Gajser torna in forma e nomina Herlings come sfidante più vicino a Cairoli

Il campione del mondo Tim Gajser ha guidato un Gran Premio per la prima volta dopo otto gare lo scorso fine settimana in Repubblica Ceca ed era sollevato per tornare a un livello di velocità e forma dopo i problemi d’infortunio. Il venticinque enne ha finito terzo in generale al tredicesimo appuntamento dell’anno e il risultato ha rappresentato il suo primo podio dal Grand Prix del Trentino in Italia nel mese di aprile.
Gasjer ha iniziato fortemente e ha vinto la prima manche, ma è stato catturato in modo insignificante e passato nella seconda gara a Loket. “Ho fatto dei piccoli errori e ho perso il ritmo ed è stato difficile tornare allo stesso ritmo” ha ammesso. “Tuttavia è stata la prima volta dopo settimane dove mi è piaciuto andare in moto”.
L’uomo HRC ha circolato con un infortunio alla spalla per due GP e poi si è fermato ed è tornato dopo aver superato in parte il problema, così scivola quinto nella classifica MXGP e 170 punti dietro Tony Cairoli con le sue speranze di un terzo titolo consecutivo ormai estinte. Cairoli siede davanti a Clement Desalle del Kawasaki di Monster Energy per 92 punti (con un massimo di 300 rimanenti in questa stagione) e 105 davanti al compagno di squadra Red Bull KTM Jeffrey Herlings; E’ il nome dell’olandese che è arrivato prima alle labbra di Gajser quando gli viene chiesto “chi sarebbe l’avversario più vicino al siciliano nella caccia al titolo?”.
“Jeffrey è stato veramente veloce negli ultimi due gp, forse Jeffrey … ma Clemente è lì”, ha detto. “Dipenderà dal giorno e chi ha la sensazione migliore sulla pista”.
Gajser è stato da tempo associato ad una mossa verso le gare AMA Supercross e Motocross e ha dichiarato apertamente il suo desiderio di tentare la serie basata negli stadi sull’Atlantico. Ha ancora due anni di tempo per il suo accordo HRC e, nonostante le buone probabilità di una sella americana sulla CRF450F che con Ken Roczen ancora in piena riabilitazione dalla suo infortunio multiplo al braccio, lo sloveno sembra raffreddare all’idea di una mossa immediata. Quando gli si pone la domanda dei suoi piani futuri, il numero #243 ride e dice: “Ho ancora alcune gare per questa stagione e non stiamo parlando perchè accada…”.
Quindi se vi aspettate Gajser in america….forse è presto….o tardi…..quindi per ora deve ritornare in forma per competere nei GP e poi….dovrebbe discutere per andare la e, apprendere la tecnica del Supercross, magari tipo Roczen che è partito dalla 250….insomma, per ora il discorso USA è accantonato!

Gajser back to form and cites Herlings as Cairoli’s nearest challenger
World Champion Tim Gajser led a Grand Prix for the first time in eight rounds last weekend in the Czech Republic and was relieved to return to a level of speed and form after a run of injury problems. The twenty year old finished third overall at the thirteenth fixture of the year and the result represented his first podium appearance since the Grand Prix of Trentino in Italy back in April.
Gasjer started strongly and won the first moto but was uncharacteristically caught and passed in the second race at Loket. “I made some small mistakes and lost the rhythm and it was hard to come back to the same rhythm,” he admitted. “[however] it was the first time in some weeks where I enjoyed riding the bike.”
The HRC man circulated with a shoulder injury for two GPs and then sat out another two meaning that he languishes fifth in the MXGP standings and 170 points behind Tony Cairoli with his hopes of a third consecutive title all but extinguished. Cairoli sits ahead of Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Clement Desalle by 92 points (with a maximum of 300 remaining this season) and 105 ahead of Red Bull KTM teammate Jeffrey Herlings; it was the Dutchman’s name that came first to Gajser’s lips when asked who would be the closest opponent for the Sicilian in the chase for his crown. “Jeffrey is really fast in the last couple of rounds so maybe Jeffrey…but Clement is also there,” he said. “It will depend on the day and who has the feeling on the track.”
Gajser has long been associated with a move to AMA Supercross and Motocross competition and has openly stated his desire to attempt the stadium-based series across the Atlantic. He still has two years left on his HRC deal and despite the good odds of an American CRF450F saddle opening up with Ken Roczen still to full rehab from his multiple arm break, the Slovenian seems to be cooling to the idea of an immediate move. When quizzed to his future plans #243 laughed and said: “[we] still some races to go [this season] and we are not talking about it.”
