Un altro weekend di gare, il secondo dei tre di seguito in una pista tecnica e difficile sia il Sabato che la Domenica, forse un pò semplice per i pilotoni visto che pare abbia livellato i tempi e si faceva factica a fare la differenza, dove Tony Cairoli ha fatto due errori, mentre Tim Gajser centra un altro successo con doppietta, dimostra che anche lui punta al titolo, il duello si è concluso e si sposta in Francia al prossimo weekend, ma eccovi TUTTI i commenti dei piloti a podio o in gara!

RIDERS PODIO MXGP
Tim Gajser: È stato davvero fantastico finire con due vittorie e la generale qui in Portogallo. Ho buttato lo scorso weekend alle mie spalle e sapevo che se mi fossi concentrato e guidato come so guidare, potevo fare bene su questa pista di Agueda. Tuttavia, ottenere entrambe le vittorie è un grande slancio di fiducia e sostiene molto bene la mia vittoria in Trentino. Ora ho i giri più veloci nelle ultime quattro manche, quindi la mia velocità è buona e so di sentirmi forte anche io. Queste gare da back to back sono difficili, ma mi dirigo verso la Francia davvero felice con la mia guida e convinto che la moto e io stiamo lavorando bene insieme. Un grande ringraziamento alla squadra per aver lavorato così duramente per aiutarmi a far sì che ciò accada, e continuiamo così!
Tony Cairoli: “Da un lato sono felice perché l’obiettivo è essere sempre sul podio ma dall’altro sono deluso. Nella prima manche ho fatto un errore stupido e ho spento la moto, ma sono riuscito a tornare su Tim. Nel secondo stavo cambiando le linee. Dove sono caduto è stata una lotteria, c’era un sacco di fango e ho scelto un’altra linea all’ultimo momento e c’era una pietra che mi ha scartato e sono scivolato. Sono felice di non essermi fatto male. ”
Arnaud Tonus:” È incredibile essere di nuovo sul podio, è difficile esprimere le parole in realtà, mi sento grato, davvero grato, grazie alla mia squadra, Yamaha e tutte le persone che mi supportano per essersi lasciati alle spalle attraverso quello che è stato il momento più difficile della mia carriera. Rientro qui dopo tutto questo è stato fantastico. Sono così felice e soprattutto perché ho dovuto lottare davvero duramente per questo risultato, ma è passato e ho dovuto passare le persone indietro e combattere molto duramente, in modo tale da rendere il risultato più dolce “.

Jorge Prado: “”Questo è il più vicino a un GP di casa e ho così tanti fan che sono venuti e tifavano per me, quindi mi sono davvero divertito. Sono andato in cima alla classifica oggi e penso che tutti vogliano una gara come questa. E ‘stato un grande fine settimana Ho avuto due ottime partenze e potrei farlo succedere di nuovo. Avevamo bisogno di ottenere quella targa rossa. ”
Thomas Kjer Olsen:” In generale, sono molto contento di come ho corso qui in Portogallo. Perdere la tabella rossa non è grandioso, non l’ho mai voluto, ma ancora una volta la mia velocità è stata buona e ottenere il secondo posto assoluto dopo una dura seconda manche. Mi sentivo bene tutto il fine settimana e non vedevo l’ora di andare al GP. Le cose stanno andando in una buona direzione, quindi molti aspetti positivi di entrambe le gare in Portogallo. Ho fatto una buona partenza nella gara di apertura e sono riuscito a passare dalla quinta alla terza posizione. Il ritmo era molto forte e stavamo tutti spingendo molto forte e usando molta energia. Secondo in quella prima gara è stato davvero buono. Sono stato abbastanza fortunato nella seconda gara che non sono andato giù entrando nella prima curva – ho finito andando a destra quando la curva era a sinistra. Ho avuto molto lavoro da fare dopo e ho guidato più forte che potevo. Lavorare fino al quarto posto era buono. Portare la tabella rossa in più GP sarebbe stato bello, ma non cambia nulla ora che non ce l’ho. Lo rivoglio indietro. Voglio vincere le gare. Devo solo concentrarmi e lavorare su partenze coerenti “.
Mitchell Evans: “. Il podio in Argentina non ha dato abbastanza per affondare e probabilmente non ho apprezzato tanto quanto apprezzo questo, solo di avere un paio di week-end duri. Siamo finalmente tornati in cima alle lesioni e raccogliamo i frutti. Mi sento bene. Gli inizi sono sempre molto meglio, sta aiutando molto. Tutto sorride in questo campo. Sappiamo quello su cui dobbiamo lavorare e stiamo cercando solo continuare a progredire per tutto l’anno “.

Clément Desalle: “E ‘stata una buona giornata se consideriamo che non ho potuto guidare così tanto nelle ultime settimane e ci sono alcuni punti positivi. È stato fantastico condurre la seconda manche con un ottimo ritmo per tanti giri e questo è incoraggiante per i prossimi round. Continuo a riprendermi dal mio infortunio al ginocchio e sento che sta migliorando ogni settimana. L’altro punto positivo sono le mie partenze, e poi segnare un sesto e un quarto mi da buoni punti per il campionato. Fisicamente è ancora difficile mantenere un’intensità così alta per tutta la gara, ma so che potrò continuare a migliorare le mie condizioni nelle prossime settimane. ”
Julien Lieber:” La prima manche è stata buona; Ho fatto una buona partenza e ho avuto tempi sul giro costanti per finire quinto, non così lontano da Seewer. Ho provato a passarlo e ho spinto negli ultimi giri, ma non sono riuscito a farlo. Nella seconda manche la mia partenza è stata buona, ma nella seconda curva due piloti mi hanno colpito; Sono quasi caduto e ho perso molte posizioni, ma sono tornato al nono. E ‘stato un weekend solido; la pista è stata davvero bella e mi aspetto una rinnovata fiducia al prossimo round in Francia. ”
Pauls Jonass:” Mi è piaciuto molto il GP del Portogallo, è una pista che mi è sempre piaciuta e le condizioni erano praticamente perfette qui. Mi sentivo bene dopo il mio podio in Italia lo scorso fine settimana, ma mi sento anche bene per ottenere un risultato forte in condizioni più normali.La mia forma fisica sta migliorando continuamente e in quanto mi diverto a correre un altro 450 e altro ancora. Ho avuto il meglio delle partenze qui, ma ho fatto alcuni passaggi importanti nei primi giri di entrambe le gare, il che mi ha davvero aiutato. La pista era veloce e molti piloti stavano spingendo molto, quindi non è stato facile fare passaggi. Ho guidato costantemente durante entrambe le manche, che era anche importante. Mi sento in procinto di fare dei buoni progressi, il che mi dà una motivazione in più per continuare a lavorare sodo con il team. ”
Arminas Jasikonis:” Questo non è stato il GP sperato. Ma sto lasciando il Portogallo fisicamente bene, solo con due risultati frustranti. Dopo il mio incidente nella gara di qualificazione sapevo che oggi sarebbe stato difficile. Non ottenere il meglio delle partenze su una pista veloce e generalmente monolinea non mi ha reso le cose facili, ma è una corsa. Ho dato il massimo, ho fatto dei buoni passaggi, ma non ero dove speravo di essere. Ma come ho detto, sono sano e torneremo a lavorare in Francia il prossimo fine settimana. ”
Henry Jacobi:” Normalmente con un quarto assoluto sarei felice, ma è un po ‘deludente perché ero terzo o secondo durante la prima gara fino a quando ho avuto un grande incidente tra le wave nell’ultimo giro. Adam Sterry:” Mi sentivo bene tutto il weekend e mi aspettavo due buone gare oggi, ma in entrambe le gare qualcuno si è schiantato davanti durante il primo giro, nella prima gara ho quasi ottenuto l’holeshot e sono arrivato terzo quando Darian si è schiantato davanti a me, e nella seconda manche Jed si è schiantato sul triplo e non c’era un posto dove potevo andare! da molto lontano in entrambe le gare, si spera che in Francia sarà diversa e potrò avere risultati solidi. ”
Jeremy Seewer:” Ho avuto un weekend positivo, ho fatto due buone partenze da una cattiva scelta, specialmente su questo tipo di partenza. questo fine settimana, sono arrivato quarto nella prima gara che è stata davvero buona perché ho faticato ieri, ma oggi mi sentivo bene, la seconda gara è stata di nuovo buona, mi sono piazzato quinto, ma l’ingresso nella sezione wave qui è davvero difficile. sono rocce, solchi, kicker, non kicker, molto da considerare e ogni giro si arriva lì e cambiava tutto, poi sono stato calciato lateralmente all’ultimo giro e l’ho fatto scivolare fuori. Questo è positivo per le prossime gare. ”
Romain Febvre: Oggi ho avuto un giorno su e giù. Ogni volta che salivo in pista ho avuto le braccia dure che ha reso difficile tutto. La prima gara ho faticato molto con le mie braccia e ho avuto un piccolo problema con la moto alla fine della gara. Ho finito nono, che non è male, ma neanche buono. Ho avuto una partenza migliore nella seconda gara, e ho avuto un buon ritmo ma ho faticato di nuovo con le mie braccia. Il sesto nella gara finale non è poi così male per un ritorno penso. È un punto di partenza e da qui possiamo costruire. ”
Gautier Paulin:” Il risultato su carta non era quello che volevo, ma sicuramente non riflette la mia velocità, riflette un errore che ho fatto nelle prove cronometrate, dove ero l’unico pilota ho fatto un bel trasferimento, sono andato troppo largo, ho perso il traguardo e ho avuto un grande incidente, ho faticato da quel momento, mi sentivo rigido stamattina e poi sono andato a sbattere contro la top-five nel primo giro e sono rimasto bloccato sotto la mia moto. Su una pista come questa è davvero difficile tornare, quindi ho lottato duramente per il quindicesimo posto e poi nella seconda gara ho finito quinto, non è quello che volevo, ma me ne vado al sicuro, recupererò questa settimana per tornare più forte il prossimo fine settimana. ”
Vsevolod Brylyakov:” Ieri è stata una giornata un po ‘dura, dopo un DNF nella gara di qualifica, quindi stavo partendo proprio dall’esterno e ho dovuto giocare una partita intelligente all’inizio. Stavo andando in sella alla diciottesima in prima manche, lottando in avanti e poi ho avuto un piccolo incidente che mi è costato un buon traguardo. Ero frustrato con quello. Nella seconda non ho avuto una buona partenza, quindi ho spinto in avanti e ho fatto una buona gara. Ero abbastanza contento di aver concluso quindicesimo e non vedo l’ora che arrivi la Francia. ”
Alessandro Lupino: “Fine settimana abbastanza positivo. Sabato ero molto veloce ed ho centrato il miglior risultato della mia carriera in qualifica. Ero molto contento perché sono partito bene ed ho tenuto per tutta la gara un’ottima velocità. Domenica purtroppo non è andata come mi aspettavo perché in entrambe le manche non sono partito benissimo e nei primi giri non riuscivo a guidare sciolto. Quando finalmente ero in grado di spingere come volevo i piloti davanti a me erano troppo lontani. Dispiace perché il mio potenziale in questa gara era buono e rimane il rammarico di non aver raccolto quanto era nelle mie possibilità. Il piazzamento in qualifica però mi da una bella iniezione di fiducia e mi fa guardare con ottimismo ai prossimi appuntamenti.”

RIDERS PODIO MXGP
Tim Gajser: It was really great to come away with two wins and the overall here in Portugal. I put last weekend behind me and I knew that if I focused and rode like I know how to ride, I could do well at this Agueda track. Still, to get both moto victories is a great confidence booster and backs up my win in Trentino very nicely. I now have the fastest laps in the last four motos so my speed is good and I know I am feeling strong too. These back to back races are tough but I head to France really happy with my riding and confident that the bike and I are working well together. A big thanks to the team for working so hard to help make this happen, and let’s keep up the effort!
Tony Cairoli: “On one side I’m happy because the goal is to always be on the podium but in another way I’m disappointed. In the first moto I made a silly mistake and I stalled the bike but I could get back to Tim. In the second I was swapping lines. Where I crashed was a lottery, there was a lot of mud and I chose another line at the last moment and there was a rock that twisted my front end. I’m happy I didn’t hurt myself.”
Arnaud Tonus: “It feels amazing to be back on the podium. It is hard to put the feeling into words actually. I just feel thankful. Really thankful. Thankful to my team, Yamaha and all of the people who support me for sticking behind me through what was the toughest time in my career. To be back up here after all of that is so cool. I am so happy and especially because I had to fight really hard for this result. I was passed and I had to pass people back and fight really hard, so that just makes a result like this so much sweeter.”
RIDERS PODIO MX2
Jorge Prado: “This is the closest to a home GP and so many fans came out and were cheering for me, so I really enjoyed it. I went top of the table today and I think everybody wants a race like this. It was a great weekend. I had two great starts and could make it happen again. We needed to get that red plate.”
Thomas Kjer Olsen: “Generally, I’m very pleased with how I’ve ridden here in Portugal. Losing the red plate isn’t great, I never wanted that, but again my speed has been good and to get second overall after a tough second moto is great. I felt good all weekend, and I’d been looking forward to the GP. Things are heading in a good direction so plenty of positives from the both races in Portugal. I got a good start in the opening race and worked my way from fifth to third. The pace was really strong and we were all pushing really hard and using a lot of energy. Second in that first race was really good. I was pretty lucky in the second race that I didn’t go down entering the first corner – I ended up going right when the corner went left. I had a lot of work to do after that and just rode as hard as I could. Working my way back to fourth was good. Carrying the red plate into more GPs would have been nice, but nothing changes now that I don’t have it. I want it back. I want to be winning races. I just need to keep focused and work on consistent starts.”
Mitchell Evans: “The podium in Argentina did not quite sink in and I probably did not appreciate it as much as I appreciate this one, just from having a few tough weekends. We are finally getting back on top of the injuries and picking up my fitness again. I am feeling good. Starts are getting a lot better too, which is helping a lot. All smiles in this camp. We know what we need to work on and we are looking to just keep progressing throughout the year.”
OTHER RIDERS
Clément Desalle: “It was a decent day if we consider that I couldn’t ride so much during the past weeks and there some positive points. It was great to lead the second moto with a very good rhythm for so many laps and that’s encouraging for the next rounds. I continue to recover from my knee injury and I feel that it’s coming better each week. The other positive point are my starts, and then to score a sixth and a fourth give me good points for the championship. Physically it’s still tough to maintain such a high intensity for the entire race but I know that I will be able to continue to improve my condition in the coming weeks.”
Julien Lieber: “The first moto was good; I got a good start and had consistent lap times to finish fifth, not so far from Seewer. I tried to pass him and pushed in the last few laps but I couldn’t quite make it stick. In the second moto my start was again good but in the second corner two riders hit me; I nearly crashed and lost many positions but I came back to ninth. It was a solid weekend; the track was really nice and I take renewed confidence to the next round in France.”
Jeremy Seewer: “I had a positive weekend. I had two good starts from a bad gate pick, especially on this kind of start. I had good speed this weekend. I finished fourth in the first race which was really good because I struggled yesterday, but I felt good today. Second race was really good again, I settled in fifth, but the entry into the wave section here is really tricky. There are rocks, ruts, kickers, no kickers, lots to consider and every lap you get there, the bike handles differently. I got kicked sideways on the last lap and slid it out. I lost five spots. I still reached my goal, so this is positive for the next races.”
Romain Febvre: I had an up and down day today. I got arm pump every time I went on the track so that made it difficult. First race I struggled a lot with my arms and I had a small issue with the bike at the end of the race. I finished ninth, which is not bad, but not good either. I had a better start in the second race, and I had a good rhythm but I struggled with my arms again. Sixth in the final race is not so bad for a come-back I think. It’s a starting point and from here we can build.”
Gautier Paulin: “The result on paper was not what I wanted. It definitely does not reflect my speed. It reflects a mistake I made in time practice, where I was the only rider doing a cool transfer. I went too wide, missed the line and had a big crash. I struggled since that moment. I was feeling stiff this morning and then I crashed chasing the top-five on the first lap and was stuck under my bike. On a track like this it is really hard to come back, so I fought hard for fifteenth place and then in the second race I finished fifth. It is not what I wanted, but I leave here safe. I will recover this week and come back stronger next weekend.”
Vsevolod Brylyakov: “Yesterday was a bit of a hard day, after a DNF in the qualifying race, so I was starting right from the outside and had to play a smart game on the start. I was riding in around eighteenth in moto one, fighting forward and then I had a small crash that cost me a good finish. I was frustrated with that. In the second one I did not have a good start, so pushed forward and had a good race. I was quite happy with finishing fifteenth in that and am looking forward to France.”
Anton Gole: “Saturday was not good. I struggled a lot with the track, as well as mentally. I was overthinking everything. This morning was the same, but in the first moto it all clicked. I felt so much better and charged to pass the guys in front of me. The last moto was just as good. I am a little bit disappointed about the crash in the first moto, but I am pretty happy. One point in the second race and the field is so stacked, with so many great guys. It is really tough. These are not the positions that I wanted, but I am happy and looking forward to France.”
Kevin Strijbos: “It was not the weekend that I was hoping for. I knew it would be more difficult than last week, as the track was faster. It was just difficult. I felt good on the bike, but just did not have that little bit extra. The first moto was not good and then in the second moto I crashed in the third corner, came back to twentieth and crashed again. It is just hard to come back after the two operations on the elbow. I still need more bike time, but it is still not easy as I still have some elbow problems. We are also still working on the bike to make it better. Next week is another race, so we are going to give it our best.”
Pauls Jonass: “I’ve really enjoyed the GP of Portugal. It’s a track I’ve always liked and the conditions were pretty much perfect here. I guess I was feeling good after my podium result in Italy last weekend, but it also feels good to get a strong result in more normal conditions. My physical fitness is improving all the time and as it does I’m able to enjoy racing a 450 more and more. I didn’t get the best of starts here, but I made some important passes in the first laps of both races, which really helped me. The track was fast and a lot of riders were really pushing hard, so it wasn’t easy to make passes. I rode consistently during both motos, which was also important. I feel like I’m making some good progress, which gives me extra motivation to keep working hard with the team.”
Arminas Jasikonis:“This hasn’t been the GP myself or the team hoped for. But I’m leaving Portugal physically ok, just with two frustrating results. After my crash in the qualification race I knew today would be tough. Not getting the best of starts on a fast and generally one-lined track didn’t make things any easier for me, but that’s racing. I gave my all, made some good passes, but just wasn’t where I hoped I’d be. But like I said, I’m in one-piece and we’ll get back to work in France next weekend.”
Henry Jacobi: “Normally with a fourth overall I would be happy, but it’s a little bit disappointing because I was third or second during the first race until I had a big crash in the waves on the last lap. I tried to pass back Olsen but he changed his line and took mine so I had to use a different one too but there was a stone and I saw it too late. It was a big crash; I was even wondering if I would be able to race the second moto as my hand was painful but I decided to have a go, made a good start and didn’t feel any pain! I eventually passed Evans for second and it remains very good for the championship so we can’t be unhappy tonight.”
Roan van de Moosdijk: “It was an unbelievable day! In the first moto I crashed with other riders at the second turn but I came back from nearly last to fourteenth which was pretty good for me! The second moto I got the holeshot; Prado passed me after a few corners and then I stayed fourth for most of the race before Olsen passed me near the end. Anyway overall I’m really happy; it was the best possible training before the next round of the EMX250 next week in France.”
Adam Sterry: “I felt good all weekend and was expecting two good races today but in both races someone crashed in front of me during the first lap! In the first race I almost got the holeshot and was third when Darian crashed in front of me, and in the second moto Jed crashed on the triple and there was no place where I could go! I had to come from a long way back in both races; hopefully the next race will be different and I can have solid results.”
