(Villars-sous-Écot) Pays de Montbéliard, Francia, 13 settembre 2017 – Il calendario 2017 MXGP ha raggiunto le parti più lontane del globo e questo fine settimana è giunto all’ultimo round del campionato che si terrà nel centro del motocross della Francia . Il 19 ° turno dei 19 si terrà presso il bellissimo circuito Villars sous Ecot per il GP del Pays de Montbéliard.

La superficie dura e difficile sarà sicuramente ostica per i piloti, come nella ultima visita nel 2015 sarà una sorprendente corsa. Mentre Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Antonio Cairoli è il campione 2017, egli avrà ancora voglia di lottare in particolare contro il compagno di squadra Jeffrey Herlings in piena forma che ha vinto gli ultimi due turni di fila. Mentre nella MX2 la caccia al titolo è ancora molto viva tra Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Pauls Jonass e Jeremy Seewer del Team Suzuki del Mondo MX2 con un deficit di 41 punti, ma tutto è possibile nelle gare di motocross.

Sia il round finale del Campionato del Mondo di Motocross femminile e il Campionato Europeo Motocross 250 si uniscono alla MXGP e MX2 per la Finale francese. Classe delle donne è in una corsa a quattro per il titolo con solo 5 punti tra Nancy Van de Ven, Kiara Fontanesi, Courtney Duncan, e la francese Livia Lancelot che ha deciso di porre fine alla sua impressionante carriera professionale in questo fine settimana a casa.

Mentre nel campionato EMX250 Morgan Lesiardo e Simone Furlotti saranno in battaglia per il titolo in quanto sono separati da 26 punti. (Tramite un messaggio di Furlotti sui socia, riguardo il forfait al GP, Lesiardo è automaticamente Campione Europeo 2017.)

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Antonio Cairoli è stato incoronato Campione del Mondo MXGP, per la 9° volta nella sua carriera, lo scorso fine settimana ad Assen. Il veterano di questo sport avrà un weekend senza pressione per correre, con se stesso e con Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Jeffrey Herlings che sarà senza dubbio a lottare per la vittoria e l’orgoglio che viene con esso.

Herlings si è assicurato il secondo posto in campionato con la sua vittoria lo scorso fine settimana ad Assen ed è desideroso di finire la sua stagione su una nota alta con un’altra vittoria. Cairoli è arrivato terzo qui nel 2015, mentre Herlings ha vinto la classe MX2.

Per entrambi i piloti Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Gautier Paulin e Monster Energy Yamaha Factory di MXGP Romain Febvre questo fine settimana saranno al GP di casa. Febvre ha vinto questo GP  nella sua stagione da campione nel 2015, mentre Paulin ha lottato in passato con un 12° nel 2015 e 23° nel 2009. Paulin attualmente è il terzo nei punti appena davanti a Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team Clement Desalle.

Purtroppo per Desalle un incidente la scorsa settimana ad Assen lo ha costretto a concludere la sua stagione. In conseguenza alla mancanza di Desalle il terzo posto finale è garantito per Paulin e mantenere la sua terza posizione nel 2017 nel libro dei record.

Del Team HRC Tim Gajser ha un 5° posto nel campionato attualmente, ma si sta riprendendo da un incidente e colpo pesante ad Assen. Gajser si prevede di allinearsi questo fine settimana, ma può lottare per mantenere la sua posizione in zona punti con Febvre che è a soli 6 punti di distacco. L’ultima visita di Gajser al circuito nel 2015 è stata un successo anche se ha finito 2° nella MX2.

Energy Kawasaki Racing Team francese e Monster Jordi Tixier sarà assente dall’ ennesima gara di questa stagione, si siede fuori al round di casa per recuperare da infortuni subiti prima di quest’anno, ha terminato sul podio nel 2015.

Di HRC Evgeny Bobryshev entra nella ultima gara della stagione dopo aver lottato ad Assen, il russo, tuttavia, ha fatto bene in passato sul circuito di Villars quando ha segnato un 2° assoluto nel 2015.

Nella MX2 il pilota Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Pauls Jonass, ha avuto la possibilità di prendere il titolo lo scorso fine settimana ad Assen, ma non era in grado di farlo grazie al Team Suzuki World MX2 Jeremy Seewer. Seewer ha ancora il suo titolo in speranza, ma con solo una piccola possibilità che Jonass perderà il primo posto. Jonass arrivò 4° nel 2015, mentre nel complesso Seewer ha preso 8°.

I due rookie da tenere d’occhio sono Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Thomas Kjer Olsen,che è il terzo in campionato MX2 e il compagno di squadra di Jonas nel Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Jorge Prado Garcia dopo aver preso la sua terza vittoria complessiva del 2017 la scorsa settimana. Dal momento che sono entrambi rookie non hanno risultati precedenti al circuito e cercheranno di fare una buona prima impressione.

Il quarto pilota nella top 5 del campionato MX2 è Kemea Yamaha ufficiale del team MX Benoit Paturel. Purtroppo per Paturel un incidente in allenamento su questo circuito ha causato un fine stagione con infortunio. Il pilota francese MX2 ha finito 14° nel 2015.

Il pilota americano Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, Thomas Covington, ha avuto una forte ultime gare e si piazza nella top 5 dei punti. Covington è cresciuto su piste con terreno duro così il suo stile di guida può fare bene con il circuito di Villars sous Ecot.

Di LRT KTM Julien Lieber è un altro pilota da guardare, ora a soli 10 punti al di fuori della top five e lui ha dimostrato grande velocità ma gli errori lo hanno trattenuto nei risultati. Lieber ha corso nel circuito nel 2015 e ha finito 13°.

MXGP ready for French Finale

(VILLARS SOUS ECOT) Pays de Montbéliard, France, 13 September 2017 – The 2017 MXGP Calendar has reached the furthest parts of the globe and this weekend it is only fitting that the last round of the championship be held in the enthusiastic motocross hub of France. The 19th round of 19 will take place at the beautiful Villars sous Ecot circuit for the MXGP of Pays de Montbéliard.

The tricky hard pack surface will be sure to catch a few riders of guard but as in the last visit in 2015 it will provided amazing racing. While Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli is the 2017 champion, he will still want to battle especially against the fit teammate Jeffrey Herlings who has won the last two rounds in a row. While in MX2 the title chase is still very much alive between Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Pauls Jonass and Team Suzuki World MX2’s Jeremy Seewer who has a 41 point deficit but anything is possible in motocross racing.

Both the final rounds Women’s Motocross World Championship and the European Motocross 250 Championship join MXGP and MX2 for the French Finale. The Women’s class is in an intense four way race for the title with only 5 points between Nancy Van de Ven, Kiara Fontanesi, Courtney Duncan, and France’s Livia Lancelot who has decided to end her impressive professional career this weekend at home.

While in the EMX250 Championship Morgan Lesiardo and Simone Furlotti will be battle over the title as they are separated by 26 points.

 

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli was crowned MXGP World Champion, for the 9th time in his career, last weekend in Assen. The veteran of the sport will have a pressure free weekend of racing but both himself and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings will undoubtedly fight for the win and the pride that comes along with it.

Herlings has secured second 2nd in the championship with his win last weekend in Assen and is keen to finish his season on a high note with another victory. Cairoli finished third here in 2015 while Herlings won the MX2 class overall.

For both Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Gautier Paulin and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Romain Febvre this weekend will be a home GP. Febvre won this GP in his 2015 championship season while Paulin has struggled in the past with 12th in 2015 and 23rd in 2009. Paulin currently is third in the points standing just ahead of Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Clement Desalle.

Unfortunately for Desalle a crash last week in Assen ended his season. In result of Desalle missing the final round Paulin is guaranteed to maintain his third position in the 2017 record books.

Team HRC’s Tim Gajser has a top 5 spot in the championship currently but he is recovering from a crash and heavy hit in Assen. Gajser is expected to line up this weekend but may struggle to maintain his position in the points as Febvre is only 6 points behind. Gajser’s last visit to the circuit in 2015 was a successful one though as he finished 2nd in the MX2 overall.

Frenchman and Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Jordi Tixier will be absent from yet another race this season as he sits out the home round, which he finished on the podium at in 2015, to recover from injuries suffered prior this year.

HRC’s Evgeny Bobryshev comes into the last race of the season after struggling in Assen, the Russian however has done well in the past at the Villars circuit when he scored 2nd overall in 2015.

In MX2 the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider, Pauls Jonass, had the chance to take the title last weekend in Assen but he was unable to do so thanks to Team Suzuki World MX2’s Jeremy Seewer. Seewer still has his title hopes alive but with only a slim chance it looks as if Jonass will take the top spot. Jonass finished 4th in the 2015 overall while Seewer took 8th.

The two rookies to watch are Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s  Thomas Kjer Olsen who is third the MX2 championship and Jonass’ teammate Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado Garcia after taking his third overall victory of 2017 last week. Since they are both rookies they have no previous result to go off at the circuit and will be looking to make a good first impression.

The fourth rider in the top 5 of MX2 Championship is Kemea Yamaha Official MX Team’s Benoit Paturel. Sadly for Paturel a training crash at this circuit weeks ago caused a season ending injury. The French MX2 rider finished 14th in 2015.

The American Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider, Thomas Covington, has had a strong last few races to put himself into the top 5 of the points. Covington grew up on tracks with hard soil so his riding style may mesh well with the Villars sous Ecot circuit.

LRT KTM’s Julien Lieber is another rider to watch as he is now just 10 points outside the top five and he has shown great speed but mistakes have held him back in the results. Lieber raced the circuit in 2015 and finished 13th.
