Guillod entusiasta MXGP sfida per il 2016

In Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube sono nel caldo della battaglia per il titolo 2015 FIM Motocross MX2 con Valentin Guillod ma stanno già mettendo i primi piani per il loro trasferimento nella divisione MXGP con la YZ450F per il 2016.

Guillod, vincitore di tre Gran Premi quest’anno sul YZ250F, è tenuto a passare nella classe regina a causa del 23° anno di età ‘tetto’ per la sua categoria in corso e ha confermato la sua intenzione di fare il suo debutto MXGP in quello che sarà una terza stagione con la squadra belga di proprietà e diretto da Tim Mathys.

“E ‘bello continuare con Standing Construct Yamaha e anche con Yves [Demaria, mentore e allenatore], perché alla fine del 2012 ha preso il rischio di formare una persona che non era buona e si è rivelata bene. Alla fine del 2013 nessuno ha voluto firmare con me e solo Tim è venuto e mi ha proposto un accordo “, ha commentato lo svizzero. “Abbiamo iniziato questa stagione da zero con la moto e ora stiamo combattendo per il titolo così è davvero bello essere parte di questa squadra.”

Yamaha Standing Construct Yamalube si espanderà per una struttura con tre rider – con Julien Lieber ha firmato per rimanere – per mantenere la loro direzione e mettere a fuoco come uno dei front-runners in MX2 con la YZ250F, ma sarà anche la manodopera diretta ed attenzione per contribuire a rendere proficuo Guillod sulla moto più grande.

“Yamaha ci ha portato a ottenere risultati con YZ250F e penso che abbiamo fatto abbastanza bene,” ha valutato Tim Mathys. “Abbiamo già vinto tre GP e abbiamo più podi con entrambi i piloti. L’idea per il prossimo anno è stata per impostare di nuovo una buona struttura per la MX2 e credo che abbiamo quello, ma Valentin vuole rimanere con la Yamaha e gli piace la moto ancora di più, gli piace la collaborazione con il team nel corso degli ultimi due anni e mezzo. Inizialmente abbiamo individuato Valentin come un pilota che abbiamo voluto mettere a lavorare nel 2012 e abbiamo quasi concluso l’affare ma fattori al di fuori del nostro controllo ha fatto sì che non sia successo. Così sono stato felice che sia venuto a bordo alla fine del 2013 e stiamo andando verso l’alto da allora “.

“Con Yamaha Motor Europe siamo riusciti a trovare una soluzione per andare in MXGP con lui”, aggiunge. “Sono veramente orgoglioso, e io lo rispetto ancora di più perché ha scelto il gruppo al posto del denaro e so che aveva alcune grandi offerte per allontanarsi. Penso che dimostra che diamo il 100%, che ascoltiamo i piloti, che abbiamo fiducia reciproca l’uno nell’altro ed è per questo che saremo in MXGP “.

“Essere in grado di mantenere Valentin in ‘Blu’ e migliorare la nostra MXGP line-up era una priorità per noi e sono molto felice ed emozionato che la disposizione è arrivato insieme e tutti noi, siamo già curiosi di sapere del 2016,” ha dichiarato Yamaha Motor Europa MX Direttore Erik Eggens. “Certo che Valentin abbia una fantastica opportunità in MX2 per i restanti quattro Gran Premi del 2015 ed è rassicurante e molto promettente per Yamaha che starà a fare il passo in MXGP con la YZ450F.”

Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube are in the heat of battle for the 2015 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship title with Valentin Guillod but are already putting tentative first plans into place for their move into the MXGP division with the YZ450F for 2016.

Guillod, winner of three Grands Prix this year on the YZ250F, is obliged to head into the premier class due to arriving at the twenty-three year age ‘ceiling’ for his current category and had confirmed his intention to make his MXGP debut in what will be a third season with the Belgian crew owned and helmed by Tim Mathys.

“It is great to continue with Standing Construct Yamaha and also with Yves [Demaria, mentor and trainer] because at the end of 2012 he took the risk to train someone who wasn’t good and it turned out well. At the end of 2013 nobody wanted to sign me and only Tim came and proposed a deal,” the Swiss commented. “We started this season from zero with the bike and now we are fighting for the title so it is really cool to be part of this team.”

Yamaha Standing Construct Yamalube will expand to a three-rider structure – with Julien Lieber signed to stay – to maintain their direction and focus as one of the front-runners in MX2 with the YZ250F, but will also direct manpower and attention to help Guillod make a splash on the bigger machine.

“Yamaha took us on to get results with YZ250F and I think we have done pretty well,” assessed Tim Mathys. “We have already won three GPs and have more podiums with both riders. The idea for next year was to again set up a good structure for MX2 and I think we have that but Valentin wants to stay with the Yamaha and likes the bike and – even more – he likes the co-operation with the team during the last two and a half years. We originally spotted Valentin as a rider that we wanted to work with in 2012 and we almost had a deal but factors outside of our control meant that it didn’t happen. So I was happy he came onboard at the end of 2013 and we’ve been going upwards ever since.”

“With Yamaha Motor Europe we were able to find a solution to go to MXGP with him,” he adds. “I am really proud, and I respect him even more because he chose the group instead of the money and I know he had some big offers to move away. I think it proves that we give 100%, that we listen to the riders, that we have mutual confidence in each other and that’s why we will be in MXGP.”

“Being able to keep Valentin in ‘Blue’ and enhance our MXGP line-up was a priority for us and I’m very happy and excited that the arrangement has come together and all of us are already curious about 2016,” said Yamaha Motor Europe MX Manager Erik Eggens. “Of course Valentin has a fantastic chance in MX2 for the four remaining Grands Prix of 2015 and it is reassuring and very promising for Yamaha that he will be making the step into MXGP with the YZ450F.”
