e Anderson sono arrivati prima in Europa per prepararsi per il fine settimana e, con la loro esperienza precedente in questo evento come parte del team Stati Uniti d’America, hanno una buona occasione per sollevare il trofeo per la prima volta dal 2011 e segnare la vittoria 23 per il team Stati Uniti d’America in questa corsa leggendaria.

L’anno scorso terzo posto fu della squadra Gran Bretagna che sono dotati di una buona line-up di piloti e sono chiaramente una squadra da guardare. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Nathan Watson in classe MXGP, F & H Kawasaki Adam Sterry in MX2 e RFX KTM Shaun Simpson in Open sono tutti e tre in grado di guidare all’interno dei piloti nelle loro classi. Simpson ha una vittoria del Gran Premio sul circuito di Assen, ed entrambi Sterry e Watson sono i piloti da sabbia brillanti.

Squadra del Belgio è sempre tra i favoriti con 15 vittorie al Motocross delle Nazioni, 11 vittorie in Trophée des Nations e 1 vittoria nella Coppa del Nazioni. L’ultima volta che squadra del Belgio ha vinto il Trofeo Chamberlain era di nuovo nel 2013, mentre quest’anno con due veterani e la medaglia di bronzo 2019 MX2, vengono preparati per la battaglia. Il pilota del team SR Honda Jeremy Van Horebeek, e di JWR Yamaha Kevin Strijbos sono esperti nella line-up del Belgio, mentre il Monster Energy Yamaha Kemea ufficiale MX2 Jago Geerts ha sperimentato il suo primo MXoN in USA l’anno scorso. Proprio come hanno fatto tante volte prima, la squadra belga farà in modo che siano intorno ai top team nella sera di Domenica.

Il Team Italia ha selezionato una squadra ben diversa, con Standing Construct KTM Ivo Monticelli alla sua seconda participazione alla competizione del MXoN in MXGP, del Team Maddii con Alberto Forato debuttando nella MX2 alla manifestazione e dal Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki Alessandro Lupino, che è il più esperto pilota con sei partecipazioni entrerà nella categoria Open. Non c’è dubbio che l’Italia deve lottare per le prime posizioni; manca l’eroe italiano Antonio Cairoli e così potrebbero avere un weekend difficile, ma sanno lavorare sodo come le altre nazioni per prendere il podio.

Da non dimenticare la squadra Svizzera con MXGP runner-up di Monster Energy Yamaha Factory squadra MXGP Jeremy Seewer, Valentin Guillod e Cyril Scheiwiller hanno un aspetto uniforme su di loro, si potrebbe trovare un piazzamento nei primi cinque se i loro piloti daranno tutti il meglio. Il Team Australia, è a competere nel MXoN fin dai primi anni ’80, ha l’ex pilota GP Dean Ferris nella line-up e due giovani che sperimenteranno il loro primo Motocross delle Nazioni, Kyle Webster e Regan Duffy.

Col 2019 MXGP Campione del Mondo della squadra HRC Tim Gajser spera che possa aiutare la squadra della Slovenia nel programma di Domenica e con Jan Pancar e Irt Peter dietro al campione del mondo sembra molto possibile. Tutti gli occhi questo fine settimana sono anche su Jorge Prado, il campione del mondo MX2 del Team Spagna a causa del suo debutto in 450cc nella classe MXGP dopo aver vinto il titolo MX2 farà il passaggio nel 2020. Marchetti KTM Iker Larranaga e Carlos Campano sono i due piloti della squadra spagnola.

Contendenti degni di nota sono anche il Team Estonia, con il veterano della squadra A1M Motorsport Tanel Leok che frequenta per la 19^° volta, Priit Ratsep e Harri Kullas che hanno una certa esperienza, la squadra ha anche grandi capacità nella sabbia così come il Team Denmark e Team Lettonia, l’Estonia è coinvolto nel Nazioni dal 1993 per la prima volta.

Stefan Kjer Olsen e Vice Campione MX2 Thomas Kjer Olsen sono nella Squadra della Danimarca in MXGP e MX2 rispettivamente, mentre Bastian Bogh Damm entra la classe Open. La prima volta che la Danimarca ha contestato il Motocross delle Nazioni è stato nel 1951 e ha avuto la possibilità di partecipare ad ogni MXoN, da allora con le sole tre eccezioni nel 2007, 2010 e il 2017 con il miglior risultato registrato al 7° posto nel 1980.

MX1 2019 il Campione Lettone Toms Macuks che rappresenta la classe MXGP, Davis Ivanovs ad entrare nella classe MX2 e multiplo campione del mondo di motocross Pauls Jonass nella categoria Open rappresenterà la squadra della Lettonia questo fine settimana. La Lettonia ha preso parte alla manifestazione dal 1992.

ASSEN (The Netherlands) 25 September 2019 – The 73^rd edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations returns home this weekend as the biggest motocross race in the World settles down in The Netherlands, the country where this famous event began way back in 1947.

Besides in 1954 it was the region of Drenthe to be home of MXoN for the very first time and it was organized by Motoclub Assen indeed. Nowadays the Dutch TT circuit which hosted the FIM Motocross World Championship since 2015, and witnessed the 2017 and 2018 MXGP Championship crowning momentshas been transformed into a motocross venue again this weekend to host the 2019 edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations where each country will have 3 talented riders representing their nation in a fight for glory and pride to line up to win the coveted Chamberlain Trophy.

Team France is lining up again this weekend as defending Champions. They’ve been contesting the event since 1947 with 6 wins in total and 16 podiums. Monster Energy Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP’s Gautier Paulin is leading the way, followed by Team VHR KTM rider Jordi Tixier and Team SM Action Yamaha team’s Maxime Renaux, the three of themrepresent the solid 2019 squad. Despite some latest changes in the line up, these riders still have the capabilities of getting their sixth in a row win and going to Ernèe, France, next year as the champions.

Despite a number of second and third place finishes in the Motocross of Nations, The Netherlands team have never won the Chamberlain trophy, although it looks that might change this weekend. Led by multi-time Motocross World Champion and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings, with last year’s perfect man at Redbud, Standing Construct KTM team rider Glenn Coldenhoff who went 1-1 in 2018 competing the OPEN class and Team HRC Calvin Vlaanderen in MX2, the Dutch are clear favourites. Even do the Monster Energy FIM MXoN is really unpredictable and it doesn’t always reward the favourites with victory Team Netherlands is fully motivated to win its first ever Monster Energy FIM MXoN in History in Assen this September. In 2016 Team Netherlands took its first podium in more than 15 years, repeating the accomplishment in both 2017 and 2018. 

This year Team USA arrive with a different line-up than 2018, however Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Zach Osborne, and Jason Anderson and Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing Team rider Justin Cooper, who will enter the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations for the first time,all have put in the hard work to give their team the best chance of victory. Both Osborne and Anderson have arrived early in Europe to prepare for the weekend and along with their previous experience in this event as part of team USA, have a good chance to lift the trophy for the first time since 2011 and score team USA’s 23^rdvictory at this legendary race. 

Last year’s third placed Team Great Britain come with a good line-up of riders and are clearly a team to watch. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Nathan Watson in MXGP class, F&H Kawasaki rider Adam Sterry in MX2 and RFX KTM rider Shaun Simpson in OPEN are all three capable of riding within the lead riders in their classes. Simpson has a Grand Prix victory at the Assen circuit, and both Sterry and Watson are brilliant sand riders.

Team Belgium is always among the favourites with 15 wins at Motocross of Nations, 11 wins in Trophèe des Nations and 1 win in Coupe de Nations. Last time Team Belgium won the Chamberlain Trophy was back in 2013 while this year with two veterans and the 2019 MX2 bronze medal, they come prepared for battle. SR Honda team rider Jeremy Van Horebeek, and JWR Yamaha’s Kevin Strijbos are seasoned campaigners in the Belgian line-up, while Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha Official MX2’s Jago Geerts experienced his first MXoN in USA last year. Just as they have done so many times before, the Belgian team will make sure they are around the top teams on Sunday night.

Team Italy also selected a well performed team, with Standing Construct KTM team rider Ivo Monticelli at his second MXoN participationcompeting in MXGP, Team Maddii Racing Husqvarna’s Alberto Forato debuting in MX2 at the event and Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki’s Alessandro Lupino, who is the most experienced rider with six participations will enter the OPEN category. No doubt Team Italy has to fight for the top positions; missing the Italian hero Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli they might have a tough weekend, but they will be working just as hard as the other lead nations to make the podium.

Not to forget Team Switzerland with MXGP runner-up Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team’s Jeremy Seewer, Valentin Guillod and Cyril Scheiwiller have a consistent look about them, they could find a top five finish if their riders all perform to their best. Team Australia, whohave been competing in MXoN since the early 80s, have former Grand Prix rider Dean Ferris in the line-up and two youngster who will experience their first ever Motocross of Nations, Kyle Webster and Regan Duffy.

2019 MXGP World Champion Team HRC’s Tim Gajser will hope he can help Team Slovenia into the Sunday program and with Jan Pancar and Irt Peter backing up the World champion it looks very possible. All eyes this weekend are also on Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado, the MX2 World champion from Team Spain because of his debut in 450cc in MXGP class after he won the MX2 overall last year in RedBud. Marchetti KTM’s Iker Larranaga and Carlos Campano rounded up the Spanish Squad. 

Notable contenders are also Team Estonia, with the veteran A1M Motorsport team’s Tanel Leok who is attending for the 19^thtime, Priit Ratsep and Harri Kullas who have some experience in the team and also big sand skills as well as Team Denmark and Team Latvia. Team Estonia got involved in the event in 1993 for the very first time.

MX1 2019 Latvian Champion Toms Macuks representing the MXGP Class, Davis Ivanovs entering the MX2 class and multiple Motocross World Champion Pauls Jonass in the OPEN Category will represent Team Latvia this weekend. Team Latvia has been taking part at the event since 1992.
