GP del Brasile – Rider commenti
Il Gran Premio del Brasile è stato straordinario con la massiccia folla brasiliana che guardavano i più veloci piloti di motocross nel Mondo darsi battaglia. Ecco quello che molti dei piloti hanno commentato del loro weekend. La cosa disarmante, che è anche inutile commentarla, sono gli oltre 3 secondi che Tony Cairoli ha rifilato al secondo più veloce pilota in pista, tale Cairoli ha segnato un tempo di 2:00.51, mentre l’unico ad avvicinarsi è stato Kevin Strijbos con 2:03.773 in gara 1!!!!!!!
Tony Cairoli
“Questa pista mi piace molto e mi piace stare qui in Brasile con un sacco di gente cool che fa tifo. E ‘una pista molto tecnica e questo livello di difficoltà è stato aumentato dopo la pioggia che abbiamo avuto tra le due manche. Anche la pista quest’anno è stata lavorata troppo, ma era lo stesso per tutti. In qualche modo era buono perché era ancora più tecnica. E ‘bello essere di nuovo vincente come abbiamo fatto l’anno scorso. Ora ho 65 GP vinti, quindi è stato un altro grande risultato “.
Jeremy Van Horebeek
“Il mio fine settimana è andato molto bene e mi sentivo molto bene su questa pista. Abbiamo lavorato duramente con la squadra ancora una volta e la moto era fantastica. Sono riuscito a tirare una buona partenza nella prima manche e ha fatto le cose abbastanza facili. Stavo conducendo un paio di giri e poi Tony era dietro di me. L’ho lasciato passare perché sono ancora un po ‘nervoso stando davanti, io non sono ancora abituato a guidare li, ma lo sarò! Quando accadrà sono sicuro che posso tenerlo. Nella seconda manche ho dovuto rimontare da una brutta partenza.Penso di essere stato undicesimo o qualcosa del genere e ha lavorato il mio ritorno al quarto posto. Ho raggiunto la ruota posteriore di Clement, ma poi ha ‘tirato il grilletto’ lui è un duro. In ogni caso, siamo di nuovo sul podio. Volevo essere tra i primi cinque, per quanto possibile quest’anno, ma sembra che ho bisogno di pensare un po ‘più ora. Voglio mantenere i piedi per terra e continuare a lavorare duro. Spero di vincere un GP quest’anno. ”
Clement Desalle
“E ‘stata una buona gara, ma ho davvero dovuto lavorare per questo. La mia partenza non è stata male ma Nicholls mi ha bloccato ed era davvero difficile. Mi è venuto fuori il sesto posto, così poi ho dovuto spingere per arrivare secondo. Negli ultimi giri ho avuto un calo e quindi ho dovuto rallentare, ho bisogno di vedere il mio respiro un po ‘più attentamente. Potremmo avere la pioggia ogni Domenica, ma se la pista è preparata bene, non sarà un problema. Almeno spero, abbiamo avuto più linee perché il layout non è stato facile per i sorpassi. Sono sul podio, senza incidenti o infortuni, e questo è positivo. C’è voluto un po’ per tornare in condizione dopo l’infortunio ala spalla, sono contento di come procedono le cose. In gara faceva caldo ed era facile sbagliare, non che fosse difficile guidare, ma su quelle curve con la 450 dovevi essere preciso. Vorrei ringraziare il team che ha sempre lavorato veramente bene per crescere””
Gautier Paulin
“Oggi ho fatto due buone partenze, peccato per l’errore in curva nella prima manche. La moto era girata e mi ci è voluto del tempo per riavviarla. Dopo la caduta ero 14°, ho perso il podio del GP. Ho recuperato fino al sesto, e con la pioggia nella seconda parte di gara è stata dura. Ci sono anche i lati positivi; le partenze sono state buone e in manche 2 ho chiuso secondo. Ora torniamo in Europa e dopo i tre GP oltreoceano le motivazioni sono sempre forti. Sono pronto a combattere per dare il meglio alla squadra”
Steven Frossard
“In tutte le gare sono partito molto male, dovrò lavorarci sopra. In race 1 ho scelto un canale in una curva, ma una volta inserita la moto il canale si è sfondato e sono caduto. Ho speso molto per riaccendere la moto. Race 2 è andata mglio anche se sono di nuovo caduto. il ritmo gara era buono e avevo un feeling migliore. I grosso problema di questo weekend è che ho sofferto il caldo e l’umidità. I primi dieci minuti sono stati terribili, sono sicuro di aver perso dai tre ai quattro secondi al giro. E’ stato peggio che in Thailandia, qui l’umidità era decisamente più forte”
Kevin Strijbos
“Ho spinto al massimo per fare una lacuna nella parte anteriore ed era di otto-dieci secondi a un certo punto. Ho avuto un po ‘di braccia dure così alla fine sembrava facile ma non lo era! Nel complesso però è stata una buona giornata – sia in MXGP e MX2 e dobbiamo cercare di ripetere. La mattina non riuscivo davvero a trovare le mie linee, ma abbiamo apportato alcune modifiche per la gara e ha funzionato. Tutti sono felici in questo momento e stiamo provando il nostro meglio. Come ho detto prima mi piace il Brasile e questo circuito. E ‘bello correre davanti al pubblico qui. Bisogna andare a podio più spesso. ”
Rui Gonçalves
Rui Gonçalves “Sono felice. Oggi ho avuto buone partenze e giri solidi e ho guidato un po ‘di più nella top ten. Nella prima manche ho dovuto buttare i miei occhiali via con due giri dalla fine così ho perso il contatto con le posizioni nono e ottavo. Ho dovuto accontentarmi del decimo. Nella seconda manche la partenza era OK e ho recuperato fino al settimo posto negli ultimi giri. Sono decisamente felice. Le cose sono migliorate dal Qatar e questo è ciò che stiamo cercando. Abbiamo iniziato in ritardo per il 2014 ma stiamo recuperando in fretta, è promettente. Non posso ringraziare la squadra abbastanza. Stanno facendo un ottimo lavoro e mi sostengono al 100%. ”
David Philippaerts
“Mi sento stanco! Sono contento con la prima manche e guidavo bene. Ho perso tempo all’inizio, perché mi ci è voluto un po ‘per stabilirsi in gara. Non ho gareggiato molto in realtà, perché abbiamo avuto problemi di carburante in Thailandia e non ho fatto nulla. Ho anche avuto la caduta ieri in qualifica e ha dovuto fermarmi! Così abbiamo avuto meno manche rispetto agli altri piloti. Nella seconda manche stavo perdendo un po ‘di tempo nelle curve e correvo ad una velocità intorno alla top ten. Mi sentivo un po ‘stanco e le mie mani soffrivano con tagli e vesciche. E ‘stato difficile rimanere sulla moto ed essere veloce. Ho finito la gara e questo era importante. La moto andava così bene e sono davvero contento di questo. Abbiamo fatto un sacco di lavoro e di guida nelle ultime due settimane, circa sette ore, e penso che potrei avere un po ‘di stanchezza da questo. Ora dobbiamo concentrarci sui nostri obiettivi e sappiamo che sarà possibile essere nella top ten ogni gara “.
Ilario Ricci:
”Peccato la fortuna in questo momento non ci aiuta, si poteva fare un bel risultato, sono soddisfatto di Guarneri che sta facendo un ottimo lavoro e ha dimostrato di saper andare molto forte, Tanel lo stiamo pian piano recuperando, sono ottimisti per le prossimi gare in Europa dopo dobbiamo migliorare e possiamo ottenere dei buoni risultati.”
Max Nagl
“Ero felice con la mia guida, sono stato veloce e avevo una buona tattica fisicamente, non so perché, ma per me è stato più difficile della Thailandia. Era un caldo strano oggi, è stato difficile per me durare la gara e quindi ho dovuto rallentare per non distruggere il mio corpo. Sono stato due volte top five, è ok ma di sicuro ci vogliamo spingere per il podio ogni volta. In parte ero giù per le partenze, perché se non sei con il gruppo, allora non hai nessuna possibilità, ed inoltre è stato difficile per me oggi, quindi questo è il motivo per cui non era possibile salire sul podio. Per Arco stiamo spingendo ancora di più per trovare una soluzione alle partenze perché è necessario stare davanti lì. Soprattutto con i primi cinque ragazzi, sono andati e non c’è nessuna possibilità di prenderli in gara, quindi dovremo lavorare per migliorare in questo settore. ”
Evgeny Bobryshev
“Nella seconda gara, sono caduto al secondo giro. Sono scivolato in una curvaa e sono andato fuori pista. Sono andato sopra la parte superiore del muro di sabbia e così ho perso l’anteriore. Quando sono caduto, Max era proprio dietro di me, così non aveva alcuna possibilità di muoversi, ho colpito la caviglia, così avevo davvero un sacco di dolore.Ho provato a tornare indietro, ma poi ho sbattuto di nuovo e ho mandato in stallo la moto. Sono davvero deluso con zero punti nella seconda gara. E ‘davvero frustrante. Ma guardo avanti, vado a vedere il medico per la mia caviglia di nuovo e controllare dopo questo fine settimana per verificare la guarigione, poi decido come prepararmi prima di Arco. ”

Arnaud Tonus
“Ciò che è successo oggi ha dell’indescrivibile: ho vinto la mia prima manche in un GP, il mio primo GP e per la prima volta in vita mia sono al comando del Mondiale. Sapevo che sarebbe stato possibile, ma dopo le difficoltà passate nelle ultime due stagioni, il primo obiettivo era semplicemente quello di conquistare il podio. gara1 è stata mentalmente difficile, sembrava dovesse durare due ore, ma ho suìbito creato un distacco e ho potuto controllare fio al traguardo. IN gara2 ho avuto un’altra buona partenza e trovato il giusto passo gara, una volta passato in seconda posizione ho cominciato a guidare teso perché sapevo che avevo le chance di vincere il GP. Ma sono riuscito a rimanere concentrato finendo il lavoro. Voglio ringraziare il team che mi supporta sempre, specialmente il titolare Jean Jacques Luisetti e Bruno Losito che ci danno sempre buoni consigli”.
Glen Coldenhoff
“Ogni vittoria non è mai facile! Ho spostato la mia strada verso la parte anteriore e una volta che ero lì era molto più facile per risparmiare qualche energia. E ‘stato davvero caldo oggi e non sono abituato a questo, ma sono sicuro che andrà tutto bene per le manche. Faremo del nostro meglio e provare davvero difficile. Di sicuro vogliamo la tabella rossa. Penso di essere uno dei favoriti, ma Tonus e Anstie sono veloci. Sarà un campionato difficile “.
Max Anstie
“Ho avuto un sacco di pattinamento in partenza e ho dovuto tornare da ultimo alla seconda. Ha reso le cose difficili. Ho pensato che sarebbe stata una gara fangosa a un certo punto. Il terreno era tecnico ma trovavo la sensazione di fare bene.Costruiremo da qui. Abbiamo avuto qualche test da fare, ma sento che abbiamo fatto un grande miglioramento dalla Thailandia a qui in termini di set-up. Qualsiasi pista se si tratta di supercross, sabbia, hard-pack, Lommel o in Italia, andrò veloce, è quello che mi piace fare e così faremo “.
Dylan Ferrandis
“Sabato ho avuto un po’ di difficoltà a trovare il giusto set-up delle sospensioni, non ho guidato bene, ma per domenica abbiamo trovato alcune soluzioni. Tuttavia in gara1 non sono partito bene, ero decimo o undicesimo, e ho recuperato fino alla seconda piazza. Invece in gara2 ho avuto uno spunto migliore dal cancelletto e superato Fevbre al primo giro. Sapendo che il fondo era scivoloso ho guidato accorto ma davanti alla pit lane ho fatto una stupida caduta. Sono scivolato in quinta posizione e ho passato in curva Arnaud, poi però sono caduto di nuovo e danneggiato la leva del freno. Ho dovuto fermarmi aio box per sistemarla e credo di aver perso circa 20 secondi. Sono ripartito 19° e ho chiuso 10°. Sono arrabbiato con me stesso perché sapevo di avere la velocità per vincere il GP. Ma continuerà a lavorare sodo”
Alessandro Lupino
“Altro weekend difficile. In gara 1 ho rotto la leva della frizione senza cadere. Probabilmente l’ha colpita una pietra, non so davvero spiegarmelo. Ero in seconda marcia ed è stato inpossibile continuare. In gara 2 stavo guidando meglio che nelle gare precedenti ma sono caduto quando ero al settimo posto. Ho perso alcune posizioni e pure gli occhiali, ma alla fine ho chiuso ottavo e portato a casa qualche punto”.
Jordi Tixier
“Non ho mai avuto un buon feeling con la pista questo fine settimana e anche io non ho avuto la velocità. Sono caduto tre volte in ogni gara e due volte ho finito dodicesimo quindi sono davvero deluso. In prova io sono buono, ma io non sono così bravo in gara quindi c’è qualcosa nella mia testa, devo cercare di risolvere. ”
Thomas Covington
” E ‘stato un week-end agitato di sicuro. Sono andato giù al primo giro della prima manche, ma nella seconda manche era meglio, ero nella top ten e mi ero spostato in avanti al settimo posto, poi ho avuto alcuni problemi con i doppiati, appena prima del triplo uno non ha saltato e sono caduto piuttosto male. Sono contento della mia seconda manche, e non vedo l’ora di un altra grande esperienza in Italia per il prossimo GP “.

Tony Cairoli
“I like this track a lot and I like being here in Brazil with a lot of cool people cheering. It’s a very technical track and this level of difficulty was increased after the rain we had between the two motos. Also the track this year was ripped way too much but it was the same for everyone. In some ways that was good because it was even more technical. It’s nice to be winning again like we did last year. Now I have 65 GP wins so it was another great result.”
Jeremy Van Horebeek
“My weekend went really well and I felt very good on this track. We worked hard with the team again and the bike was great. I managed to pull a good start in the first moto and it made things pretty easy. I was leading a few laps and then Tony was behind me. I let him past because I still get a bit nervous out front; I’m still not used to leading but I will be! When that happens I’m sure I can keep it. In the second moto I had to cut through from a bad start. I think I was eleventh or something and worked my way back to fourth. I reached Clement’s rear wheel but then he ‘pulled the trigger’ and he is a tough guy. Anyway, we are on the podium again. I wanted to be in the top five as much as possible this year but it seems I need to think a little bit further now. I want to keep my feet on the ground and keep working hard. I hope to win a GP this year.”
Clement Desalle
“It was a good race but I really had to work for it. My start wasn’t too bad but Nicholls blocked me really hard. I came out sixth instead of any further up, so then I had to push to reach second. In the last few laps I had a stitch so I had to slow down; I need to watch my breathing a bit more carefully tomorrow. We might have rain on Sunday but if the track is prepared well it won’t be a problem. At least I hope we have some more lines because the layout is not easy for overtaking.”
Gautier Paulin
“I got two good starts today, but I’m disappointed with the mistake I made in a corner during the first race. The bike was upside down and it took me too much time to restart. I lost the GP podium there, as I was fourteenth after this crash; I recovered to sixth, but it was tough with the rain during the second half of the race. But there were many positives this weekend; my starts were good, and in the second race I finished second. Now we go back to Europe and after the three overseas GPs I have the same motivation; I am ready to fight and I will give my best as well as the team to get the best results.”
Steven Frossard
“I had really bad starts this weekend in all the races, and that’s something I must improve. In the first moto I chose a rut in a corner, but just as I entered it the rut collapsed, I crashed and I used a lot of energy to restart the bike. My second race was better even though I crashed again; the rhythm was good and I had a better feeling. My main problem this weekend is that I suffered from the heat and the humidity; in the first ten minutes it was terrible and I’m sure that I lost three to four seconds a lap. That was worse this weekend than in Thailand, as the humidity was higher here.”
Glen Coldenhoff
“Any victory is never easy! I moved my way to the front and once I was there I took it bit easy to save some energy for tomorrow. It was really hot today and I’m not so used to that but I’m sure we’ll be fine for the motos. We will do our best and try really hard. For sure we want that red plate but last year here I also won the qualification heat and it didn’t mean much. I think I am one of the favourites tomorrow but Tonus and Anstie are also fast. It will be a tough competition.”
Max Anstie
“I had a lot of wheelspin at the start and had to come back from last in the second one. It made things difficult. I thought it would be a mud race at one point. It could have swung either way. We will keep banging away and finding the feeling to do well. We will build from here. We have got some testing to do when we get back but I feel we have made a big improvement from Thailand to here in terms of set-up. Any track whether it is supercross, sand, hard-pack, Lommel or Italy I will go fast; it is what I like to do and what we will do.”
Kevin Strijbos
“I pushed hard to make a gap at the front and it was eight-10 seconds at one point. I had a bit of arm-pump so in the end it looked easy but it wasn’t! Overall though it was a good day – both in MXGP and MX2 – and we have to try and repeat it tomorrow. In the morning I couldn’t really find my lines but we made some changes for the race that worked out. Everybody is happy at the moment and we are trying our best. As I’ve said before I like Brazil and this circuit. It is great to race in front of the public here. It will be special to make it three podiums in a row tomorrow.”
Shaun Simpson
“If you crash four times in two motos then you are not going to do a lot! My starts let me down today big-time. We seem to be nailing them on occasions and then being way-off on others; so we’ve got some work to do on that because starts were crucial today. In the first race, even with no front brake, my pace is great but to fall off twice after a worse start in the second was not good. 15-13; not what I was looking for really especially when I felt like I could have done something decent. Lyng next week and I’ll have to make sure I’m ready for it…but it is a track I like. I’m looking forward to getting back to Europe.”
Rui Gonçalves
Rui Gonçalves “I’m happy. Today I had pretty good starts and solid laps and was riding a bit more in the top ten. In the first moto I needed to throw my goggles away with two laps to go so I lost the contact with ninth and eighth positions. I just had to settle for tenth. In the second moto the start was OK and I got up to seventh in the final laps. I’m definitely happy. Things have been improving since Qatar and that is what we are looking for. We started late for 2014 but we are catching up quickly, which is promising. I cannot thank the team enough. They have been doing a great job supporting me 100%.”
David Philippaerts
“I feel tired! I’m happy with the first moto and was riding well. I lost time at the beginning because it took me a while to settle into the race. I haven’t raced much actually because we had the fuel problems in Thailand so hardly did anything there. I also had the crash yesterday in the heat race and had to stop! So we’ve had less motos than the other riders. In the second moto I was losing a bit of time in the corners and was running a speed around the top ten. I was feeling a bit tired and my hands where also cutting up with blisters. It was hard to stay on the bike and be fast. I finished the race and this was important. The bike was working so good and I’m really happy about this. We had done a lot of work and riding in the past two weeks, around seven hours, and I think I might have a bit of fatigue from this. Now we have to focus on our goals and I know it is for-sure possible to be in the top ten every race.”
Arnaud Tonus
“What happened today didn’t really sink in yet as I won my first ever GP moto, my first GP overall and lead the World Championship for the first time in my life ! For sure I knew that it was possible, but after the difficulties of the last two seasons the first goal was simply to reach a podium. In the first race it was difficult mentally and the race felt like it lasted for two hours, but I quickly made a gap and could control the race to the finish line. In the second race I had another good start, and found a good rhythm when I was third, but when I took over second place I started to ride a little tense as I knew that I had the chance to win the GP. But I managed to pull myself together, stay focused and get the job done! I want to thanks the team who support me always, especially team owner Jean Jacques Luisetti and Bruno Losito who gives us since the beginning of the season good advices.”
Dylan Ferrandis
“I had some troubles to find the best suspension settings on Saturday so my riding was not so great, but we found some solutions for Sunday. I didn’t get the best of starts in race one and I was maybe tenth or eleventh but I recovered to second so I was happy with my riding. In the second moto I had a great start and passed Febvre on the first lap; I knew that it was slippery and rode carefully but in front of the pit lane I had a stupid crash. I got back on fifth and passed Arnaud in a corner but then I had another crash which damaged the brake lever and stopped in the pits to repair it. I lost maybe twenty seconds and then had to come back from nineteenth to tenth. I’m frustrated as I know that I had the speed to win this GP, but we’ll continue to work hard.”
Alessandro Lupino
“It was another tough weekend for me. In the first moto I broke the clutch level without even crashing; maybe a stone hit the lever but I can’t explain what happened ! I was in second gear and it was impossible to continue like that, so I hoped the second moto would be better. I was riding better than in the previous races this year, but I crashed when I was in seventh position; I lost a few positions and my goggles, but still finished eighth to at least score some more points.”
Jordi Tixier
“I never had a good feeling for the track right through this weekend and I also didn’t have the speed. I crashed three times in each race and twice I finished twelfth so I am really disappointed. In practice I am good but I am not so good in the race so it is something in my head I have to try to sort out.”
Max Nagl
“I was happy with my riding; I was smooth and had a good tactic when passing other but physically, I don’t know why but for me it was harder than Thailand. It was a strange heat today – it was hard for me to last in the race so I had to slow down to not destroy my body. I had two times a top five result – it’s ok but for sure we are pushing for the podium every time. In part it was down to the starts because if you’re not with the group then you have no chance, and also it was tough for me today so this is why it wasn’t possible to get on the podium. For Arco we’re pushing even more to find a solution to the starts because you need to be up front there. Especially the first five guys, they’re gone and there is no chance to catch them in the race, so we will work to improve in this area.”
Evgeny Bobryshev
“In the second race, I crashed on the second lap. I just slide in the corner and went off the track. I went over the top of the berm so I just lost the front. When I crashed, Max was right behind me so he had no chance to move so he hit my bad ankle, so then I had really a lot of pain. I tried to come back but then I hit it again and then I stalled the bike. I’m really disappointed with zero points in the second race. It’s really frustrating. But looking forward, I go to see the doctor about my ankle again to check it after this weekend and check the healing, and then we decide my training before Arco.”
Thomas Covington
“It was a rough weekend for sure. I went down on the first lap of the first moto, but the second moto was better as I was in the top ten and had moved forward to seventh before I had some problems with the lappers; just before a triple a lapper didn’t jump and I crashed pretty hard. I’m happy with my second moto, and I’m looking forward to another great experience in Italy for the next GP.”
