Questo fine settimana, l’Arena la Defense di Parigi dà il benvenuto

il 40° Supercross di Parigi

Tra poche ore l’Arena Paris la Defense inizierà la sua trasformazione per diventare la sede del più prestigioso Supercross europeo il 18 e 19 novembre! Mentre i corridori stanno mettendo a punto la loro preparazione finale in Europa o sono in viaggio dagli Stati Uniti, gli organizzatori sono pronti per iniziare la costruzione della pista questo martedì.

Mancano ormai pochi giorni alla 40a edizione del Supercross de Paris e ancora una volta l’Arena Paris la Defense sarà il centro del mondo sportivo per un fine settimana che promette emozioni a bizzeffe! Una serie di top rider, una pista di taglia XL, uno spettacolo FMX unico… gli strumenti sono tutti lì per rendere questo anniversario memorabile.

Festeggeremo un 27esimo Re?

Nelle 39 edizioni disputate fino ad oggi il Supercross di Parigi ha onorato ventisei diversi ‘Re’, dall’americano David Bailey, incoronato nel 1984, a Ken Roczen, vincitore lo scorso anno. Roczen seguirà le orme di Johnny O’Mara, Jean Michel Bayle, David Vuillemin, Andrew Short e Marvin Musquin nel mantenere con successo il titolo? Il tedesco sarà, come l’anno scorso, uno dei favoriti ma dovrà affrontare un’opposizione dura, guidata dagli australiani Jett e Hunter Lawrence e dagli americani Cooper Webb e Justin Brayton, quest’ultimo in sostituzione di Justin Barcia, non ancora sufficientemente ripreso dal recente infortunio. competere. Il loro confronto sarà uno dei momenti salienti di questa edizione poiché Jett e Hunter faranno il loro debutto nella classe 450 su una vera pista Supercross mentre Cooper gareggerà nella sua prima SX da quando ha firmato con Yamaha. Di fronte al quintetto ci saranno gli americani Justin Hill e Justin Starling, nonché la delegazione francese guidata da Cédric Soubeyras, Greg Aranda (vincitore lo scorso fine settimana a Stoccarda), Jordi Tixier e Thomas Ramette.

Una vera pista da Supercross

Dal suo arrivo alla Paris la Defense Arena, il Supercross di Parigi ha trovato lo spazio necessario per costruire una pista all’altezza della reputazione dell’evento. Anche quest’anno, tenendo conto della qualità dei piloti in campo, gli organizzatori hanno progettato un tracciato che permetterà ai migliori piloti di fare la differenza. “Abbiamo passato molte mattinate a pensare al tracciato con Jean Luc Fouchet e Xavier Audouard, direttore sportivo dell’evento”, spiega Cédric Lucas, che anche quest’anno supervisionerà la costruzione del tracciato. “Tutti hanno gli occhi puntati su Parigi perché è il più grande Supercross europeo, che accoglie i migliori piloti americani, quindi non possiamo risparmiare sulla costruzione della pista. Come l’anno scorso costruiremo una grande serie di whoops, perché ci saranno dei grandi corridori dietro il cancello di partenza. » Questo martedì inizierà la trasformazione dell’Arena, che durerà 36 ore – la costruzione della pista sarà completata giovedì pomeriggio – e richiederà circa 3500 m3 di terra.

Due categorie internazionali

La categoria SX1 resta la classe regina del Supercross, ma quest’anno la classe SX2, da sempre caratteristica di Parigi, vanta ora anche lo status Internazionale. Il campionato francese dell’SX Tour verrà disputato nel prologo di ogni sera, quindi otto corridori dell’SX Tour entreranno nella categoria internazionale insieme a diversi visitatori transatlantici. Tra questi ci sarà il doppio campione del mondo Tom Vialle – 2020-2022 – che farà il suo grande debutto a Parigi poche settimane dopo aver vinto il Motocross des Nations con la squadra francese. Insieme a lui nell’Arena saranno presenti alcuni dei piloti contro cui ha corso questa stagione negli USA, come il giapponese Jo Shimoda o gli americani Cullin Park e Jace Owen. E l’australiano Matt Moss, incoronato Principe di Parigi lo scorso anno, è tornato per difendere il suo titolo!

Stile libero ad alta quota

Anche lo spettacolo Freestyle, da sempre elemento essenziale in un Supercross di alto profilo, promette di essere all’altezza degli elevati standard di questa edizione del 40° anniversario, con una rampa XXL che permetterà al belga Julien Vanstippen, all’americano Tyler Bereman, al tedesco Luc Ackermann e al francese Nicolas Texier presenterà nuovi trucchi durante le due sessioni in programma ogni sera.

Lo spettacolo del sabato sera è già esaurito da molte settimane ma è ancora possibile trovare i biglietti per la domenica.

Domenica le porte dell’Arena apriranno alle 10.45 per assistere agli allenamenti, poi lo spettacolo inizierà alle 14.00 e terminerà alle 18.00 per permettere a tutti di tornare a casa in serata.

This weekend, the Paris la Defense Arena welcomes

the 40^th Supercross de Paris

In a few hours the Paris la Defense Arena will begin its transformation to become the home of the most prestigious European Supercross on November 18 and 19! While the riders are fine-tuning their final preparation in Europe or are travelling from the United States, the organizers are ready to start the track-building this Tuesday.

It’s just a few days now before this 40th edition of the Supercross de Paris and once again the Paris la Defense Arena will be the centre of the sporting world for a weekend which promises thrills galore! A host of top riders, an XL-size track, a unique FMX show … the tools are all there to make this anniversary memorable.

Will we celebrate a 27th King?

In the 39 editions to date the Paris Supercross has honoured twenty-six different ‘Kings’, from the American David Bailey, crowned in 1984, to Ken Roczen, the winner last year. Will Roczen follow in the footsteps of Johnny O’Mara, Jean Michel Bayle, David Vuillemin, Andrew Short and Marvin Musquin in successfully retaining the title? The German will be, as last year, one of the favourites but faces tough opposition, led by the Australians Jett and Hunter Lawrence and the Americans Cooper Webb and Justin Brayton, the latter replacing Justin Barcia who has not yet recovered sufficiently from a recent injury to compete. Their confrontation will be one of the highlights of this edition as Jett and Hunter will be making their debut in the 450 class on a genuine Supercross track while Cooper will compete in his first SX since signing with Yamaha. Facing this quintet will be Americans Justin Hill and Justin Starling as well as the French delegation led by Cédric Soubeyras, Greg Aranda (winner last weekend in Stuttgart), Jordi Tixier and Thomas Ramette.

A real Supercross track

Since its arrival in the Paris la Defense Arena, the Paris Supercross has found the space necessary to build a track that lives up to the reputation of the event. Once more this year, taking into account the quality of the rider-field, the organizers have designed a track which will allow the very best riders to make the difference. “We spent many mornings thinking about the track with Jean Luc Fouchet and Xavier Audouard, the Sporting Director of the event,” explains Cédric Lucas, who this year will again supervise the construction of the track. “Everyone has their eyes on Paris because it’s the biggest European Supercross, which welcomes top American riders, so we can’t cut corners on building the track. As last year we are going to build a big series of whoops, because there will be some great riders behind the start gate. » This Tuesday the Arena will begin its transformation, which will last 36 hours – construction of the track will be completed Thursday afternoon – and will require some 3500m3 of earth.

Two International categories

The SX1 category remains the top class in Supercross, but this year the SX2 class – which has always been a feature of Paris – now also boasts International status. The French SX Tour championship will be contested in the prologue of each evening, and then eight of the SX Tour riders will enter the international category alongside several transatlantic visitors. Amongst those will be Double World Champion Tom Vialle – 2020-2022 – making his big debut in Paris just a few weeks after winning the Motocross des Nations with the French team. He will be joined in the Arena by some of the riders he has raced against this season in the USA such as the Japanese Jo Shimoda or the Americans Cullin Park and Jace Owen. And Australian Matt Moss, crowned Prince of Paris last year, is back to defend his title!

High-flying Freestyle

the Freestyle show, always an essential element in a high-profile Supercross, also promises to live up to the high standards of this 40th anniversary edition, with an XXL ramp which will allow Belgian Julien Vanstippen, American Tyler Bereman, German Luc Ackermann and French Nicolas Texier to present new tricks during the two sessions scheduled each evening.

The Saturday evening show has already been sold out for many weeks but you can still find tickets for Sunday.

On Sunday the Arena doors will open at 10:45 am to watch the practice sessions, and then the show will start at 2.00 pm and end at 6.00 pm to allow everyone to travel home in the evening.
