Wilvo Forkrent KTM Adam Sterry si appresta a fare il suo debutto Mondiale Motocross durante il terzo round in Argentina il 28-29 Marzo. Sostituzione dell’ infortunato pilota MXGP Jake Nicholls, il 18 enne si unirà al team di competere nella classe MX2.
Con Nicholls messo da parte dopo aver subito un infortunio al braccio, mentre era in una gara di pre-stagione a La Chapelle Marival il mese scorso, e con le moto già in viaggio verso l’Argentina, Sterry era la scelta per unirsi al pilota MXGP Steven Frossard.
Sterry ha mostrato una forma molto impressionante la scorsa stagione conquistando il terzo posto assoluto sia nella MX2 inglese e Campionati Europei EMX250 e ha lavorato sodo in allenamento pre-stagione.
Commentando l’annuncio, il Team Manager Steve Turner ha detto: “Non vedo l’ora di vedere Adam competere contro i ragazzi dei GP in Argentina, abbiamo già programmato di inserire Adam in un certo numero di GP di tutta la stagione come preparazione per il 2016, quindi ha senso a cogliere l’occasione per dargli una prova precoce, tanto più che le moto di Jake sono già lì e con il telaio uguale per il 250 e 350 non ci resta che spedire i motori e scarichi di Adam. ”
Adam Sterry aggiunto: “Quindi sembra che il mio primo Campionato del Mondo MX2 GP è arrivato prima del previsto, sono davvero entusiasta. Con Jake infortunato mi è stata data l’opportunità di step-up e gara in Argentina. Non vedo l’ora di mostrare quello che posso fare e godere di ciò per cui ho lavorato quando inizio a correre. So che la mia velocità è buona, quindi sarà una grande esperienza per la fine di quest’anno e il 2016. Vorrei davvero ringraziare tutte le persone coinvolte per averlo reso possibile. ”
Wilvo Forkrent KTM rider Adam Sterry is set to make his World Motocross Championship debut during round three in Argentina on 28th-29th March. Replacing injured MXGP rider Jake Nicholls, the 18 year-old will join the team to compete in the MX2 class.
With Nicholls sidelined after sustaining a broken arm whilst competing in a pre-season race at La Chapelle Marival last month, and with the team bikes already on their way to Argentina, Sterry was the natural choice to join MXGP rider Steven Frossard.
Sterry showed some very impressive form last season taking third place overall in both the British MX2 and European EMX250 Championships and has been working hard in pre-season training.
Commenting on announcement, Team Manager, Steve Turner said: “I’m looking forward to seeing Adam competing against the GP regulars in Argentina. We already planned to enter Adam in a number of GP’s throughout the season as preparation for 2016 so it makes sense to take the opportunity to give him an early outing, especially as Jake’s bikes are already there and with the chassis being the same for the 250 & 350 we only have to ship Adam’s engines and exhausts.”
Adam Sterry added: “So it looks like my first MX2 World Championship GP has come sooner than expected which I’m really excited about. With Jake being injured I’ve been given the opportunity to step-up and race in Argentina. I’m looking forward to showing what I can do and enjoy what I’ve worked for since I started racing. I know my speed is good so it will be great experience for later this year and 2016. I would really like to thank everyone involved for making it possible.”
