Appena terminato il campionato National 2015, c’è stato l’annuncio di Justin Barcia e il Team AutoTrader.com/Toyota/JGR Yamaha hanno raggiunto un accordo che li vedrà legati sino al 2018.
Questo accordo lega l ‘impegno di Joe Gibbs Corsa a questo sport per lungo termine. Ci sono voci che volano su un possibile ritorno del Team Yamaha come un supporto Factory 450, ma JGR prevede chiaramente di rimanere una squadra di corsa di alto livello 450 a sé stante.
Dopo aver saltato mezzo Campionato SX a causa di un infortunio, Barcia ha lottato sino all’ultima gara per il titolo National, vincendo due gare e svariate manche, chiuso in terza posizione, è stato anche selezionato come capitano del Team USA per il prossimo MXoN che si terrà sul tracciato di Ernèe.
“Ci sentiamo come se Justin sia una grande aggiunta alla nostra famiglia e anche se era sotto contratto fino al 2016 abbiamo deciso di estendere il suo accordo con noi a lungo termine”, ha detto il proprietario del team Coy Gibbs.
“Mi piacciono molto i ragazzi della squadra e l’atmosfera generale qui, ora non devo pensare a niente ma alla guida e ad allenarmi per un lungo periodo di tempo. Andiamo tutti d’accordo alla grande e sono in pompa “, ha detto Barcia.

Justin Barcia and AutoTrader.com/Toyota/JGR Yamaha have agreed to an extension through the 2018 season, the team announced today. This deal stamps the commitment of Joe Gibbs Racing to this sport for the long-term. There are rumors flying about a possible return of Team Yamaha as a factory 450 effort, but JGR clearly plans to remain a top-tier 450 race team in its own right.
Barcia finished third overall in 450MX, tying a career-high, and was also selected to represent Team USA at the 2015 Motocross of Nations in Ernee, France.
“We feel like Justin is a great addition to our racing family, and even though he was under contract through 2016 we wanted to extend his agreement with us long-term,” said team owner Coy Gibbs.
“I really like the guys on the team and the overall atmosphere here, now I don’t have to think about anything but riding and training for a long time. We all get along great and I’m pumped,” said Barcia.
