Concludendo un’illustre carriera che dura da oltre 16 anni, Zach Osborne ha annunciato il suo ritiro dalle corse professionistiche di motocross e supercross. Negli ultimi sette anni, il 32enne si è assicurato quattro importanti campionati statunitensi e innumerevoli trionfi con il Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team e per questo, Husqvarna Motorcycles desidera esprimere un sincero ringraziamento a Zach mentre si sposta nel suo prossimo capitolo.
Noto per la sua tenacia e la sua mentalità instancabile, Osborne si è affermato come uno dei preferiti dai fan nel corso degli anni, accumulando un impressionante elenco di risultati insieme a Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing. Iniziando una tenace corsa nel 2017 a bordo della FC 250, Osborne ha vinto sia il campionato 250SX Eastern che il campionato AMA 250MX nella stessa stagione prima di tornare a difendere con successo il suo titolo 250SX Eastern nel 2018.
È passato alla classe regina 450 nel 2019 e ha rapidamente raggiunto il suo passo con l’FC 450 ROCKSTAR EDITION, finendo sul podio sette volte (sei nel motocross, uno nel supercross) durante la sua stagione da rookie. Ha continuato ad assicurarsi la sua prima vittoria in carriera al 450SX Main Event al finale di Salt Lake City SX nel 2020 e ha dato fuoco per tutta l’estate rivendicando il campionato 450MX in quella che alla fine sarebbe stata la sua ultima stagione completa di corse a causa del ritorno di un infortunio per tutto il 2021. Zach Osborne: “Dopo 16 anni di corse professionistiche, è giunto il momento per me di definirla una carriera. Ho provato tutto ciò che era in mio potere negli ultimi sei mesi per riportare la mia salute allo standard di cui ha bisogno per correre ai massimi livelli e dopo solo poche settimane di guida supercross a tutta intensità, ho capito che proprio non è destinato ad essere. Sono così grato per il viaggio che ho avuto come professionista. Ho incontrato così tante persone incredibili e ho fatto parte di alcune delle migliori organizzazioni degli sport motoristici. Non è stata una decisione facile, non che l’abbia preso alla leggera, ma è stata la decisione giusta. Sarò per sempre grato alla mia famiglia, ai fan e alle squadre per il loro supporto durante il mio periodo da professionista. Nel prossimo capitolo, voglio concentrare di più il mio tempo sul restituire a coloro che mi hanno dato”.

Le radici pionieristiche di Osborne sono iniziate in realtà con l’azienda austriaca più di 20 anni fa, quando ha lanciato la sua carriera amatoriale nel motocross con KTM nel 1996. Un giovane Osborne è diventato il secondo campione KTM Jr. Racing SX nel ’98 prima di diventare un titolo gli sforzi minimoto del marchio sulla nuova KTM 65SX. Dopo risultati impressionanti a livello nazionale, Osborne è diventato una parte fondamentale nello sviluppo della 85SX di nuova generazione nei primi anni 2000, che ha avuto un impatto significativo sul successo della moto negli ultimi due decenni.
In seguito ha portato il suo talento all’estero per competere nel campionato mondiale di motocross FIM, dove ha collezionato podi MX2 nel campionato mondiale di motocross FIM in 14 carriere, un campionato MX2 britannico e una vittoria nel mondo di motocross FIM in carriera. Ha anche rappresentato gli Stati Uniti come membro del prestigioso team Motocross of Nations (MXoN), nonché del World Trophy Team all’International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).

Wrapping up an illustrious career spanning over 16 years, Zach Osborne has announced his retirement from professional motocross and supercross racing. Over the last seven years, the 32-year-old has secured four major U.S. championships and countless triumphs with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team and for that, Husqvarna Motorcycles would like to express a sincere thanks to Zach as he moves into his next chapter.
Known for his tenacity and never-give-up mentality, Osborne has established himself as a fan favorite over the years while amassing an impressive list of accomplishments together with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing. Beginning a tenacious run in 2017 aboard the FC 250, Osborne swept both the 250SX Eastern Championship and the AMA 250MX Championship in the same season before returning to successfully defend his 250SX Eastern title in 2018.
He stepped up to the premier 450 class in 2019 and he quickly hit his stride on the FC 450 ROCKSTAR EDITION, finishing on the podium seven times (six in motocross, one in supercross) during his rookie season. He went on to secure his first-career 450SX Main Event win at the Salt Lake City SX finale in 2020 and he set fire throughout the summer claiming the 450MX Championship in what would ultimately serve as his last full season of racing due to an ongoing back injury throughout 2021. Ending his career on a high note with plenty to be proud of, Husqvarna Motorcycles sends a big congratulations to Zach on a successful career.
Zach Osborne: “After 16 years of professional racing, the time has come for me to call it a career. I’ve tried everything in my power over the last six months to get my health back up to the standard it needs to be to race at the highest level and after just a few weeks of riding supercross at full intensity, I realized it just wasn’t meant to be. I’m so grateful for the journey I’ve had as a professional. I’ve met so many incredible people and been a part of some of the finest organizations in motorsports. This was not an easy decision, or one I took lightly, but it was the right decision. I’m forever grateful to my family, fans and teams for their support throughout my time as a professional. In the next chapter, I want to focus my time more on giving back to those who have given to me.”

Osborne’s pioneering roots actually began with the Austrian-based company more than 20 years ago as he launched his amateur motocross career with KTM in 1996. A young Osborne became the second-ever KTM Jr. Racing SX Champion in ‘98 before going on to headline the brand’s minibike efforts on the new KTM 65SX. Following impressive results at the national level, Osborne became an instrumental part in developing the new-generation 85SX in the early 2000s, which has significantly impacted the bike’s success over the last two decades.
He later took his talents overseas to compete in the FIM World Motocross Championship, where he collected 14-career FIM World Motocross Championship MX2 podiums, a British MX2 Championship and one-career FIM World Motocross win. He also represented the U.S. as a member of the prestigious Motocross of Nations (MXoN) team, as well as the World Trophy Team at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).
