MATHYS BOISRAME SET PER L’ORMEGGIO TEMPORANEO RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING MXGP

L’ex campione europeo e di podi del Gran Premio MX2, Mathys Boisrame, prenderà i colori della Red Bull KTM per il primo e il secondo round dell’imminente Campionato mondiale di motocross FIM MXGP 2022 nel Regno Unito e in Italia.

Il francese ha completato diversi giorni di test con i campioni del mondo MXGP in carica e ora guiderà la KTM 450 SX-F ufficiale in assenza del numero 1 Jeffrey Herlings mentre il vincitore del titolo 2021 continua a riprendersi dall’intervento chirurgico al tallone sinistro.

Boisrame prenderà posto sotto il tendone e accanto al connazionale Tom Vialle (che corre con la KTM 250 SX-F nella MX2) per il riorganizzato Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna a Matterley Basin questo sabato e domenica e il Gran Premio di Lombardia a Mantova il seguente fine settimana. Il 23enne ha fatto il suo debutto nella categoria MXGP negli ultimi cinque round del 2021 e ha registrato quattro risultati nella top ten. Boisrame ha vinto la corona europea EMX2018 250 e ha disputato due stagioni e mezzo in MX2 dove è passato in testa al gruppo.

Joel Smets, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager: “Quando hanno posticipato il Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna di un’altra settimana, questo ha dato a noi e a Mathys un po’ più di tempo per fare un po’ di guida e ulteriori test ed è diventato chiaro che potevamo già portarlo nella squadra per il primo turno. Jeffrey è unico: è impossibile trovare un altro pilota come lui ma possiamo apprezzare la velocità e la determinazione di Mathys. Ha già dimostrato di poter correre veloce e forte a livello di Gran Premio. È una buona occasione per lui e per noi alcune miglia importanti in pista”.

MATHYS BOISRAME SET FOR TEMPORARY RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING MXGP BERTH

2022 Red Bull KTM 450 SX-F
 
Former European Champion and MX2 Grand Prix podium finisher, Mathys Boisrame, will step-in to Red Bull KTM colors for the first and second rounds of the imminent 2022 FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship in the UK and Italy.

The Frenchman completed several testing days with the defending MXGP World Champions and will now steer the factory KTM 450 SX-F in the absence of #1 Jeffrey Herlings as the 2021 title winner continues to recover from surgery on his left heel.

 
Boisrame will take a place under the awning and next to countryman Tom Vialle (racing the KTM 250 SX-F in MX2) for the re-arranged British Grand Prix at Matterley Basin this Saturday and Sunday and the Grand Prix of Lombardia at Mantova the following weekend. The 23-year-old made his debut in the MXGP category in the final five rounds of 2021 and posted four top ten moto results. Boisrame won the 2018 EMX250 European crown and contested two and a half seasons in MX2 where he graduated to the front of the pack.
 
Joel Smets, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager: “When they postponed the British Grand Prix another week this gave us and Mathys a little more time to do some riding and further testing and it became clear that we could bring him into the team already for the first round. Jeffrey is unique: it’s impossible to find another rider like him but we can appreciate Mathys’ speed and his determination. He has already shown that he can run fast and strong at Grand Prix level. It’s a good chance for him and some important track miles for us.”
