SACHA COEN FA IL DEBUTTO IN MX2 A TEMPO PIENO CON LA RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

La promettente star belga Sacha Coenen sarà il terzo pilota della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing nel Campionato mondiale di motocross FIM MX2 2023 dopo aver confermato un accordo pluriennale KTM.

Il futuro sedicenne (il 9 novembre) si unirà ad Andrea Adamo e Liam Everts sulle KTM 250 SX-F ufficiali per la prossima stagione da quando ha impressionato con la sua velocità naturale e il suo atteggiamento dedicato nelle competizioni del Campionato Europeo nel 2022.

Coenen, e suo fratello gemello Lucas, entreranno in MXGP per la prima volta l’anno prossimo. È stato reclutato dall’equipaggio arancione e utilizzerà il 2023 per sviluppare le sue abilità, la sua tecnica e il suo fisico ai massimi livelli. Sacha si collegherà con il connazionale ed ex pluricampione del mondo Joel Smets per supervisionare il suo sviluppo. Smets ha guidato la doppia MX2 n. 1 Tom Vialle dall’aspirante EMX a due titoli in sole quattro stagioni tra il 2019 e il 2022.

Coenen potrà anche contare sull’esperienza del nuovo Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Tony Cairoli poiché la squadra schiererà ora un roster di quattro piloti. Jeffrey Herlings sarà l’unico concorrente nella classe MXGP con la KTM 450 SX-F.

La stella più fresca di KTM è stata una vincitrice di moto nella serie EMX2021 del 125 e ha ottenuto punti nelle uscite EMX250 nel 2022 mentre aspettava ancora il suo quindicesimo compleanno. Alla fine avrebbe potuto seguire Herlings, Jorge Prado e Vialle come debuttanti a tempo pieno nel Gran Premio con la Red Bull KTM che ha continuato a rivendicare la targa d’oro.

Sacha Coenen: “Questo è un sogno per me! Sono così felice di unirmi alla Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. Ho guidato la KTM 2023 SX-F 250 e l’amo finora e mi piace molto la potenza. Non vedo l’ora di lavorare con Joel perché sono sicuro che può portare alcune cose nel mio programma che non ho. So di avere molto da imparare, ma voglio divertirmi e fare il meglio che posso”.

Joel Smets, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Trainer: “È quasi folle quanta energia e motivazione abbia Sacha e, al momento, è il più piccolo dei gemelli! Non credo di aver mai visto tanta determinazione e dedizione per qualcuno che è ancora così giovane. Ha ancora bisogno di crescere fisicamente e professionalmente e bisogna lavorare sull’equilibrio tra la sua voglia e le sue capacità. Sarà una grande sfida guidare tutta quell’energia… ma non vediamo l’ora di farlo”.

SACHA COENEN TO MAKE FULL-TIME MX2 DEBUT WITH RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING

Sacha Coenen 2023 Red Bull KTM

Promising Belgian starlet Sacha Coenen will be Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s third rider in the 2023 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship after confirming a multi-year KTM deal.

The soon-to-be sixteen-year-old (on November 9th) will join Andrea Adamo and Liam Everts on the works KTM 250 SX-Fs for next season since impressing with his natural speed and dedicated attitude in European Championship competition during 2022.
 
Coenen, and his twin brother Lucas, will enter MXGP for the first time next year. He has been recruited by the orange crew and will use 2023 to develop his skills, racecraft and physique at the highest level. Sacha will link with countryman and former multi world champion Joel Smets to oversee his development. Smets guided double MX2 #1 Tom Vialle from EMX aspirant to two titles in just four seasons between 2019 and 2022.
 
Coenen will also be able to count on the experience of new Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Tony Cairoli as the squad will now field a four-rider roster. Jeffrey Herlings will be the sole entrant in the MXGP class with the KTM 450 SX-F.
 
KTM’s freshest star was a moto winner in the 2021 EMX125 series and grabbed points in EMX250 outings in 2022 while still waiting for his fifteenth birthday. He could eventually follow Herlings, Jorge Prado and Vialle as full-time Grand Prix debutants with Red Bull KTM that went on to claim the gold number plate.
 
Sacha Coenen: “This a dream come true for me! I’m so happy to be joining Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. I have been riding the stock 2023 KTM 250 SX-F and love it so far and really like the power. I’m looking forward to working with Joel because I’m sure he can bring some things to my program that I don’t have. I know I have a lot to learn but I want to have fun and do as well as I can.”

I don’t think I have ever seen so much determination and dedication for someone who is still so young. He still needs to grow physically and professionally and we need to work on the balance between his desire and his abilities. It will be a big challenge to guide all that energy…but we are really looking forward to it.”
