TOWNLEY TO RACE AT QATAR MXGP OPENER
Team Suzuki World MXGP e il pilota Ben Townley confermano di correre alla gara di apertura del Campionato del Mondo MXGP 2016 in Qatar alla fine del mese, dopo aver subito un infortunio al ginocchio nella gara internazionale di Valence, lo scorso fine settimana.
“Mi girai il mio ginocchio nella Super Finale e non mi sentivo bene, così ho deciso di ritirarmi dalla gara,” ha dichiarato Townley. Dopo un piccolo check-up, mi fu consigliato di dare al mio corpo il tempo di riposare e non guidare per un paio di giorni. “Sto andando a guidare Lunedi e Martedì di nuovo per preparare l’ MXGP del Qatar”, ha aggiunto Townely.
Il Kiwi è impaziente del Qatar. “Mi sono preparato per oltre nove mesi. Ho iniziato in quel momento ad essere pronto, ho avuto l’opportunità di tornare a correre. Sono molto impaziente di rivedermi in gara e all’inizio sarà solo una gara “, ha detto Townley. “Non ho alcuna aspettativa, Stefan e io abbiamo discusso molto e il mio obiettivo personale è quello di ottenere le migliori partenze possibili che posso fare, e vedere come posso guidare, così posso costruire da lì.”
General Manager Stefan Everts è anche soddisfatto che a Townley venga dato il via libera per correre. “Sono contento che era solo un lieve infortunio. Ora possiamo avere tutta la squadra MXGP in Qatar. Abbiamo una grande nuova linea di set-up e sono entusiasta di iniziare la stagione “, ha detto Everts.
La stagione MXGP prenderà il via a Losail International Circuit in Qatar il 27 febbraio.

Team Suzuki Press Office – February 19. “I twisted my knee in the Super Final and it didn’t feel good so I decided to retire from the race,” said Townley. After a small check up, he was advised to give his body time to rest and not ride for a couple of days. “I’m going to ride Monday and Tuesday again to prepare for the MXGP of Qatar,” Townely added. The Kiwi is looking forward to Qatar. “ I’ve been preparing myself for over nine months now. I started at that time to be ready, if I had the opportunity to race again that I got. I’m very much looking forward to lining-up at the start and just race,” Townley said. “I don’t have any expectations, Stefan and I have discussed this a lot and my personal goal is to get the best possible starts I can, and that I can ride within myself so I can build up from there on.” General Manager Stefan Everts is also pleased with Townley being given the go-ahead to race. “I’m happy that it was only a minor injury. Now we can have the whole MXGP team in Qatar. We have a great new race set-up and I’m excited to start the season,” said Everts. The MXGP season will kick off at Losail International Circuit in Qatar on February 27th. |
