BETO CARRERO (Brasile), 30 mar 2014 – Il terzo round del FIM Motocross World Championship ha preso il via in una pista tropicale di Beto Carrero MXGP, Brasile. Non sarebbe un Gran Premio del Brasile, senza qualche goccia di pioggia, la pioggia scende durante i giri finali di MXGP, era un po ‘prevista. Mentre le nuvole nere hanno continuato a incombere sul suggestivo circuito di Beto Carrero, la pioggia ha infatti tenuto a bada per la maggior parte sia la MXGP che MX2 in gara due. Del Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Antonio Cairoli era su un altro livello oggi a Beto Carrero. Il sette volte campione del FIM Motocross di grande talento mondiale ha sollevato la folla in piedi oggi, con due corse molto stimolanti, pressando molte delle più grandi minacce al titolo di MXGP e vincere entrambe le manche con facilità.

Clement Desalle di Rockstar Energy Suzuki Mondiale ha portato a casa il secondo posto assoluto in tipico stile Desalle, super liscio con due terzi posti. Il vice campione del mondo in carica si è ora spostato dalla quinta posizione nella classifica del campionato al quarto posto, trascinando Gautier Paulin e Jeremy Van Horebeek per un solo punto.

Risultato ottimo e un altro podio per Jeremy Van Horebeek di Yamaha Factory Racing grazie alla sua performance fenomenale in gara uno dove ha chiuso un secondo posto dietro il campione Tony Cairoli. In gara due, il belga, solo al suo secondo anno nella classe MXGP, recupera da un paio di errori che lo hanno visto cadere, nel tentativo di tornare in pista, è riuscito a compensare i suoi errori e finire quarto per il terzo complessivo.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team Gautier Paulin ha fatto un recupero notevole in gara uno dopo l’assunzione del Foxhead Holeshot per perdere poi il vantaggio a causa di un incidente sulla difficile sezione nel retro della pista. Dopo la rimonta ad un sorprendente settimo posto in gara uno, il francese volante teneva su due ruote in gara due per finire secondo con un quarto assoluto.

A completare i primi cinque in questo fine settimana di MXGP, del Team HRC Max Nagl ha trascorso la maggior parte delle sue gare con brutte partenze rendendo la vita difficile. Mentre la sua velocità era lì, il determinato tedesco ha lottato per fare passaggi che lo avrebbe portato solo ad un quarto e quinto per il quinto complessivo.

E ‘stato un lungo tempo per CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy Arnaud Tonus , ma il giorno è finalmente arrivato. Usando il suo stile elegante liscio, il talento svizzero ha vinto la MX2 gara uno e finito secondo in gara due per rivendicare la sua prima vittoria in MX2 Grand Prix, facendo la storia come il primo pilota svizzero a farlo. Oltre a vincere il Gran Premio del Brasile MX2, Tonus ha rivendicato la tabella rossa FIM MX2 Campionato del Mondo, e lui è il primo pilota dopo più di 25 mesi.

Top della MX2 qualifica Glenn Coldenhoff di Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe ha faticato a trovare il suo ritmo in gara 1 ammettendo “il mio piano d’attacco era quello di rimanere indietro finché non ho trovato le mie linee, ma quando era il momento di andare, non riuscivo a trovare il mio ritmo” , cioè l’altro favorito in MX2 torna a casa al quinto posto. Fortunatamente l’ olandese si è riscattato in gara due quando ha martellato l’acceleratore all’inizio del primo giro a prendendo il comando e andando a vincere di sette secondi davanti al vincitore Arnaud Tonus.

In piedi sul terzo gradino del podio per la seconda volta consecutiva di BikeIT Yamaha Cosworth Max Anstie che ha lottato per ottenere sulla linea oggi, a partire da entrambe le gare al di fuori della top ten. Dovendo cercare la sua strada attraverso il gruppo, la star britannica è riuscita a tornare per un rispettabile quarto posto in entrambe le manche per terzo assoluto.

CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy Dylan Ferrandis ha messo una prestazione eccezionale in gara uno da fuori dei primi cinque in avanti per prendere un secondo notevole dietro al compagno di squadra CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy Arnaud Tonus. Purtroppo in gara due, il pilota francese ha lottato nella creta ingannevolmente scivolosa, dopo una caduta che lo ha costretto ad andare ai box per alcune riparazioni alla sua KXF250. Anche se non è stato facile, il giovane è riuscito a salvare il decimo e prendere il quarto posto assoluto qui a Beto Carrero.

E ‘stata una giornata fantastica per Honda Gariboldi Tim Gajser con il suo undicesimo ed un eccezionale terzo posto per il quinto assoluto. Il 2012 EMX125 campione europeo nella corsa della sua vita in moto due, nel circuito di Beto Carrero per prendere il terzo posto, facendo di lui il miglior sloveno nella storia delle corse MX2.

Un altro campione europeo ha inizianto ad andare avanti in MX2, Construct KTM Valentin Guillod è stato con i primi ragazzi in gara uno per tornare al sesto. Nonostante un piccolo incidente in gara due, la stella nascente svizzera è riuscito a recuperare per un impressionante settimo posto, legando con Gajser per il quinto assoluto.

Con il due volte Campione del Mondo FIM MX2, del Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Jeffrey Herlings , fuori questo round, il campionato MX2 è stato capovolto. Tonus ha preso la sua prima vittoria di manche MX2, così come la vittoria MX2 Grand Prix a scrivere il suo nome nei libri di storia come il primo pilota svizzero a farlo.Tonus ora conduce il Campionato Mondiale MX2 con due punti di vantaggio su Coldenhoff in seconda, mentre Ferrandis scende in terza posizione finale. Intanto Jeffrey Herlings scende di nuovo al quarto posto, quindici punti dalla vetta. Aggiungendo al danno la beffa, era anche la prima volta in due anni che un pilota KTM non ce sul podio MX2.

Standing Ovation for Cairoli and Tonus in Brazil

BETO CARRERO (Brazil), 30 March 2014 – Flip-flops were left in the hotel today as round three of the FIM Motocross World Championship got under way at MXGP’s most tropical track Beto Carrero, Brazil. It wouldn’t be a Grand Prix of Brazil without a few drops of rain, which is why when the rain set in during the final laps of MXGP race one, it was somewhat expected. While the dark clouds continued to loom over the impressive circuit of Beto Carrero, the rain did in fact hold off for the most part of both MXGP and MX2 race two. Nevertheless thanks to the brief down pour, and the constant drizzle, conditions were left very tricky making versatility a key factor in todays result. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli proved why he is the seven-time FIM Motocross World Champion, taking the challenging conditions with a grain of salt to convincingly win both MXGP races and extend his championship lead. Meanwhile CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Arnaud Tonus finally lived up to the expectation, taking home his first ever FIM MX2 Grand Prix win as well as claiming the MX2 red plate to lead two points ahead of today’s MX2 runner-up Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Glenn Coldenhoff.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli was on another level today in Beto Carrero. The extremely talented seven-time FIM Motocross World Champion had the crowd on their feet today as he put in two very inspiring rides, passing many of MXGP’s biggest title threats to win both motos with ease.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World’s Clement Desalle took home second overall in typical super smooth Desalle style with two third place finishes. The current vice world champion has now moved from fifth in the championship standings to fourth, trailing the early red plate holder Gautier Paulin and Jeremy Van Horebeek by only one point.

Another podium result for Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Van Horebeek thanks to his phenomenal performance in race one where he finished a very comfortable second place behind the champ himself Tony Cairoli. In race two, the Belgian, only on his second year in the MXGP class, recovered from a few errors which saw him wheeling over tough blocks in attempt to get back on the track, managed to make up for his mistakes and finish fourth for third overall.

Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Gautier Paulin made a remarkable recovery in race one after taking the Foxhead Holeshot only to drop the lead due to a crash on the tricky off camber section out the back of the track. After bouncing back to an amazing seventh place in race one, the flying Frenchman kept it on two wheels in race two to finish second for fourth overall.

Rounding out MXGP’s top five this weekend, Team HRC’s Max Nagl spent most of his races ducking roost with bad starts making life difficult. While his speed was there, the determined German struggled to make passes stick meaning he would only finish in fourth and fifth for fifth overall.

After round three of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Beto Carrero, Brazil, the MXGP points chase from fifth to second is tight. While Cairoli leads by a healthy thirty points, Paulin sits second tied in points with Jeremy Van Horebeek, and both of them are only one point clear of Desalle. Nagl is fifth just one point back from them.

It has been a long time coming for CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Arnaud Tonus, but the day is finally here. Using his smooth, elegant style, the Swiss talent won MX2 race one and finished a comfortable second in race two to claim his first ever MX2 Grand Prix win, making history as the first ever Swiss rider to do so. As well as winning the MX2 Grand Prix of Brazil, Tonus has claimed the FIM MX2 World Championship red plate, and he is the first rider to do so in more than twenty-five months.

Yesterday’s MX2 top qualifier Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Glenn Coldenhoff struggled to find his rhythm in race one admitting “my plan of attack was to hang back until I found my lines, but when it was time to go, I couldn’t find my rhythm”, meaning the latest MX2 favorite would only come home in fifth. Fortunately the Dutch sensation redeemed himself in race two when he hammered the throttle early in lap one to take the lead and win seven seconds ahead of race one winner Arnaud Tonus.

Standing on the third step of the podium for the second time in succession BikeIT Yamaha Cosworth’s Max Anstie struggled to get off the line today, starting both races outside of the top ten. Despite having to slice his way through the pack, the British star managed to come back for a respectable fourth in both motos for third overall.

CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy’s Dylan Ferrandis put in an outstanding performance in race one moving from outside the top five forward to take a remarkable second behind his CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy teammate Arnaud Tonus. Unfortunately in race two, the flamboyant French rider struggled in the deceivingly slick yet spongy clay, after a crash forced him into the pits for some brief repairs to his KXF250. Although it wasn’t easy, the young up and comer did manage to salvage tenth to take fourth overall here in Beto Carrero.

It was a fantastic day in the office for Honda Gariboldi’s Tim Gajser with his outstanding eleventh and third place results for fifth overall. The 2012 EMX125 European Champion put in the ride of his life in moto two tearing up the gnarly circuit of Beto Carrero to take third place, making him the best finishing Slovenian in the history of MX2 racing.

Another European Champion really starting to move forward in MX2, Standing Construct KTM’s Valentin Guillod was footing it with the top guys in race one to come home in sixth. Despite a small crash in race two, the rising Swiss star managed to recoup for an impressive seventh place, tying with Gajser for fifth overall.

With the two-time FIM MX2 World Champion, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings, sitting this round out, the MX2 championship was turned upside down. Tonus took his first ever MX2 race victory as well as MX2 Grand Prix victory to write his name in the history books as the first ever Swiss rider to do so. Tonus now leads the MX2 World Championship two points clear of Coldenhoff in second while Ferrandis drops back to third trailing Tonus by five. Meanwhile Jeffrey Herlings drops back to fourth, fifteen points off the lead. Adding insult to injury, it was also the first time in two years that a KTM rider didn’t make it onto the MX2 podium.
