Finita la stagione per Ivo Monticelli
Ivo Monticelli, costretto al ritiro dal GP di Turchia a causa di un infortunio alla spalla, sarà sottoposto in settimana ad un intervento correttivo; il pilota Monster Energy KRT non potrà correre di nuovo questa stagione.
Primo pilota italiano ad unirsi al Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team, Ivo ha svolto un ruolo importante durante l’inverno insieme a Romain Febvre poiché entrambi i piloti sono stati profondamente coinvolti nei test e nello sviluppo della KX450-SR. Con la sua natura amichevole Ivo era il compagno di squadra perfetto per Romain poiché entrambi i corridori trascorrevano molto tempo insieme e sviluppavano uno stretto rapporto sociale e lavorativo. In Repubblica Ceca ha mostrato il suo potenziale con un risultato tra i primi cinque, ma al round successivo in Belgio si è lussato la spalla ed è stato costretto al ritiro. Al suo ritorno alle gare nelle successive gare di campionato ha riscontrato ulteriore disagio ed ha dovuto ritirarsi in Turchia quando la spalla gli è saltata di nuovo fuori; dopo una serie di esami medici Ivo è stato avvisato che l’unica opzione è l’intervento chirurgico.
Ivo Monticelli: “Al rientro in Italia ho fatto più visite mediche, mercoledì il dottor Porcellini mi opera. Non c’era altra soluzione per la mia spalla e purtroppo devo terminare la mia stagione in quanto il periodo di recupero è tra i due ei tre mesi. Dopodiché potrò ricominciare a correre ma la stagione agonistica sarà finita. Voglio ringraziare tutti al Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team per il loro supporto; mi hanno dato il miglior supporto che potessi aspettarmi per tutta la stagione e auguro buona fortuna a Romain nella sua caccia al titolo mondiale”.
Ciao a tutti….purtroppo la mia stagione 2021 finisce qui.
Dopo la caduta a lommel dove ho riportato la lussazione della spalla ho provato a continuare a correre ma purtroppo la spalla era troppo instabile e nelle prove della Turchia è uscita nuovamente senza nemmeno cadere.
Per questo sono costretto a procedere con un intervento chirurgico e saltare tutto il campionato.
Non è facile perché quest’anno mi sentivo veramente in forma ma purtroppo non sono riuscito a concretizzare.

End of season for Ivo Monticelli
Ivo Monticelli, forced to withdraw from the MXGP of Turkey due to a shoulder injury, will undergo corrective surgery this week; the Monster Energy KRT rider will not be able to race again this season.
The first Italian rider to join the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team, Ivo played a major role throughout the winter alongside Romain Febvre as both riders were deeply involved in testing and developing yet further the KX450-SR. With his friendly nature Ivo was the perfect teammate for Romain as both riders spent a lot of time together and developed a close social and working relationship. In Czech Republic he showed his potential with a top-five result, but at the next round in Belgium he dislocated his shoulder and was forced to withdraw from the race. On his return to racing at the following rounds of the championship he encountered further discomfort and had to pull out in Turkey when his shoulder popped out again; after a series of medical examinations Ivo has been advised that the only option is surgery.
Ivo Monticelli: “I had more medical examinations when I got back to Italy, and Doctor Porcellini will carry out surgery on Wednesday. There was no other solution for my shoulder, and unfortunately I have to end my season as the recovery period is between two and three months. After that I will be able to start riding again but the racing season will be over. I want to thank everyone at the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team for their support; they gave me the best support I could expect throughout the season and I wish Romain good luck in his chase for the world title.”
