Petar Petrov joins Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team
A seguito del recente infortunio di Dylan Ferrandis che purtroppo salterà il resto della stagione, il Team Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing MX2 ha firmato con il giovane bulgaro Petar Petrov per il restante della FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship.
Solo una settimana da oggi a Matterley Basin, Jordi Tixier e Thomas Covington saluteranno un nuovo compagno di squadra. A soli 20 anni, Petar ha già grande esperienza della classe MX2, corre i GP dal 2010 dopo i risultati promettenti nelle classi 85 e 125.
Per la prima volta nella sua carriera il giovane bulgaro correrà su una moto ufficiale. Dopo aver affermato diversi risultati nella top ten e un paio nei primi cinque in passato, Petar è pronto per un’altra sfida. Egli avrà diversi giorni di test per familiarizzare con la nuova moto e la nuova squadra, prima di trasferirsi in Gran Bretagna per competere nel settimo round della serie GP in programma per il 23 e il 24 maggio.
Jean Jacques Luisetti (Team Owner): “Abbiamo dovuto prendere una decisione veloce, vogliamo consegnare ai nostri partner e sponsor tre piloti al cancelletto di partenza per il prossimo GP. In questo momento della stagione pochissimi piloti di qualità sono disponibili. La buona sorte ci sorrideva e siamo stati in grado di selezionare Petar Petrov, un giovane pilota che darà ancora maggiore visibilità internazionale alla squadra. Lo aiuteremo a sentirsi come a casa, oltre ad offrire supporto per Dylan Ferrandis durante il suo periodo di recupero dopo l’intervento. ”

Following the recent injury of Dylan Ferrandis who will regrettably miss the rest of the season, team Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team has signed young Bulgarian Petar Petrov for the remaining of the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship.
Just a week from now at Matterley Basin, Jordi Tixier and Thomas Covington will greet a new teammate. Just 20 years old, Petar already has huge experience of the MX2 class as he raced the GP’s since 2010 after promising results in the 85 and 125 classes.
For the first time in his career the young Bulgarian will race on a factory bike. After claiming several top tens and a couple of top five results in the past, Petar is ready for another challenge. He will have several days of testing to become familiar with his new bike and new team before moving to Great Britain to compete in the seventh round of the GP world series scheduled for May 23rd and 24th.
Jean Jacques Luisetti (Team Owner): “We had to make a fast decision as we want to deliver our partners and sponsors three riders at the start gate for the next GP. At this time on the season very few top quality riders are available. Good fortune smiled on us and we were able to select Petar Petrov, a young rider who will give even more International exposure to the team. We’ll help him to feel like at home as well as offering support for Dylan Ferrandis during his recovery period following surgery.”
