MONACO (Principato di Monaco) 8 giugno 2022 – L’11 ° round del Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross torna a Teutschenthal, in Germania, per il MXGP di Germania di quest’anno, la 26° edizione del Gran Premio di Germania.
L’anno scorso, la MXGP della Germania è tornata per la prima volta dal 2019 e ha regalato un weekend esplosivo che ha visto intensificarsi la corsa al titolo tra Jeffrey Herlings della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Romain Febvre del Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP e Tim Gajser del Team HRC .
Mentre quest’anno il campionato MXGP è molto più aperto, l’incontro per il titolo MX2 è comunque più vicino che mai con soli 11 punti che separano Tom Vialle della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing e Jago Geerts della Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing e le gare di questo fine settimana saranno cruciali.
La pista dura di Teutschenthal fa parte del Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross dagli anni ’70 e ha ospitato per la prima volta un Gran Premio della 250 cc nel 1971, poi vinto dal sei volte campione del mondo Joël Robert.
Oltre alle principali azioni MXGP e MX2, le gare di questo fine settimana vedranno anche i round di EMX125 Presentato da FMF Racing EMX250. Così com’è, Cas Valk del Fantic Factory Team Maddii guida il campionato 125cc mentre nella classe 250cc è guidato da Rick Elzinga dell’Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing che ha solo un punto di margine su Cornelius Toendel del Fantic Factory Team Maddii.

Una delle più grandi novità di questo fine settimana è che Romain Febvre del Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP farà il suo tanto atteso ritorno dietro il cancello dopo sei mesi fuori dalla moto. L’infortunio di Febvre è arrivato con alcune complicazioni, ma il francese è ora pronto per il suo ritorno in MXGP!
Il Gran Premio di Germania sarà importante per Tim Gajser del Team HRC che ha la possibilità di riprendersi dopo alcune gare difficili da quando si è ammalato prima della Sardegna. Gajser non è riuscito a salire sul podio negli ultimi tre GP, anche se la gara dell’anno scorso a Teutschenthal è qualcosa su cui basarsi, lo sloveno potrebbe sorprenderci con un’altra vittoria assoluta sulla pista tedesca.
Gajser guida il campionato di 73 punti su Maxime Renaux della Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing, che ha avuto un duro GP di casa e senza dubbio cercherà di fare ammenda in Germania, un GP che ha vinto la scorsa stagione, dopo che a Tom Vialle della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing fu inflitta una sanzione.
Glenn Coldenhoff e Jeremy Seewer di Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing sono una vera minaccia per il podio questo fine settimana, dopo che Coldenhoff si è assicurato il suo terzo posto tra i primi tre in assoluto sul rimbalzo a Ernee con una vittoria in gara due, mentre il suo compagno di squadra Seewer è stato il grande vincitore con un risultato di 1-2 nelle gare. Per entrambi i piloti sembra che gli ultimi due GP siano stati un punto di svolta, in termini di assetto generale e fiducia, quindi sarà interessante vedere se riusciranno a portare avanti questo slancio vincente per la seconda metà della stagione.
Jorge Prado della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing si è avvicinato al gradino più alto del podio da quando è tornato da un infortunio alla spalla in Sardegna. Lo scorso fine settimana, Prado è stato l’uomo di testa in entrambe le gare prima di essere catturato dai ragazzi della Yamaha, che hanno appena dimostrato che lo spagnolo non è ancora fisicamente al 100%, ma può comunque essere competitivo nella parte migliore.
L’eroe di casa Henry Jacobi del JM Honda Racing cercherà di esibire la sua migliore prestazione davanti ai fan tedeschi, e la sua vittoria in gara di qualificazione al GP di Francia sarà senza dubbio una spinta di fiducia e una spinta in più di motivazione per sfidare per il suo miglior risultato stagionale.

Questo fine settimana, Tom Vialle della Red Bull KTM Factory Racing è ancora una volta il favorito dopo aver dominato gli ultimi tre GP di fila. Sarà pieno di fiducia dopo la vittoria a sorpresa nel suo GP di casa e con 11 punti di vantaggio su Jago Geerts del Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing , sarà senza dubbio entusiasta di prendere più punti possibile dal belga.
Lo scorso fine settimana in Francia, Geerts ha avuto di nuovo momenti di lotta. L’incidente in qualifica lo ha fatto sentire di seconda mano, ma ciononostante è riuscito a ottenere due secondi posti molto consistenti dopo intense battaglie con Vialle e il suo compagno di squadra Thibault Benistant della Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing. Geerts ha bisogno di una vittoria per prendere i punti extra di Vialle se vuole mantenere il titolo a portata di mano.
Benistant è un altro pilota che abbiamo potuto vedere combattere nella parte più acuta, dopo aver vinto una gara davanti ai suoi fan di casa e essersi assicurato il suo secondo podio della stagione. È anche un forte pilota duro, cosa che ha già dimostrato in questa stagione, ma una buona partenza sarà la chiave per superare artisti del calibro di Vialle e Geerts.
Il pilota di casa Simon Längenfelder della Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing è un altro pilota che dovrebbe sfidare in prima linea questo fine settimana. Il tedesco ha vinto la gara di qualificazione in Francia l’ultima volta e ha avuto delle ottime partenze che lo hanno portato in testa con Vialle e Geerts. Se riuscirà a fare lo stesso anche questo fine settimana, potrebbe essere una gara da sogno per il tedesco che spera di salire sul podio davanti ai suoi tifosi di casa.

MXGP of Germany Set for Action this Weekend!
MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 8 June 2022 – The 11th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship returns to Teutschenthal, Germany, for this year’s Liqui Moly MXGP of Germany, the 26th edition of the German Grand Prix.
Last year, the MXGP of Germany returned for the first time since 2019 and delivered an explosive weekend that saw the title chase between Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings, Romain Febvre of Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP and Team HRC’s Tim Gajser intensify.
While this year the MXGP championship is far more open, the MX2 title bout however is closer than ever with just 11 points separating Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jago Geerts and this weekend’s races will be crucial.
The hardpack track of Teutschenthal has been part of the FIM Motocross World Championship since the 70’s and first hosted a 250cc Grand Prix in 1971 which was then won by the six-time world champion Joël Robert.
Alongside the main MXGP and MX2 action, this weekend’s races will also see the rounds of EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing, EMX250 as well as the Junior e-Motocross series! As it stands, Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cas Valk heads the 125cc championship while in the 250cc class is led by Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing’s Rick Elzinga who has just a one-point margin over Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Cornelius Toendel.
One of the biggest news of this weekend is that Romain Febvre of Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP will make his much-awaited return behind the gate after six months off the bike. Febvre’s injury came with some complications, but the Frenchman is now ready to make his comeback to MXGP!
The German Grand Prix is going to be an important one for Team HRC’s Tim Gajser who has a chance to bounce back after some tough races since picking up an illness before Sardinia. Gajser has failed to mount the podium in the last three GPs, though if last year’s race in Teutschenthal is anything to go by, the Slovenian could surprise us with another overall victory at the German venue.
Gajser leads the championship by 73-points over Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Maxime Renaux who had a hard home GP and will no doubt be looking to make amends in Germany, a GP that he won last season, after Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle was issued a penalty.
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Glenn Coldenhoff and Jeremy Seewer are real threats for the podium this weekend, after Coldenhoff secured his third overall top three finish on the bounce in Ernée with a race win in race two, while his teammate Seewer was the big winner with a 1-2 result in the races. For both riders, it seems like the last couple of GPs have been a turning point, in terms of overall set-up and confidence, so it will be interesting to see if they can carry on with this winning momentum for the second half of the season.
Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado has been building towards the top step of the box since making his return from a shoulder injury in Sardinia. Last weekend, Prado was the leading man in both races before being caught by the Yamaha guys, which just proved that the Spaniard is not 100% physically yet, but can still be competitive at the sharp end nonetheless.
Home hero Henry Jacobi of JM Honda Racing will be looking to put on his best performance in front of the German fans, and his qualifying race victory from the French GP will no doubt be a confidence boost and an extra push of motivation in order to challenge for his best result of the season.

This weekend, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle is once again the heavy favourite after dominating the last three GP’s in a row. He will be full of confidence after the surprise victory at his home GP and with 11 points ahead of Jago Geerts from Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing, he will no doubt be fired up to take as many points from the Belgian as possible.
Last weekend in France, Geerts again had moments of struggle. The crash in qualifying left him feeling second handed but nonetheless he managed two very consistent second place finishes after intense battles with Vialle and his teammate Thibault Benistant of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing. Geerts needs a victory in order to take the extra points from Vialle if he wants to keep the title within touching distance.
Benistant is another rider who we could see battling at the sharp end, after winning a race in front of his home fans and securing his second podium of the season. He is also a strong hard-pack rider which he proved this season already, but good starts will be a key to getting ahead of the likes of Vialle and Geerts.
Home rider Simon Längenfelder of Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing is another rider who will be expected to challenge at the forefront this weekend. The German won the qualifying race in France last time around and had some strong starts that put him at the front with Vialle and Geerts. If he can do the same again this weekend, it could be a dream race for the German who will be hoping to get on the box in front of his home fans.
