GASGAS ALLA SCOPERTA DELLA GLORIA NEL CAMPIONATO DEL MONDO FIM MOTOCROSS 2022
Preparandoci per quella che sarà la nostra terza stagione della competizione FIM Motocross World Championship, siamo entusiasti di convogliare i nostri sforzi nelle corse attraverso un team nel 2022: Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing! Continuando la nostra ricerca per i trofei del campionato del mondo, con una formazione di piloti super giovani e di grande talento puntiamo in alto con una rinnovata attenzione al successo MXGP e MX2. A guidarci in battaglia nella classe MXGP è il due volte campione del mondo MX2 Jorge Prado mentre in MX2, l’attuale numero quattro del mondo Mattia Guadagnini gareggerà insieme al giovane campione tedesco, Simon Langenfelder.
Dirigendosi verso la sua terza stagione di gare nel campionato mondiale MXGP altamente competitivo, Jorge Prado non vede l’ora che il cancello cada al primo round. Dopo due stagioni di test, ma altamente gratificanti, nella classe regina, lo spagnolo ha superato infortuni e malattie per affermarsi rapidamente come uno dei principali protagonisti in MXGP. Mettendo in campo tutto ciò che ha imparato negli ultimi due anni, Prado ha ora tutte le carte in regola per lottare per il suo terzo titolo mondiale.
A guidare il nostro impegno nel Campionato del Mondo MX2 è l’italiano Mattia Guadagnini, amante del divertimento. Indubbiamente il miglior debuttante nella stagione 2021, il 19enne si è assicurato due vittorie in GP e quattro podi complessivi sulla strada per il quarto posto nella classifica finale. Con una solida stagione di debutto alle spalle, l’italiano è desideroso di iniziare le cose con i nuovi colori della sua squadra, nello stesso luogo in cui si è assicurato la sua prima vittoria nella classe MX2 – Matterley Basin.
Simon Langenfelder si unisce al team e inizia il suo terzo anno di gare con una MC 250F nel Campionato del Mondo MX2. Completando la sua prima stagione completa nel 2021 (l’infortunio ha concluso prematuramente la sua stagione 2020), il giovane si è affermato come un ottimo antipasto con incredibile costanza, finendo l’anno con un meritato 10° posto assoluto. Con l’obiettivo di portare un tocco di velocità in più ai GP del 2022, Simon è sulla strada giusta per contendersi regolarmente le prime cinque posizioni.
Jorge Prado: “È una sensazione davvero speciale per me come spagnolo competere per GASGAS con la sua eredità spagnola, non vedo l’ora di iniziare a correre con i miei nuovi colori a febbraio. Per me iniziare la stagione in anticipo è perfetto perché preferisco correre e già mi sento benissimo sulla nuova moto, quindi sono davvero eccitato per il primo round. Ho imparato così tanto durante le ultime due stagioni in MXGP e sento di poter migliorare ancora di più il mio livello nel 2022. Di sicuro non sarà facile e correrò contro alcuni dei migliori piloti del mondo che hanno molta più esperienza, ma mi sento pronto a combattere ancora una volta con loro. Con quello che ho imparato negli ultimi due anni, credo di poter stare davanti in modo più coerente e sono entusiasta di iniziare la nuova stagione”.
Mattia Guadagnini: “Sono davvero eccitato per la stagione 2022 e far parte del Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing è semplicemente fantastico. I nuovi colori sono così belli e l’allestimento sembra fantastico! È fantastico stare all’interno della stessa struttura di squadra perché è come una grande famiglia, il che è davvero importante per me. Tutto il duro lavoro che abbiamo fatto nell’ultimo anno ha davvero dato i suoi frutti perché ho avuto una stagione così bella nel 2021, è stata anche meglio di quanto mi aspettassi. Sicuramente è stato un anno fantastico e con un altro inverno insieme credo che potremo essere ancora migliori nel 2022 sulle nuove moto GASGAS. Il primo round non è troppo lontano ora e sono così entusiasta di iniziare a Matterley Basin. È una delle mie piste preferite ed è lì che ho vinto la mia prima manche MX2, quindi ho bei ricordi di quel posto. Sarebbe fantastico iniziare la stagione con un buon risultato e portare questo slancio nel resto dell’anno”.
Simon Langenfelder: “Squadra nuova, stessi colori! È super eccitante per me continuare a correre con le moto GASGAS. Con il supporto e la guida di questo team esperto, penso di poter davvero progredire nel Campionato del Mondo MX2. Ho passato molto tempo in Italia con i miei nuovi compagni di squadra di recente e tutto è davvero positivo. Mi sto davvero godendo questo nuovo ambiente e struttura del team. Questa off-season non è così lunga come l’anno scorso, ma di sicuro posso fare dei miglioramenti. Una cosa su cui lavorerò è la mia velocità, per essere più veloce nei primi giri di ogni gara poiché l’intensità dopo la caduta del cancello è così alta. Ma nel complesso, il futuro sembra davvero fantastico e penso che il 2022 sarà l’anno in cui i miei risultati miglioreranno al livello successivo”.
Claudio de Carli – Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team Manager: “È un passo entusiasmante e un grande onore essere alla guida di GASGAS in MXGP la prossima stagione. Con i piloti che abbiamo, Jorge, Mattia e Simon, credo fermamente che possiamo sfidare per entrambi i titoli del campionato mondiale MXGP e MX2 nel 2022. Mancano poco più di due mesi al primo round di febbraio e siamo già in anticipo sul programma per essere pronti per il round di apertura nel Regno Unito. Abbiamo tre piloti davvero talentuosi e da un punto di vista tecnico so che abbiamo le migliori moto in circolazione. È l’inizio di un nuovo capitolo e la squadra non vede l’ora di iniziare la nuova stagione con un look completamente nuovo”.
Robert Jonas – VP Motorsports Offroad: “Il progetto GASGAS è stato entusiasmante fin dall’inizio e dal 2022 GASGAS è destinato ad avere una presenza ancora più forte nel Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross. Concentrare lo sforzo agonistico in una squadra, con tre piloti incredibilmente talentuosi tra MXGP e MX2, è un passo positivo per tutte le persone coinvolte e crediamo che stabilirà ulteriormente GASGAS come una delle squadre più forti del campionato. In vista del campionato 2022 c’è una breve off-season, ma sappiamo che squadra e piloti saranno più che pronti per il primo round di febbraio”.

GASGAS GUNNING FOR GLORY IN THE 2022 FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Gearing up for what will be our third season of FIM Motocross World Championship competition, we’re excited to be channeling our racing efforts through one team in 2022 – Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing! Continuing our quest for world championship trophies, with a super young and super talented rider line-up we’re aiming high with a renewed focus on MXGP and MX2 success. Leading us into battle in the MXGP class is two-time MX2 World Champion Jorge Prado while in MX2, current world number four Mattia Guadagnini will compete alongside young German hotshot, Simon Langenfelder.
Heading into his third season of competition in the highly competitive MXGP World Championship, Jorge Prado can’t wait for the gate to drop at round one. Following two testing, yet highly rewarding seasons in the premier class, the Spaniard has overcome injury and illness to quickly establish himself as one of the main protagonists in MXGP. Bringing everything he has learned during the last two years to the table, Prado now has all in place to challenge for his third world title.
Leading our effort in the MX2 World Championship is fun-loving Italian Mattia Guadagnini. Undoubtedly the best rookie in the 2021 campaign, the 19-year-old secured two GP wins and four overall podium results on his way to placing fourth in the final standings. With a solid debut season under his belt, the Italian is eager to get things started in his new team colors, at the very same venue at which he secured his maiden MX2 class race win – Matterley Basin.
Joining the team and beginning his third year of racing an MC 250F in the MX2 World Championship is Simon Langenfelder. Completing his first full season in 2021 (injury ended his 2020 campaign prematurely), the youngster established himself as a great starter with incredible consistency, ending the year in a well-deserved 10th place overall. Aiming to bring a touch more speed to the GPs in 2022, Simon is on the right path to contend for top-five positions on a regular basis.
Jorge Prado: “It’s a really special feeling for me as a Spaniard to be competing for GASGAS with its Spanish heritage, I can’t wait to start racing in my new colors in February. To begin the season early is perfect for me as I prefer to race and already I feel great on the new bike, so I’m really excited for round one. I’ve learned so much during the last two seasons in MXGP and feel that I can improve my level even more in 2022. For sure it won’t be easy, and I’ll be racing against some of the best racers in the world who have much more experience, but I feel ready to battle with them once again. With what I’ve learned during the last two years I believe I can run up front more consistently and I’m excited to get the new season started.”
Mattia Guadagnini: “I’m really excited for the 2022 season and to be a part of Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing is just amazing. The new colors are so good, and the set-up looks awesome! It’s great to stay within the same team structure as it’s like one big family, which is really important for me. All the hard work that we put in over the last year really paid off as I had such a great season in 2021, it was even better than I expected. For sure it was an amazing year and with another winter together I believe we can be even better in 2022 on the new GASGAS bikes. The first round isn’t too far away now and I‘m so excited to get started at Matterley Basin. It’s one of my favorite tracks and it’s where I won my first ever MX2 moto, so I have fond memories of that place. It would be amazing to start the season with a strong result there and carry that momentum into the rest of the year.”
Simon Langenfelder: “New team, same colors! It’s super exciting for me to continue racing on GASGAS bikes. With the support and guidance of this experienced team, I think I can really progress in the MX2 World Championship. I’ve spent a lot of time in Italy with my new teammates recently and everything is really positive. I’m really enjoying this new environment and team structure. This off-season isn’t quite as long as we had last year but for sure I can make improvements. One thing that I will be working on is my speed, to be faster through the opening laps of each race as the intensity after the gate drop is so high. But overall, the future looks really great, and I think 2022 will be the year that my results improve to the next level.”
Claudio de Carli – Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team Manager: “It is an exciting step and a big honor to be leading GASGAS in MXGP next season. With the riders that we have, Jorge, Mattia, and Simon, I strongly believe that we can challenge for both the MXGP and MX2 World Championship titles in 2022. There are just over two months to go before round one in February and we are already ahead of schedule to be ready for the opening round in the UK. We have three really talented riders and from a technical point of view, I know we have the best bikes out there. It’s the start of a new chapter and the team can’t wait to begin the new season with an all-new look.”
Robert Jonas – VP Motorsports Offroad: “The GASGAS project has been an exciting one from the very beginning, and from 2022 GASGAS is set to have an even stronger presence in the FIM Motocross World Championship. Focusing the racing effort into one team, with three incredibly talented riders across MXGP and MX2, is a positive step for all involved and one that we believe will further establish GASGAS as one of the championship’s strongest teams. Ahead of the 2022 championship there is a short off-season, but we know that the team and riders will be more than ready for the first round in February.”
