GP della Comunità Valeciana in Spagna nel tracciato di RedSand MX Park, un incredibile weekend di gare mozzafiato nella pista di sabbia e terra rossa, le lotte si sono concluse, nella MX2 Jonass fa ancora doppietta e continua la leadership con la tabella rossa e nella MXGP continua il duello con un incontenibile Herlings che prova il tutto per tutto su Cairoli che a sto giro è più determinato, il resto dei piloti si è difeso e Desalle chiude il podio!

RIDERS PODIO MXGP
Tony Cairoli: Sono davvero contento del fine settimana. Stiamo ancora verificando il buon assetto con la moto, abbiamo già apportato alcune modifiche e trovo che abbiamo configurato davvero bene in questo GP. La prima manche non è iniziata bene, penso intorno al 12 o 13° posto, ma dopo il primo giro sono riuscito a tornare in seconda posizione, ho fatto davvero un buon lavoro nel primo giro, ma ho faticato a passare Romain anche se sono stato più veloce di lui, ma non sono riuscito a superarlo subito. Ero un po ‘stanco di usare molta pista per passarlo, poi sono riuscito a vincere, ed è stato bello. Nella seconda manche ho fatto una buona partenza, l’holeshot, e Paulin è stato molto aggressivo nei primi giri e mi ha superato, ha avuto un buon ritmo e ho provato a seguirlo, sono tornato sotto e l’ho superato. Stavo controllando la situazione e ho visto che Jeffrey stava arrivando e abbiamo potuto rispondere con dei bei tempi sul giro e tutto è andato bene. Questa è la mia 84° vittoria nei GP e la stagione sta andando davvero bene. Non è importante avere la tabella rossa ora o più tardi, è importante avere delle belle gare e provare a migliorare. Le prime gare stavo combattendo, ma stiamo cercando di migliorare le cose sulla moto, vedo alcuni punti in cui siamo un po ‘in difficoltà, ma finalmente abbiamo un buon set-up e alcune cose nuove stanno arrivando per la moto e io sto davvero aspettando questo per vedere se è meglio di quanto pensassi. Con oggi faccio 300 podi nella mia carriera, un altro bel successo!
Jeffrey Herlings: Non è stato un ottimo fine settimana anche se secondo non è male. Con questa pista ho provato a vincere, ma la prima manche ha avuto una brutta partenza, poi la seconda ero forse in quarta posizione e Tony mi ha tagliato fuori la traiettoria, non è molto bello dal mio compagno di squadra, e poi sono caduto al primo giro e sono risalito dal 15° o 20° posto e ho combattuto fino a raggiungere Tony. Una volta arrivato al secondo, ho visto che mancavano solo pochi minuti e avevo sette secondi da recuperare ma non riuscivo a recuperare terreno. Sto anche ricevendo alcune parti per le partenze, riusciremo ad ottenerle questa settimana. Personalmente, è qui che sto perdendo la gara, all’inizio e se otteniamo alcune cose in questa settimana posso migliorare. La competizione è dura ed è difficile venire sempre da dietro, ogni settimana devo farlo, quindi non è bello iniziare da quella posizione. So che abbiamo una grande squadra alle spalle e ci lavoreremo nelle prossime settimane. Forse non sarà risolto ma continueremo a migliorare. Non sono il migliore, ma continuo a lavorarci.
Clément Desalle: “È positivo ottenere questo podio, perché ieri in qualy il feeling non è stato molto buono. Abbiamo cambiato la nostra strategia per oggi e questo mi ha aiutato molto, soprattutto per le partenze; se non si inizia bene è difficile ottenere un buon risultato in quanto la classe è davvero competitiva. Sono contento di aver fatto una buona partenza in gara uno e ho lottato per tutta la gara per finire al quarto posto; la mia seconda partenza non è stata molto buona, ma ho avuto un buon feeling e ho fatto molti passaggi forti durante i primi due giri per tornare terzo. Ho di nuovo finito quarto; Ho avuto una forte battaglia con Febvre per la maggior parte della gara ma non è riuscito a superarmi ed è bello avere un secondo podio dall’inizio della stagione. Ora continueremo a lavorare sodo; il terzo è buono ma il mio obiettivo è vincere. ”
RIDERS PODIO MX2
Pauls Jonass: “È bello iniziare la stagione con sei vittorie su sei manche ma il motocross non è mai facile! Molte persone a casa hanno detto “sembrava una gara facile per te …” ma ogni manche è difficile. Devi rimanere concentrato. Questo weekend non è stato facile perché Jorge era sempre presente nella prima manche e nella seconda Darian, Jorge e Thomas erano vicini! Ho cercato di non commettere grossi errori e sono rimasto calmo a controllare la gara. Oggi mi è piaciuta la pista. ”
Jorge Prado: “E ‘stato un buon fine settimana e sono contento del mio secondo posto. La prima manche è stata buona, la seconda ho faticato un po ‘ma abbiamo lavorato duro quindi sono contento. Di sicuro tutti vogliono vincere qui e Pauls è difficile da battere! Ultimamente ha guidato ancora meglio del solito. Quindi continueremo a provare! ”
Thomas Kjer-Olsen: Ci sono state molte cose positive in questo GP e sono soddisfatto dei nostri progressi. Qui in Spagna mi sono sentito a posto per tutto il weekend. In Gara1 non sono partito bene, e questo ha reso tutto più difficile. Fortunatamente in Gara2 sono partito molto meglio, e ho potuto far vedere la mia velocità. Mi spiace solo di essere caduto mentre ero secondo, e in una posizione favorevole per attaccare Jonass per il primo posto. Ma nel complesso, in questo weekend quanto a forma e velocità ero in ottime condizioni. Ora continueremo a lavorare sodo e sono impaziente di correre in Italia.”
OTHER RIDERS COMENTS
Romain Febvre: “Nel complesso, ho avuto un buon fine settimana, ero appena fuori dal podio, il che è buono, so che la mia velocità è buona, anche le mie partenze sono buone, devo solo migliorare un po ‘”.
Tim Gajser: Direi che oggi non era così male. È stato sicuramente un miglioramento da Valkenswaard; la guida è stata migliore e così è stata la sensazione, anche se ovviamente non siamo ancora dove vorremmo essere ma prendiamo questo sesto posto. Voglio ringraziare il team perché la moto è stata fantastica, ora tocca a me lavorare duro per tornare al livello in cui so di poter correre. Penso che insieme potremo presto ottenere grandi risultati. Ora non vedo l’ora che arrivi Arco, dove sono sicuro che ci sarà molto supporto dai miei fan di casa, che arrivano sempre in grande numero.
Paulin Gautier: Nel complesso sono contento di come sono andare le cose in questo GP. Il team ha fatto un lavoro fantastico sulla mia FC 450, e i risultati in gara si vedono. Nella prima manche sono partito bene e stavo lottando per il podio, quando una caduta mi ha ricacciato indietro. Sono ripartito subito rientrando nella top 5, finché un’altra caduta mi ha fatto concludere settimo. Gara2 è andata molto meglio, ed essere davanti per i primi giri è stata una sensazione grandiosa. Se non fosse stato per quelle cadute in Gara1, oggi il podio di giornata sarebbe stato alla portata.”

Tony Caroli: “I’m really happy about the weekend. We made some changes to the bike for improvement and I was very pleased to get back from a bad start to second on the first lap of the first moto. I struggled a bit to pass Romain. I had the better speed but took a while to make it happen. It was good to win. A holeshot in the second moto and Paulin was aggressive and with a good rhythm but I could pass him and control the situation. I knew Jeffrey was coming back strong but we could respond with some good lap-times. Everything went well and I’m really happy to win here in Spain. It is my 84th win; it’s really nice and the season is going good. I’m happy to fight with Jeffrey and the other guys. The red plate doesn’t matter too much at the moment. It is about trying to improve and we are trying different things but we have a good set-up.”
Jeffrey Herlings: “It wasn’t a good weekend and I came to this track aiming to win but I messed up both starts; the second one wasn’t too bad but I crashed on the first lap and had to come back from somewhere around fifteenth and was still able to fight my way up to Tony. The bike we have is really solid but we might have some new parts to try for the starts and hopefully we can improve with that. Once the starts are better – and I also need to look at what I am doing on the bike – then we’ll be able to put ourselves in a much better position. The competition is strong here and it is tough to come through the pack; every weekend has been like this and I either barely make it or run out of time. I have a great team behind me and we’ll be working on it in the coming weeks.”
Clement Desalle: “It’s positive to get this podium, as yesterday the feeling was not so good. We changed our strategy for today and that helped me a lot, especially for the starts; if you don’t get a good start it’s difficult to get a good result as the class is really competitive. I’m happy as I got a good start in race one and I was fighting all race to finish in fourth place; my second start was not quite so good but I had a good feeling and made many strong passes during the first two laps to come back to third. I again finished fourth; I had a strong battle with Febvre for most of the race but he couldn’t pass me and it’s good to have a second podium since the beginning of the season. Now we will continue to work hard; third is good but my goal is to win.”
RIDERS PODIO MX2
Pauls Jonass: “It is nice to start the season with six wins from six motos but motocross is never easy! Many people at home have been saying ‘that looked like an easy race for you…’ but every moto is difficult. You need to stay focussed. This weekend was not easy because Jorge was there in the first moto all the time and in the second Darian, Jorge and Thomas were close! I tried not to make any big mistakes and stayed calm to control the race. I enjoyed the track today.”
Jorge Prado: “It was a good weekend and I am happy with my second place. The first moto was good, the second I struggled a bit but we’ve been working hard so I’m pleased. For sure everybody wants to win here and Pauls is difficult to beat! Lately he has been riding even better than usual. So we’ll keep trying!”
Thomas Kjer-Olsen: “There are lots of positives to take from this GP and I’m happy with the progress we’ve made. I felt good all weekend here in Spain. I didn’t get the best of starts in the opening moto and this made everything harder for me. Fortunately, my start was a lot better in moto two and I could really show my speed. I am a little bit disappointed I went down while I was running second. I was in a very good position to push Jonass for the lead. Overall, my speed was really good this weekend and my fitness as well. We continue working hard and I’m looking forward to the following round in Italy now.”
Tim Gajser: I would say today was not so bad. It has definitely been an improvement from Valkenswaard; the riding was better and so was the feeling, although obviously we’re still not where we’d like to be – but we take this sixth place. I want to thank the team because the bike was amazing, now it’s up to me to work hard to get back to the level I know I can ride at. I think together we can soon get some great results. Now I look forward to Arco, where I’m sure there’ll be a lot of support from my home fans – who always get there in great numbers.
Gautier Paulin: “Overall, I am pretty happy with how things went at this GP. The team have been doing an awesome job with the development of my FC 450 and it all pays off at the races. In the opening moto I got a good start and was battling for the top three but a crash dropped me further back. I got up pretty quick and managed to put myself back into the top five, but after a second small crash I finished the race in seventh place. My second moto was a lot better and it felt great to lead for the first few laps. If it wasn’t for my crashes in the opening moto, the overall podium was well within our reach this weekend.”
Romain Febvre: “Overall, I had a good weekend. I was only just off the podium, which is good. I know my speed is good, my starts were also good. I just need to be a little bit better.”
