Petrucci dà il via alla procedura

Ieri Danilo Petrucci è diventato il primo (ex) pilota di Moto GP a vincere una tappa in moto alla Dakar. L’italiano, che ha saputo sfruttare le piste degli avversari, è veloce, velocissimo. Oggi dovrà aprire la strada, ma il rookie potrà sfruttare le tracce lasciate ieri dalle vetture, il che significa che “Petrux” potrebbe addirittura aggiungere un’altra vittoria. Joan Barreda è partito questa mattina dal bivacco a denti stretti tra gli applausi del team Honda HRC. “Bang Bang” è stato precedentemente costretto a ritirarsi cinque volte e non vuole farne sei per la sua dodicesima partecipazione. Spera di raggiungere il traguardo e trarre profitto dal giorno di riposo. È il 26° pilota a partire questa mattina.

Dopo 81 km Sanders mantiene il vantaggio, 1’26 su Walkner (KTM), 1’47 sul compagno di squadra Sunderland, 2’08 su Brabec (Honda), 2’26 su Quintanilla (Honda) e 2’59 davanti a Klein (BAS Dakar KTM). I distacchi sono abbastanza contenuti, perché i primi 15, completati dagli Shercos di Gonçalves e Santolino, sono tutti negli stessi 5 minuti.

09:35 Moto: Gelažninkas guida la categoria Original by Motul

Arūnas Gelažninkas, che ha concluso al 21° posto e ha vinto la categoria Original by Motul lo scorso anno, sta difendendo brillantemente il suo titolo. È stato il 33° pilota a partire questa mattina, con un vantaggio di 3’23 nella classifica generale della sua categoria su Engel Milan, che ha staccato di tre posizioni. Il sudafricano Charan Moore è terzo, davanti a Mario Patro, all’ex vincitore di categoria Emmanuel Gyenes e al francese Benjamin Melot, che ha ricevuto una penalità di 6 minuti.

Mentre Quintanilla è atteso al punto di controllo orario dopo 80 km per avere un’idea migliore dello stato attuale della tappa, i corridori che hanno aperto la speciale hanno seri problemi di navigazione dopo 100 km. È molto probabile che i corridori che partiranno più tardi verranno in prima linea e approfitteranno delle ricerche dei primi per superare questa zona apparentemente difficile.

Ross Branch, secondo a partire, è caduto dalla sua Yamaha nei primi chilometri. La “Kalahari Ferrari” ha riportato contusioni e dolori al fianco destro ed è stato trasportato su strada ai servizi medici al bivacco.

Dopo 40 km, il pilota ufficiale GasGas vanta un vantaggio di 26” su Quintanilla (Honda), 55” su Brabec (Honda), 1’04 sul compagno di squadra Sunderland, oltre 1’10 su Price (KTM) e 1’14 su Walkner (KTM).

Primo pilota ad iniziare la speciale di oggi, Petrucci è caduto dopo 3 minuti di gara. Il debuttante KTM che sta aprendo la strada per la prima volta nella sua breve carriera nella disciplina è già risalito in sella alla sua moto e ha ripreso la tappa. È la sua seconda caduta in due giorni. Ieri è caduto mentre evitava di schiantarsi contro un dromedario.

07:46 Moto: Prezzo 5° per iniziare, Cornejo e Brabec pronti a balzare

Toby Price (KTM), che ieri ha segnato il miglior tempo, ha ricevuto una penalità di 6 minuti per eccesso di velocità e sarà il 5° pilota a partire. 1. 09:47 Moto: Sanders still leads

   After 81 km, Sanders is holding onto his lead, 1’26 in front of Walkner (KTM), 1’47 ahead of his team-mate Sunderland, 2’08 in front of Brabec (Honda), 2’26 ahead of Quintanilla (Honda) and 2’59 in front of Klein (BAS Dakar KTM). The gaps are fairly small, because the top 15, rounded off by the Shercos of Gonçalves and Santolino, are all within the same 5 minutes.

   Arūnas Gelažninkas, who finished in 21st place and won the Original by Motul category last year, is brilliantly defending his title.
