Calvin Vlaanderen estende il suo contratto
Calvin Vlaanderen correrà anche per Gebben-Van Venrooy-Yamaha Racing nel 2023.
Il sudafricano ha prolungato di una stagione il suo contratto. Le Fiandre sono riuscite a vincere il KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 500cc. Inoltre, è arrivato settimo nella MXGP e ha vinto il Gran Premio sul circuito di Riola Sardo.
Il pilota di motocross, 26 anni, molto probabilmente utilizzerà anche i motori Star Racing la prossima stagione. Non si sa ancora chi sarà il compagno di squadra, si vocifera che Brent Van Doninck tornerà in squadra da De Wijk.
È stata una forte campagna del Campionato del Mondo nel 2022, Vlaanderen è persino salito sul gradino di arresto del podio MXGP per la prima volta così come le visite sul podio. Il team è lieto di annunciare di aver concordato un accordo con Vlaanderen per la stagione 2023 in cui sperano in un successo ancora maggiore, comprese le vittorie MXGP e i risultati sul podio.
Dopo essere arrivato settimo nella classifica del Campionato del Mondo MXGP nel 2022, l’obiettivo è quello di avere una buona preparazione invernale per avere un anno ancora migliore davanti. Per ottenere il meglio da Vlaanderen, il team ha deciso di correre con un solo pilota per la stagione 2023.
La squadra è motivata per l’apertura della stagione che si svolgerà in Argentina l’11 e 12 marzo.
Calvin Vlaanderen: “È fantastico estendere il mio contratto per un altro anno con la squadra Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha per la stagione MXGP 2023. Abbiamo avuto una stagione 2022 di successo raggiungendo alcuni grandi obiettivi che ci eravamo prefissati. Ogni anno impariamo, miglioriamo e i dati lo dimostrano. Abbiamo una moto completamente nuova per il nuovo anno e sono entusiasta. Non vedo l’ora di fare una buona preparazione invernale con la squadra e di poter continuare a lottare per podi e vittorie nella prossima stagione”.
Klaas Hattem (team manager): “L’obiettivo finale dei piloti o dei team è vincere un GP. Raggiungere questo obiettivo come team privato è un risultato enorme. Oltre a diversi podi nella MXGP, il Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha Team ha vinto anche il campionato olandese nella MX1. La stagione 2022 ha quindi avuto successo con il risultato finale che è stato settimo nella classifica MXGP. Il risultato del 2022 ha assicurato il rinnovo del contratto con Calvin Vlaanderen. Calvin è cresciuto come pilota ed è pronto per il prossimo passo della sua carriera. Per supportare Calvin in questo processo nel miglior modo possibile, il Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha Team ha deciso di concentrarsi su Calvin Vlaanderen. Ciò significa che la squadra continuerà con un pilota nel campionato mondiale MXGP. Il team è convinto che insieme a tutti i partner e gli sponsor leali possano garantire nuovi successi nei prossimi anni”.

Calvin Vlaanderen extends his contract
Calvin Vlaanderen will also race for Gebben-Van Venrooy-Yamaha Racing in 2023.
The South African has extended his contract by one season. Flanders managed to win the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 500cc. Furthermore, he finished seventh in MXGP and won the Grand Prix at the Riola Sardo circuit.
The 26-year-old motocross rider will most likely also use Star Racing engines next season. It is not yet known who will be the teammate, it is rumored that Brent Van Doninck will return to the team from De Wijk.
It was a strong World Championship campaign in 2022, Vlaanderen even stood on the stop step of the MXGP podium for the first time as well as podium visits. The team are delighted to announce that they’ve agreed a deal with Vlaanderen for the 2023 season where they hope for even more success including MXGP wins and podium results.
After finishing seventh in the MXGP World Championship standings in 2022, the goal is to have a strong winter preparation to have an even better year ahead. In order to get the best out of Vlaanderen, the team have decided to run a sole rider for the 2023 season.
The team are motivated for the season opener which will take place in Argentina on the 11th and 12th of March.
