Molti dei leader della serie AMA Supercross hanno subito costosi incidenti a Nashville e, sfortunatamente, questo includeva Justin Barcia di Troy Lee Designs / Red Bull / GASGAS Factory Racing Team. Il pilota Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas, fresco di vittoria la scorsa settimana a East Rutherford e dopo aver vinto la sua gara di qualifica, era terzo quando è caduto in modo spettacolare, rompendosi la clavicola. Barcia aveva creato una seconda parte sensazionale della sua stagione, ma sfortunatamente ora è finita.

Le cose andavano di nuovo bene per Justin Barcia e la sua MC 450F Factory Edition all’inizio della giornata, poiché si è qualificato terzo più veloce, e poi lo ha confermato con una vittoria nella sua gara di qualifica. Dopo una buona partenza in classifica generale, si è rapidamente fatto strada fino al quarto posto, e poi al terzo al sesto giro. Sfortunatamente, poco dopo, ha avuto un duro incidente nella parte posteriore della pista sulla “schiena del drago”. Nonostante fosse assistito dall’equipaggio di Alpinestars Mobile Medical, non è stato in grado di continuare.

CRASHES PROVE COSTLY FOR SERIES FRONTRUNNERS

Several of the AMA Supercross series frontrunners endured costly crashes at Nashville, and unfortunately, that included Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing Team’s Justin Barcia. The Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas rider, fresh off a win last week in East Rutherford, and having won his heat race, was running third when he crashed spectacularly, breaking his collarbone in the process. Barcia had been authoring a sensational second-half of his season, but unfortunately it’s over now.

Things were looking good again for Justin Barcia and his MC 450F Factory Edition machine early in the day, as he qualified third-fastest, and then backed that up with a win in his heat race. After a strong start to the main, he quickly worked his way into fourth place, and then into third place by lap six. Unfortunately, shortly after that, he had a hard crash in the dragon’s back section of the track. Despite being assisted by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical crew, he was unable to continue.

After injuries earlier in the season, Michael Mosiman is back in the saddle and continues to prepare for the upcoming AMA Pro Motocross season.
