Lawrence come il futuro di Suzuki MX2 sembra ofuscato!
Il titolare di pole position e secondo vincitore dei manche all’ultimo giro del GP a Villars sous Ecot e il Gran Premio Pays de Montbeliard, Hunter Lawrence, ha rifiutato di esporre le voci che circondano la sua situazione contrattuale per il 2018. Il pilota del Team Suzuki ha goduto di una corsa dominante dalla sua prima fase alla fine di una stagione di esordio nella classe MX2 che ha visto l’australian a colpi di alti e bassi; le finali del podio in Germania, negli Stati Uniti e in Francia sono questi momenti.
“Dovrete aspettare di vedere”, era tutto quello che ha offerto alla conferenza stampa di sabato quando gli si chiedevano informazioni o chiarimenti sul suo futuro. Lawrence ha un altro anno con il Team Suzuki e sulla RM-Z250 ma un sacco di discorsi nel paddock mettono in dubbio il futuro dell’ala MX2 di Stefan Everts. Jeremy Seewer si trasferirà in MXGP per il 2018 e non ci sono stati chiarimenti per Lawrence e il terzo pilota MX2 Bas Vaessen.
Quando si chiedeva di commentare al dieci volte il campione del mondo Everts, poteva solo osservare che ci sarà un comunicato stampa che avrebbe rivelato tutti i dettagli nelle prossime settimane sulla prossima stagione, con molte speculazioni sulla stabilità della squadra che ha lanciato per il successo del campionato del mondo quest’anno.
Lawrence è stato collegato in sella alla Geico Honda in AMA Motocross e Supercross nel 2019 ma potrebbe aderire a Vaessen in una nuova unità MX2 Honda formata dall’attuale HRC Giacomo Gariboldi e guidata dall’ex campione del mondo WMX Livia Lancelot. Lawrence è rappresentato dall’agenzia sportiva internazionale Wasserman Media Group, che presumibilmente segue la destinazione e le condizioni del suo contratto per il prossimo anno.

Lawrence coy as Suzuki MX2 future looks bleak
Pole Position holder and second moto winner at the last round of MXGP at Villars sous Ecot and the Grand Prix Pays de Montbeliard, Hunter Lawrence, declined to expound on rumours surrounding his contract situation for 2018. The Team Suzuki rider enjoyed a dominant run to his first Pole at the end of a debut season in the MX2 class that has seen the teenage Australian hit highs and lows; podium finishes in Germany, the USA and France being standout moments.
“You’ll have to wait and see,” was all he would offer in Saturday’s press conference when asked for information or clarification on his future. Lawrence has another year on his deal with Team Suzuki and on the RM-Z250 but plenty of talk in the paddock puts the future of the MX2 wing of Stefan Everts’ set-up in doubt. Jeremy Seewer will move up to MXGP for 2018 and there had been little clarification for both Lawrence and third MX2 rider Bas Vaessen.
When quizzed for comment ten times world champion Everts could only remark that a press release will reveal all details in the coming weeks but speculation is intense over the stability of the team that vied for world championship success this year.
Lawrence has been linked with a Geico Honda saddle in AMA Motocross and Supercross in 2019 but could join Vaessen in a new MX2 Honda unit formed by current HRC principal Giacomo Gariboldi and headed by former WMX World Champion Livia Lancelot. Lawrence is represented by international sports agency Wasserman Media Group who are allegedly working out the destination and terms of his racing for the forthcoming year.
