Ken Roczen annuncia un impegno a lungo termine per il Campionato mondiale FIM Supercross

Ken Roczen ha confermato oggi il suo impegno per il FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), annunciando tramite una conferenza stampa virtuale che correrà nel campionato fino al 2025.

Già pilota per il team Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki guidato da Dustin Pipes negli Stati Uniti, Roczen gareggerà sotto lo stendardo del Pipes Motorsports Group nel 2023, dove difenderà il suo attuale titolo mondiale WSX.

Roczen afferma che il ritorno al World Supercross Championship per i prossimi tre anni rappresenta il suo impegno a diventare uno specialista del supercross e far crescere la disciplina in tutto il mondo.

“Mi sono divertito molto a Cardiff e Melbourne l’anno scorso, il che ha reso facile impegnarsi nel campionato mondiale di Supercross”, ha detto Roczen. “Sono più affamato che mai di vittorie e darò il massimo con la mia squadra per essere sul gradino più alto quando la stagione si concluderà a Melbourne questo novembre.

“Affinché il supercross cresca come sport in tutto il mondo, penso sia davvero importante che più piloti si concentrino esclusivamente sulla disciplina, motivo per cui mi sto concentrando sul Campionato mondiale di Supercross e sul Campionato AMA Supercross nei prossimi anni. Sento che la mia guida quest’anno è stata buona come sempre e sono entusiasta di vedere cosa posso fare concentrandomi su una specialità.

“Sono particolarmente orgoglioso di ciò che abbiamo ottenuto quest’anno con il Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki Team. Dustin, Larry e l’intero team hanno fatto uno sforzo enorme per farmi sentire a mio agio come lo sono stato per correre davanti per tutta la stagione.

“Per noi continuare insieme il nostro slancio nel supercross e portare lo sport che amiamo ai fan di tutto il mondo è un’opportunità straordinaria di cui sono molto grato. Sono entusiasta di avere l’opportunità di competere per un titolo mondiale a casa in Germania, cosa che fino ad ora potevo solo sognare”.

Il CEO di SX Global Adam Bailey ha affermato che l’annuncio di oggi non è stato solo una grande vittoria per lo sport, ma anche per i fan che potrebbero non aver avuto l’opportunità di vedere prima uno dei più grandi nomi della gara di supercross nel loro paese.

Ken Roczen announces long-term commitment to the FIM World Supercross Championship

Roczen returns to defend his WSX world title in 2023 and beyond
Ken Roczen has today confirmed his commitment to the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), announcing via a virtual media conference that he will race in the championship until 2025.

Already a rider for the Dustin Pipes-led Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki team in the US, Roczen will compete under the Pipes Motorsports Group banner in 2023, where he’ll defend his current WSX world title.

Roczen says returning to the World Supercross Championship for the next three years represents his commitment to becoming a supercross specialist and growing the discipline around the world.

“I had a great time in Cardiff and Melbourne last year, which made it easy to commit to the World Supercross Championship,” said Roczen. “I’m hungrier than ever for race wins and will be giving it my all with my team to be standing on the top step when the season ends in Melbourne this November.

“For supercross to grow as a sport around the world I think it’s really important that more riders focus solely on the discipline, which is why I’m concentrating on the World Supercross Championship and the AMA Supercross Championship in the coming years. I feel like my riding this year has been as good as ever, and I’m excited to see what I can do when focusing on one speciality.

“I’m particularly proud of what we’ve achieved this year with the Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki Team. Dustin, Larry and the whole team have put in a huge effort to make me as comfortable as I have been to race at the front all season long.
