SHAUN SIMPSON SI UNISCE WILVO FORKRENT KTM
Una delle squadre leader in corse fuoristrada, Wilvo Forkrent KTM, ha confermato la firma del due volte campione nazionale e del Regno Unito, miglior pilota Gran Premi Shaun Simpson per il 2016.
Simpson, 27 anni da Gauldry, Scozia, riceverà supporto tecnico diretto da KTM per la prossima stagione, egli mira a consolidare la sua posizione tra i primi cinque nella classe regina del FIM Campionato Mondiale Motocross, così come il suo status di grande vincitore di GP. SHAUN SIMPSON JOINS WILVO FORKRENT KTM
One of the leading teams in off-road racing, Wilvo Forkrent KTM, have confirmed the signature of double national champion and the UK’s top Grand Prix rider Shaun Simpson for 2016.
Simpson, 27 years old from Gauldry, Scotland, will receive direct technical support from KTM for the next season as he aims to consolidate his position in the top five in the premier class of the FIM Motocross World Championship as well as his status as a Grand Prix winner. Unbeaten on UK soil in 2015, Simpson’s services were highly sought-after for the next racing campaign and the agreement with the Belgian and Dutch GP victor is a statement of intent by Wilvo Forkrent KTM and Team Owner Steve Turner.
After progressing in facilities, infrastructure, profile and status in the past four seasons Wilvo Forkrent KTM have now strengthened their bond even further with the prolific Austrian manufacturer and in particular the racing department at Mattighofen, headed by Pit Bierer. Simpson is presently the brand’s top ranking athlete in MXGP and recently confirmed fourth position in the standings despite having to sit out the GP at Glen Helen after his big crash in the qualifying race.
“I’ve wanted Shaun as part of the team for a couple of years now but it wasn’t possible. I could see how well he was doing but felt that he could improve further if certain things were put in place which would give him the opportunity to compete with the factory boys on more of a level playing field. I was determined to secure the level of support he deserved and thanks to KTM and my own sponsors, particularly title sponsor Wilvo, I was able to make it happen.” revealed Turner. “Shaun has proved that he can win and is very consistent, he has been the real deal in 2015. What he has done in the British Championship is impressive but to get those results in Grand Prix has really turned a lot of heads. Shaun is still under contract with his current team until the end of November so we’re busy putting things in place in order for us to be ready to kick things off in December”
