MATTIA GUADAGNINI INJURY – TO SIT OUT MXGP ROUND ONE

Mattia Guadagnini, pilota del team Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing e talento MXGP, non parteciperà al round di apertura del Campionato mondiale FIM Motocross 2024 in Patagonia-Argentina, a causa degli infortuni riportati in un incidente durante l’allenamento pre-campionato nel sud della Francia.

Guadagnini è stato prontamente trasferito all’ospedale locale più vicino per accertamenti, dove gli è stata diagnosticata una frattura della scapola e lesioni ai tessuti molli della parte inferiore del braccio. Quest’ultimo ha subito un piccolo intervento chirurgico, eseguito con successo questa mattina. L’equipe medica ha condotto test di funzionalità approfonditi, non rivelando danni ai nervi o ai tendini, con previsioni positive per un pieno recupero del braccio. Tuttavia, in questa fase, la tempistica di questa ripresa rimane indeterminata.

Si prevede che Guadagnini verrà dimesso dall’ospedale entro 48 ore, con l’intenzione di tornare in Belgio per ulteriori valutazioni e un secondo parere sulle ferite per stabilire un periodo di recupero più chiaro. Di conseguenza, è stata esclusa la partecipazione all’MXGP della Patagonia-Argentina, con ulteriori esami necessari per fornire un’indicazione su quando potrebbe tornare alle corse.

Rasmus Jorgensen, Team Manager di Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, ha dichiarato: “Questa è una battuta d’arresto per Mattia e per la squadra, ma siamo sollevati che le sue ferite non siano così gravi come inizialmente temuto. GUADAGNINI TO MISS MXGP SEASON OPENER IN ARGENTINA FOLLOWING TRAINING INCIDENT

Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing team rider and MXGP talent Mattia Guadagnini will not participate in the opening round of the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship in Patagonia-Argentina, due to injuries sustained in a crash during pre-season training in the South of France.

Guadagnini was promptly transferred to the nearest local hospital for check ups, where he was diagnosed with a fractured shoulder blade, and soft tissue injuries to his lower arm. The latter required minor surgery, which was successfully carried out this morning. The medical team has conducted comprehensive functionality tests, revealing no damage to nerves or tendons, with positive forecasts for a full recovery of the arm. However, the timeline for this recovery remains undetermined at this stage.
 
Guadagnini is expected to be discharged from the hospital within 48 hours, with plans to return to Belgium for further assessments and a second opinion on his injuries to establish a clearer recovery timeframe. As a result, participation in the MXGP of Patagonia-Argentina has been ruled out, with further examinations required to provide an indication of when he might return to racing.
