Campionato del Mondo MXGP Portogallo
Siamo giunti al quarto appuntamento del mondiale Mxgp che si è corso in Portogallo ad Agueda prova che non veniva svolta dal 2019. Il team Beta SDM Corse vede il rientro in pista di Alessandro Lupino anche se reduce dall’infortunio patito durante la prima prova del Campionato Italiano a Maggiora. Poca fortuna per Alessandro Lupino che dopo una partenza accorta stava prendendo il giusto ritmo ma a causa di una pietra che lo ha colpito sulla mano infortunata è stato costretto al ritiro.
Alessandro Lupino nella serata di domenica è stato ricoverato in ospedale dove sarà sottoposto ad intervento chirurgico per la rimozione dell’appendicite.
Jeremy Van Horebeek dopo l’ottima prestazione nel Gp di Argentina si trova subito a suo agio sul fondo duro della pista di Agueda e fin dalle prove libere ottiene ottimi tempi.
Nelle prove cronometrate Jeremy ottiene un ottimo ottavo tempo, Alessandro Lupino chiude con il 15°.
La manche di qualifica ha visto Van Horebeek protagonista, dopo un’ottima partenza si è subito inserito nelle posizioni alte di classifica conquistando il sesto posto, purtroppo nel corso degli ultimi giri un problema tecnico lo ha costretto al ritiro.
In gara 1 Jeremy ha dovuto prendere il via da una posizione al cancello non facile ma grazie ad una ottima partenza e una grandissima rimonta con grinta e determinazione ha chiuso con un eccezionale nono posto.
Nella seconda manche altra prova di spessore per Jeremy, dall’ultimo posto al cancello nel primo giro recupera fino alla quindicesima piazza. Ancora una volta il pilota belga ha dimostrato il suo valore e la sua grande capacità di essere incisivo in gara e sotto la bandiera a scacchi è decimo.
In classifica di giornata chiude con la decima piazza e in campionato rafforza la sua settima posizione. Solo qualche giorno e il Team Beta SDM Corse si sposta ad Arco di Trento per la seconda delle 4 gare che si disputeranno in Italia.
Daniele Marchese team manager commenta così: ”Siamo dispiaciuti per Alessandro, dopo la frattura alla mano destra ha rimediato un’intossicazione alimentare nella giornata di venerdì che lo ha debilitato a tal punto da non consentirgli di prendere parte alle due manche di domenica speriamo che si possa rimettere presto in forma. Fine settimana non facile per Jeremy dopo un problema nella manche di sabato quando si trovava in sesta posizione ha dovuto partire da una posizione al cancello non ottimale. Nelle due manche ha rimontato molto bene con due ottimi risultati, una grande prestazione di carattere e siamo molto soddisfatti.

We have reached the fourth round of the Mxgp World Championship which took place in Portugal in Agueda, proof that it had not been held since 2019.
The Beta SDM Corse team sees Alessandro Lupino return to the track even though he is recovering from the injury suffered during the first round of the Italian Championship in Maggiora.
Jeremy Van Horebeek after an excellent performance in the Argentine GP is immediately at ease on the hard surface of the Agueda track and has set excellent times since free practice.
In timed practice Jeremy gets an excellent eighth time, Alessandro Lupino closes with the 15th.
The qualifying heat saw Van Horebeek protagonist, after an excellent start he immediately entered the top positions of the standings by winning sixth place, unfortunately during the last laps a technical problem forced him to retire.
Little luck for Alessandro Lupino who after a shrewd start was picking up the right pace but due to a stone that hit him on the injured hand he was forced to retire.
Alessandro Lupino on Sunday evening was hospitalized where he will undergo surgery for the removal of appendicitis.
In race 1 Jeremy had to start from a difficult position at the gate but thanks to an excellent start and a great comeback with grit and determination he finished with an exceptional ninth place.
In the second heat another thick test for Jeremy, from last place at the gate in the first lap he recovers up to fifteenth place. Once again the Belgian driver has shown his worth and his great ability to be incisive in the race and under the checkered flag he is tenth.
In the standings of the day he closes with the tenth place and in the championship strengthens his seventh position.
Only a few days and the Beta SDM Corse Team moves to Arco di Trento for the second of the 4 races that will be held in Italy.
Daniele Marchese team manager comments as follows: “We are sorry for Alessandro, after the fracture in his right hand he remedied food poisoning on Friday that weakened him to the point of not allowing him to take part in the two heats on Sunday. can get back into shape soon. Not an easy weekend for Jeremy after a problem in Saturday’s heats when he was in sixth position, he had to start from a less than optimal position at the gate. In the two heats he recovered very well with two excellent results, a great performance with character and we are very satisfied.
