MONACO (Principato di Monaco) 13 luglio 2022 – Il Campionato del Mondo FIM Motocross torna a Loket questo fine settimana per la 25a edizione del MXGP della Repubblica Ceca sulla pista della vecchia scuola!
Situata a 150 km a ovest di Praga, Loket fa parte del calendario del Campionato mondiale di motocross FIM dal 1995, con vincitori del Gran Premio della Repubblica Ceca tra cui artisti del calibro di Joel Smets, Stefan Everts, Ben Townley, Jeremy Van Horebeek, Jeffrey Herlings, Romain Febvre e Jorge Prado, tra gli altri.
La scorsa stagione, Jorge Prado della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing ha vinto con un risultato di 1-3, davanti ad Antonio Cairoli e Jeremy Seewer della Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing , il tutto mentre Tim Gajser del Team HRC ha lottato dopo essere caduto nella seconda gara.
Nel frattempo, nella MX2, Mattia Guadagnini della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing è stato il vincitore assoluto davanti a Maxime Renaux e Thibault Benistant della Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing mentre il trio ha combattuto intensamente mentre Tom Vialle della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing si è ritirato dalla seconda gara.
Questa volta, l’MXGP della Repubblica Ceca ha in serbo un mega weekend per i fan, con due giorni ricchi di azione tra cui le finali del campionato EMX65 ed EMX85 , insieme agli ultimi due round della serie Junior e-Motocross e l’esclusivo Campionato EMX2t a un round che vedrà un nuovo vincitore in questa stagione, come il campione dell’anno scorso, Maximilian Spies non difenderà il titolo e si schiererà invece nella categoria MX2

In MXGP, non c’è dubbio che il leader del campionato, Tim Gajser del Team HRC sia il favorito per la gara di questo fine settimana, dopo aver vinto gli ultimi due Gran Premi sul rimbalzo, dopo aver lottato contro una malattia. Gajser è sembrato a suo agio ultimamente e avere un vantaggio di 125 punti probabilmente ha qualcosa a che fare con questo.
Considerando la sua prestazione a Loket la scorsa stagione, non c’è dubbio che lo sloveno sarà motivato a rimediare alla disavventura dell’anno scorso ea segnare punti più solidi.
Il vincitore del Gran Premio della Repubblica Ceca dell’anno scorso, Jorge Prado della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing sarà uno da tenere d’occhio. Prado ha già vinto un GP in questa stagione, ma da allora ha avuto dei momenti difficili e ha cercato di tornare in cima al podio. Ora con un paio di settimane per ricaricarsi e continuare il suo lavoro sulla forma fisica, dallo spagnolo ci si possono aspettare grandi cose.
Prado ha anche dei bei ricordi a Loket, dopo aver ottenuto la sua prima tabella rossa nel 2018 (in MX2) e poi aver vinto il GP nel 2019 e nel 2021, quindi una vittoria in questo fine settimana potrebbe essere una bella aggiunta.
Un’altra seria minaccia per il podio viene da Jeremy Seewer di Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing che ha già quattro podi alle sue spalle. Sebbene sia stato un inizio di stagione lento per lo svizzero, ha sicuramente preso il ritmo nelle ultime gare. Anche se l’Indonesia è stata dura per il pilota Yamaha, questo fine settimana tornerà senza dubbio al suo solito ritmo e potrebbe aggiungere un altro podio al suo crescente bottino. I punti saranno importanti anche per Seewer, se non vuole perdere completamente la presa su Gajser per il titolo.
C’è anche Romain Febvre del Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP che è andato vicino al podio da quando è tornato a correre al Gran Premio di Germania. Sono solo due le gare in cui abbiamo visto tornare Febvre, ma il francese sembra forte e questo fine settimana potrebbe essere il suo momento per brillare.
Anche Mattia Guadagnini della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing ha dei bei ricordi quando si tratta di correre a Loket, quando ha ottenuto la sua seconda vittoria in un GP l’anno scorso in MX2. Guadagnini è passato alla classe regina dalla MXGP della Sardegna e da allora ha ottenuto ottimi risultati nella top 10.
Alcuni volti nuovi stanno passando alla MXGP, che include Kevin Brumann del team iXS hostettler MXGP , Haakon Fredriksen e Conrad Mewse della Honda 114 Motorsports. Il trio ha mostrato risultati promettenti in MX2, quindi sarà interessante vedere cosa possono fare nella classe regina.
2021 MXGP della Repubblica Ceca Top 3 – MXGP:

Tom Vialle della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing cercherà di avere un altro weekend al top, dopo il suo risultato di 1-1 in Indonesia. Il francese è ora di nuovo al controllo della tabella rossa, anche se di soli quattro punti mentre la lotta per il titolo tra lui e Jago Geerts del Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing continua.
Sia Vialle che Geerts sono scesi dal podio solo due volte quest’anno, il che mette in evidenza il loro incredibile track record, il che significa che un podio questo fine settimana è molto probabile, anche se sarà solo una questione di chi starà sul gradino più alto. Entrambi i piloti hanno avuto sfortuna a Loket l’anno scorso perché non sono riusciti a salire sul podio, ma questa volta ciò non dovrebbe influire sulle loro prestazioni.
Per Geerts sarà importante superare Vialle questo fine settimana se vorrà recuperare i punti e riprendersi la tabella rossa. Ma non può concentrarsi troppo su questo perché è lì che potrebbero iniziare a insinuarsi errori, e lo stesso vale per Vialle.
Thibault Benistant di Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing ha anche un record sul podio piuttosto forte in questa stagione, essendo arrivato sul podio quattro volte, che include anche la sua prima vittoria assoluta in Germania. Il francese ha dimostrato di poter essere uno dei piloti ad entrare nel mix tra Vialle e Geerts che quest’anno hanno tenuto le cose strette. Anche Benistant era sul podio a Loket l’anno scorso e ha vinto la seconda gara, quindi anche questo dovrebbe dargli una bella spinta di fiducia.
Simon Längenfelder della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing è un altro pilota da tenere d’occhio quando ha fatto la sua terza apparizione sul podio un paio di settimane fa a Samota-Sumbawa. Längenfelder ha chiaramente le carte in regola per combattere al comando e sarebbe bello vederlo fare proprio questo questo fine settimana.
Kay de Wolf di Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing sarà anche un’altra possibile minaccia per il podio e sarà interessante vedere quanti progressi ha fatto dall’Indonesia, il suo secondo GP reduce da un infortunio.

MXGP of Czech Republic Set for Action-Packed Weekend in Loket
MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 13 July 2022 – The FIM Motocross World Championship returns to Loket this weekend for the 25th edition of the MXGP of Czech Republic at the old-school track!
Located 150km west of Prague, Loket has been a part of the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar since 1995, with winners of the Czech Grand Prix including the likes of Joel Smets, Stefan Everts, Ben Townley, Jeremy Van Horebeek, Jeffrey Herlings, Romain Febvre and Jorge Prado, among others.
Last season, Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado was victorious with a 1-3 results, ahead of Antonio Cairoli and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Seewer, all while Team HRC’s Tim Gajser struggled after crashing big in the second race.
Meanwhile in MX2, Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Mattia Guadagnini was the overall winner ahead of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Maxime Renaux and Thibault Benistant as the trio battled intensely while Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle retired from the second race.
This time around, the MXGP of Czech Republic has a mega weekend in store for the fans, with two action-packed days including finals of the EMX65 and EMX85 Championship, along with the final two rounds of the Junior e-Motocross series and the unique one-round EMX2t Championship which will see a new winner this season, as last year’s Champion, Maximilian Spies will not be defending the title and will instead line up in the MX2 category.
In MXGP, there is no doubt that Championship leader, Tim Gajser of Team HRC is the favourite heading into this weekend’s race, having won the last two Grand Prix’s on the bounce, after struggling with illness. Gajser has been looking comfortable lately and having a 125-point lead probably has something to do with that.
Thought looking at his performance in Loket last season, there is no doubt that the Slovenian will be motivated to make-up for last year’s mishap and score some more solid points.
Last year’s Czech Republic Grand Prix winner, Jorge Prado of Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing will be one to watch. Prado has already won a GP this season but has had some tough moments ever since and has been looking to get back on the top of the box. Now with a couple of weeks to re-charge and continue his work on his fitness, big things could be expected of the Spaniard.
Prado also has some nice memories in Loket, having claimed his first red plate in 2018 (in MX2) and then winning the GP in 2019 and 2021, so a victory this weekend could be a nice addition.
Another serious podium threat comes from Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jeremy Seewer who already has four podiums under his belt. While it was a slow start to the season for the Swiss, he sure has picked up the pace in the last several races. While Indonesia was a tough one for the Yamaha rider, he is no doubt going to be back to his usual self this weekend and could add another podium to his growing tally. Points will also be important for Seewer, if he doesn’t want to completely lose his grip on Gajser for the title.
There is also Romain Febvre of Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP who has come close to a podium visit ever since getting back to racing at the German Grand Prix. It has only been two races that we have seen Febvre back for, but the Frenchman is looking strong and this weekend could be his moment to shine.
Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Mattia Guadagnini also has some nice memories when it comes to racing in Loket, as he scored his second GP victory there last year in MX2. Guadagnini made the move up to the premiere class from the MXGP of Sardinia and has delivered some nice top 10 results ever since.
Some new faces are making the move up to MXGP, which includes iXS hostettler MXGP Team’s Kevin Brumann, Honda 114 Motorsports’ Haakon Fredriksen and Conrad Mewse. The trio previosuly showed promise in MX2 so it will be interesting to see what they can do in the premiere class.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle will be looking to have another top weekend, following his 1-1 result in Indonesia. The Frenchman is now in control of the red plate once again, though by only four points as the title fight between him and Jago Geerts of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing continues.
Both Vialle and Geerts have only been off the podium twice this year, which only highlights their incredible track record meaning a podium this weekend is very likely, though it will only be a matter of who is standing on the top step. Both riders had bad luck in Loket last year as they failed to mount the podium, but that should not affect their performance this time around.
For Geerts it will be important to get ahead of Vialle this weekend if he wants to claw back the points and take back the red plate. But he cannot focus too much on this as that’s when mistakes could start to creep in, and the same applies for Vialle.
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Thibault Benistant also has a pretty strong podium track record this season, having finished on the box four times which also includes his maiden overall win in Germany. The Frenchman has shown that he can be one of the riders to get in the mix of Vialle and Geerts who have been keeping things tight this year. Benistant was also on the box in Loket last year and won the second race, so that should also give him a nice confidence boost.
Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Simon Längenfelder is another rider to look out for as he made his third podium appearance a couple of weeks ago in Samota-Sumbawa. Längenfelder clearly has what it takes to battle at the front, and it would be nice to see him do just that this weekend.
Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Kay de Wolf will also be another possible podium threat and it will be interesting to see how much progress he has made since Indonesia which was his second GP back from injury.
