Levi Kitchen vince la classe 250SX, segnando otto diversi vincitori in quattro eventi

Cooper Webb di Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing è diventato il quarto diverso vincitore di Monster Energy AMA Supercross in quattro round quando ha ottenuto la vittoria all’Anaheim 2 Supercross davanti a 43.753 fan all’Angel Stadium. Anaheim 2 è stato il primo dei tre eventi Triple Crown di quest’anno che combinano i risultati di tre gare per determinare un vincitore nella notte. Webb ha vinto la classifica generale con i risultati di gara (2-2-5).

ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS 2024 – FULL VIDEO RACES!

Andando (5-7-1), Eli Tomac di Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing ha fatto esultare la folla quando ha guadagnato il secondo posto assoluto con una vittoria nella gara finale della serata mentre lo sport celebra 50 anni di corse quest’anno. Il vincitore della scorsa settimana, Aaron Plessinger della Red Bull KTM, ha guadagnato il terzo posto con (6-4-3) e mantiene la testa della classifica in vista del Round 5. Nella classe Western Regional 250SX, Levi Kitchen di Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki ha lottato duramente per la classifica generale vincere con (1-2-3) punteggi di gara. E Supercross Futures, una parte di SMX Next, ha tenuto la sua prima di cinque gare con le future stelle del Supercross; in quella che è stata la migliore battaglia della notte. Cole Davies di Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing è emerso con la vittoria su Gavin Towers di Monster Energy Star Yamaha.

Primo posto nella classe 450SX – Credito fotografico: Feld Motor Sports, Inc. “Se fai davvero bene le prime due gare, la terza a volte è facile… Avevo molto margine di manovra in Gara n. 3 e potevo semplicemente, onestamente, fai un giro da solista al quinto posto. Ma è sicuramente un po’ strano non superare prima la bandiera a scacchi. Ma penso che la cosa unica del Triple Crown sia che abbiamo visto accadere molte cose del genere. Puoi avere grandi oscillazioni di punti, puoi avere una brutta gara e poi averne due buone e finire sul podio o qualcosa del genere. Quindi non è mai finita di sicuro in questo tipo di situazioni… Ho visto Jason [Anderson] proprio davanti a me [in Gara #3], è caduto, e probabilmente non è stata la cosa migliore per me, perché è stato subito tipo, ‘Va bene, posso semplicemente rilassarmi’, ma ero grato di mettermi in quella situazione. – Cooper Webb

Ho pensato: “Okay, eccomi qui – cosa sono adesso, quinto – settimo posto in questo momento?” Non lo so. Dovevo solo andare a fare qualcosa, dovevo scendere dal cancello lì, quindi è stato bello. È stato bello. Ho avuto un buon flusso. Sono riuscito a mettere a punto la combo whoops e ho sentito che era importante per me, e sì, mi sono sentito bene.”. – Eli Tomac

Terzo posto nella classe 450SX – Credito fotografico: Feld Motor Sports, Inc. “Sapevo che Detroit sarebbe stata la prossima gara e volevo davvero, davvero portare la tabella rossa a Detroit visti gli eventi accaduti l’anno scorso.” [Plessinger è caduto mentre era in testa a Detroit 2023] “Sarà una gara speciale e sì, sono pronto per questo. Sono pronto per tornare in Florida questa settimana e mettermi un po’ di lavoro e poi andare al freddo gelido e spero che i miei baffi non si spezzino con il tempo di 20 gradi [ride]. Ma no, sono pronto per tornare lassù e fare qualche danno. – Aaron Plessinger

450/250 SUPERCROSS HIGHLIGHTS – ANAHEIM 2 2024

La classe Western Regional 250SX ha tenuto il suo secondo round e Levi Kitchen è diventato il quarto pilota in quattro round a portare a casa una vittoria. RJ Hampshire di Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing ha lottato duramente nelle prime due gare, ma una gomma a terra nella terza gara gli ha tolto la possibilità di vincere la classifica generale. Nate Thrasher di Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing ha seguito una vittoria lo scorso fine settimana con un terzo posto ad Anaheim 2.

“Siamo tutti molto vicini in questo momento. Ovviamente voglio essere il ragazzo dominante, ma sì, ora è più vicino. Non puoi iniziare tipo quinto e sesto con questi ragazzi e averli davanti. Dovresti avere delle cose incredibili – non so nemmeno cosa dovresti fare per riuscire a raggiungerli. Penso che sia più stretto rispetto agli anni passati. Soprattutto i primi cinque di noi, ormai siamo tutti abbastanza esperti, quindi è decisamente una gara serrata. – Levi Kitchen

Secondo posto nella classe 250SX – Credito fotografico: Feld Motor Sports, Inc. “Per la prima volta nella mia carriera ho avuto una gomma a terra su una pista Supercross, quindi sì, è stato ricco di eventi. Sapevo che qualcosa non andava, non necessariamente so cosa fino a quando non mi ha sparato nelle whoops … stavo bene per un paio di giri successivi, e poi una volta che la gomma posteriore rompe il tallone ed è fuori dal cerchio, è allora che diventa davvero, davvero spaventoso. Ma nel complesso è stata una serata fantastica. Quella prima e seconda manche erano malate. Se potessimo farlo ogni fine settimana, probabilmente verremmo pagati molto di più perché quello era uno spettacolo. [sorride]. Ma come ho detto, è stato divertente. Tutto sommato, è stata una giornata davvero solida. – RJHampshire

Quindi tutte le caratteristiche delle sospensioni sono completamente diverse. Quindi siamo ancora inclinati, ma penso di aver ottenuto un buon pacchetto questo fine settimana. Sentivo che era un grande passo nella giusta direzione per me, e stiamo ancora imparando, ancora lavorando, ancora cercando di migliorare un po’, ma la scorsa settimana [durante i test] penso che abbiamo trovato un po’ e questo lo ha mostrato questo fine settimana… Oggi la pista era molto dura e sulla moto su cui stavo correndo un paio di fine settimana fa stavo lottando parecchio con la neve dura. Quindi sì, per me è stato sicuramente un posto un po’ migliore”. – Nate Thrasher

Levi Kitchen Wins 250SX Class, Marking Eight Different Winners In Four Events

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cooper Webb became the fourth different Monster Energy AMA Supercross winner in four rounds when he took the victory at the Anaheim 2 Supercross in front of 43,753 fans in Angel Stadium. Anaheim 2 was the first of three Triple Crown events this year which combine the results from three races to determine one winner on the night. Webb won the overall with (2-2-5) race results.

ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS 2024 – FULL VIDEO RACES!

Going (5-7-1), Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac had the crowd cheering when he earned second place overall with a win in the final race of the evening as the sport celebrates 50 years of racing this year. Last week’s winner, Red Bull KTM’s Aaron Plessinger, earned third place with (6-4-3) and retains the points lead heading into Round 5. In the Western Regional 250SX Class, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen fought hard for the overall win with (1-2-3) race scores. And Supercross Futures, a part of SMX Next held its first of five races to feature the future stars of Supercross; in what was the best battle of the night. Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Cole Davies emerged with the victory over Monster Energy Star Yamaha’s Gavin Towers.

First place 450SX Class – Photo Credit: Feld Motor Sports, Inc.“If you do really well the first two [races], the third one sometimes is easy… I had a lot of wiggle room [in Race #3] and could just, honestly, have a solo ride in fifth place. But it is a little bit weird, for sure, to not go over the checkered flag first. But I think that’s kinda the unique thing about the Triple Crown, is we’ve seen a lot of this happen. You can have big point swings, and you can have one bad race and then have two good ones [and] you end up on the podium and something like that. So it’s never over for sure in these kind of situations… I saw Jason [Anderson] right in front of me [in Race #3], he went down, and it probably wasn’t the best thing for me, because it was instantly like, ‘All right, I can just kinda chill,’ but I was grateful to put myself in that situation.” – Cooper Webb

I was like, ‘Okay, here I’m just – what am I now, fifth – seventh place guy right now?’ I don’t know. I just had to go do something, I had to get off the gate there, so it was good. It was good. Had a good flow. I was able to get the whoop combo down, and I felt like that was important for me, and yeah, felt good.”.” – Eli Tomac

I’m ready to get back to Florida this week and put in some work and then go up to the freezing cold and hopefully my moustache doesn’t break off in the 20 degree weather [laughs]. But no, I’m ready to get back up there and do some damage.” – Aaron Plessinger

450/250 SUPERCROSS HIGHLIGHTS – ANAHEIM 2 2024

The Western Regional 250SX Class held its second round and Levi Kitchen became the fourth rider in four rounds to take home a win. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire battled hard in the first two races but a flat tire in the third Race took his chances at an overall victory. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Nate Thrasher followed up a win last weekend with a third place finish at Anaheim 2.

“We’re all really close right now. Obviously I want to be the dominant guy, but yeah, it’s closer now. You can’t start in like fifth and sixth with these guys and have them up front. You’d have to have a pretty amazing – I don’t even know what you’d have to do to be able to get up to them. I think it’s tighter than in years’ past. Especially the top five of us, we’re all pretty experienced by now, so it’s definitely tight racing.” – Levi Kitchen

I knew something was wrong, didn’t necessarily know what until it shot me off in the whoops… I was fine the next couple laps, and then once that rear tire breaks the bead and it’s off the rim, that’s when it gets really, really scary. But overall it was an awesome night. That first and second moto were sick. If we could do that every weekend, I mean, we’d probably get paid a lot more because that was a show. [smiles]. But like I said, that was fun. All in all, it was a really solid day.” – RJ Hampshire

Third place 250SX Class – Photo Credit: Feld Motor Sports, Inc.“[The new bike is] the same motor package but a whole different chassis. So all the suspension characteristics are completely different. So we’re still leaning, but I think I got a good package this weekend. I felt like it was a big step in the right direction for me, and we’re still learning, still working, still trying to get a little bit better, but last week [in testing] I think we found a little bit and it showed this weekend… It was a very hardpack track out there today and on the bike I was racing a couple weekends ago I was struggling pretty bad with the hardpack. So yeah, it was definitely a little bit better spot for me.” – Nate Thrasher
