Prado mira a più energia al debutto di Loket

Il tredicesimo round del Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross prenderà la volta del GP distintivo, scivoloso e veloce hard-pack di Loket, profondamente al confine occidentale della Repubblica Ceca, il pilota Red Bull KTM Jorge Prado si riallinerà alla sua prima stagione in MX2 dopo il suo attacco al terreno pietroso.
Il sedicenne è stato vittima del colpo di calore al Grand Prix della Lombardia e la condizione ha colpito la forma e il potenziale dell’adolescente di fronte al sostegno massiccio al GP portoghese della scorsa settimana, tenutosi solo sette giorni dopo il clima rigido di Ottobiano, dove le temperature erano ancora una volta elevate .
Prado, che ha lavorato in Belgio con la famiglia per quasi mezzo decennio, è rimasto nella sua regione natale della Galizia in Spagna dopo il dodicesimo round dello scorso fine settimana ed è stato contento del “riposo” di tre settimane nel calendario MXGP per recuperare molte energie.
Il 2017 è di gran lunga la più lunga stagione competitiva che Prado ha dovuto affrontare in quello che è solo il suo secondo anno in sella ad una moto a quattro tempi con la 250cc. Lo spagnolo ha generato una sensazionale prima stagione sconfiggendo un podio al suo debutto completo verso la fine del 2016 e ha già visto il podio due volte nel 2017 verso il suo compagno di squadra e leader del campionato MX2 Pauls Jonass; Uno dei trofei con la sua prima vittoria al quinto turno ad Arco di Trento, un risultato sorprendente considerando la sua preferenza per la sabbia rispetto ai terreni duri.
“Adesso sono un pilota da hard-pack, quindi dovrebbe essere buono!” Ha scherzato il giovane pilota riguardo la sua prossima sfida in Repubblica Ceca: uno dei punti principali della MXGP e anche uno dei più tristi. “Non sono mai stato a Loket, sarà qualcosa di nuovo per me. Guarderò i video e da quello che ho visto finora è come Arco così dovrebbe essere buono per me. Spero di poter caricare le batterie e di avere un buon GP perché è passato molto tempo da quando sono stato sul podio e mi manca veramente quella sensazione. So che posso farlo “.
Arco, ad aprile, è stata l’ultima volta che Prado ha assaggiato lo champagne e due Grands Prix lo hanno visto scendere all’ottavo posto nella classifica.

The thirteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship will take the MXGP circus to the distinctive slippery and fast hard-pack of Loket, deep to the western border of the Czech Republic and Red Bull KTM’s Jorge Prado will be re-aligning his first season in MX2 upon his maiden attack of the stony terrain.
The sixteen year old suffered with heatstroke at the Grand Prix of Lombardia and the condition affected the teenager’s form and potential in front of hefty home support at last week’s Portuguese round, held just seven days after the sweltering climate of Ottobiano and where temperatures were again high.
Prado, who has been based in Belgium with his family for almost half a decade, remained in his native Galicia region of Spain after round twelve last weekend and was glad of the three week summer-break ‘reprieve’ in the MXGP calendar to regain some energy and perspective.
2017 is by far the longest competitive season Prado has had to face in what is only his second year riding a 250cc four-stroke machine. The Spaniard created a stir by scoring a podium finish on his full GP debut towards the end of 2016 and has already walked the box twice in 2017 as teammate to MX2 championship leader Pauls Jonass; one of the trophies coming with his first victory at round five at Arco di Trento, a surprising achievement considering his preference for sand over hard-pack.
“Now I am a hard-pack rider so it should be good!” he joked of his forthcoming challenge in the Czech Republic: one of the staple fixtures on the MXGP slate and also one of the trickiest. “I have never been to Loket, it will be something new for me. I will be looking at videos and from what I have seen so far it is like Arco so should be good for me. I hope I can charge the batteries and have a good GP because it is a long time since I have been on the podium and I really miss that feeling. I know I can do it.”
Arco, in April, was the last time Prado uncorked champagne and two last difficult Grands Prix have seen him slip to eighth in the series standings.
