Jago Geerts si sottopone con successo a un intervento chirurgico al polso
Jago Geerts della Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 è stato sottoposto con successo a un intervento chirurgico con lo specialista della mano e del polso Dr. Joris Duerinkx il 24 maggio a Genk, in Belgio. L’intervento è stato eseguito per riparare l’infortunio al polso sinistro riportato nella gara di qualificazione MX2 al MXGP di Francia a Villars Sous Ecot.
Entrando nel MXGP di Francia, Geerts aveva stabilito un solido vantaggio di 48 punti nel Campionato del Mondo MX2 e stava godendo di un buon inizio per la sua corsa al titolo MX2 2023, in cui ha celebrato sei vittorie in gara, cinque podi e tre Gran Premi. Vince in sella alla sua YZ250FM. Nonostante la sua assenza dal Gran Premio di Francia, il 23enne belga è ancora in testa al Campionato del Mondo MX2 di 1 punto.
Nelle prossime settimane, Geerts lavorerà a stretto contatto con il suo team medico, che monitorerà i suoi progressi e modificherà il suo piano di trattamento secondo necessità. Un aggiornamento sul suo potenziale ritorno all’azione sarà condiviso a tempo debito.

Jago Geerts Undergoes Successful Wrist Surgery
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2’s Jago Geerts successfully underwent surgery with hand and wrist specialist Dr. Joris Duerinkx on May 24th in Genk, Belgium. The surgery was performed to repair the left wrist injury that was sustained in the MX2 Qualifying Race at the MXGP of France in Villars Sous Ecot.
Going into the MXGP of France, Geerts had established a solid 48-point lead in the MX2 World Championship and was enjoying a strong start to his 2023 MX2 title charge, in which he celebrated six race wins, five podium finishes, and three Grand Prix wins aboard his YZ250FM. Despite his absence from the French Grand Prix, the 23-year-old Belgian still leads the MX2 World Championship by 1-point.
Over the next few weeks, Geerts will work closely with his medical team, who will monitor his progress and adjust his treatment plan as needed. An update on his potential return to action will be shared in due course.
