Osterhagen, Barbieri e Katona incoronati campioni del mondo FIM Junior e vincitrice della Coppa del Mondo in Grecia

MEGALOPOLIS (Grecia) 1 agosto 2021 – I Campioni del Mondo FIM Junior 2021 e Vincitore della Coppa del Mondo sono stati incoronati a Megalopolis, in Grecia, dopo alcune gare impressionanti che hanno visto Haakon Osterhagen del Fantic Factory Team Maddii diventare il Campione del Mondo Junior 125cc di quest’anno, mentre Mattia Barbieri è stato incoronato il Campione del Mondo Junior 85cc e Aaron Katona il vincitore della Coppa del Mondo 65cc. Nel frattempo, nella classifica delle Nazioni, è stata la squadra italiana a vincere ancora una volta, precedendo la squadra ungherese e la squadra olandese.

Nella prima gara della 125cc è stato Bence Pergol a prendere la Fox Holeshot, anche se è stato Osterhagen a prendere il comando nel primo giro e poi ha condotto il resto della gara fino alla bandiera a scacchi. Raul Sanchez è entrato in contatto con un doppiato davanti alla pitlane, mentre Gorgios Vagenas ha rischiato di cadere ma è riuscito a rimanere in partita, anche se gli è costato la seconda posizione. Il Campione del Mondo 85cc dello scorso anno Valerio Lata di MRT Racing Team KTM ha concluso la gara secondo dopo aver sfruttato al massimo l’opportunità offertagli grazie all’errore di Sanchez, che ha concluso la gara al terzo posto.

Nella seconda gara è stato Osterhagen a prendere il secondo Fox Holeshot, ha abbassato la testa e ha controllato il resto della gara per andare 1-1 e diventare il campione del mondo 125cc Junior di quest’anno. Mentre Osterhagen era in testa, c’è stata una bella battaglia tra Kay Karssemakers e Lata per il secondo posto, con la coppia ruota a ruota per l’intera gara. Alla fine è stato Lata a finire secondo con Karssemakers terzo.

Il punteggio di gara perfetto ha consegnato a Osterhagen la vittoria assoluta, mentre due solidi secondi posti hanno messo Lata al secondo posto con Karssemakers al terzo posto con un risultato di 7-3.

Dopo la prima gara, dove ho esaurito le energie a causa del caldo, ho deciso di essere pronto per quello che sarebbe successo e ho fatto del mio meglio. Nella categoria 85cc, Martins Janis Reisulis ha ottenuto il primo Fox Holeshot della giornata, poiché un paio di piloti sono stati coinvolti in una caduta sin dall’inizio. Reisulis ha condotto l’intera gara sotto la pressione immensa del vincitore della Coppa del Mondo 65cc dello scorso anno, Marek Vitezslav, che stava spingendo da dietro. Sfortunatamente, all’ultimo giro Reisulis ha finito il carburante che ha permesso a Vitezslav di prendere la vittoria. Noel Zanocz ha concluso la gara secondo davanti a Mattia Barbieri.

La seconda gara ha visto Vitezslav prendere la Fox Holeshot e condurre la gara sotto la pressione di Barbieri. Il pilota ceco ha spinto forte fino all’ultimo giro quando è stato superato dall’italiano che ha fatto una mossa rischiosa che alla fine ha pagato.

Con un risultato di 3-1, Barbieri è stato dichiarato Campione del Mondo 85cc a pari punti con Vitezslav che ha ottenuto un risultato di 1-3. Terzo è stato Zanocz che ha concluso 2-5 nelle gare.

La gara di apertura della 65cc ha visto Andrea Uccellini prendere la Fox Holeshot mentre guidava la gara e sembrava a suo agio in testa, anche se a soli due giri dalla fine, l’italiano è stato superato da Aaron Katona che era il vincitore della gara, Uccellini era secondo e Sleny Goyer era terzo.

Nella seconda gara Uccellini ha preso ancora una volta la Fox Holeshot, anche se la seconda gara si è svolta molto come la prima in quanto è stata Katona a vincere, con Goyer secondo e Uccellini che è sceso al terzo.

Con due vittorie in gara, Katona ha ottenuto il punteggio perfetto per quel titolo 65cc, mentre Goyer è arrivato secondo e Uccellini terzo.

CLASSIFICHE NAZIONI E RIDE GREEN CUP

Nelle classifiche per nazioni, è stato il Team Italia a vincere con otto punti grazie ai grandi risultati dei loro corridori Valerio Lata, Mattia Barbieri e Andrea Uccellini, mentre al secondo posto con 10 punti è stato il Team Hungary con ottimi risultati di Bence Pergel, nel Zanocz e Aaron Katona. Il terzo posto è stato il Team Netherlands a 20 punti con Kay Karssemakers, Lotte Van Drunen e Dex Van Den Broek.

Nel frattempo, il Team Estonia è stato dichiarato vincitore della Ride Green Cup per aver dimostrato la propria dedizione alla cura del proprio ambiente.

Osterhagen, Barbieri and Katona Crowned FIM Junior World Champions and World Cup Winner in Greece

MEGALOPOLIS (Greece) 1 August 2021 – The 2021 FIM Junior World Champions and World Cup Winner have been crowned in Megalopolis, Greece after some impressive races that saw Fantic Factory Team Maddii’s Haakon Osterhagen become this year’s 125cc Junior World Champion, while Mattia Barbieri was crowned the 85cc Junior World Champion and Aaron Katona the 65cc World Cup Winner. Meanwhile in the Nations standings, it was Team Italy who were victorious once again, finishing ahead of Team Hungary and Team Netherlands.

In the first 125cc race it was Bence Pergol who took the Fox Holeshot, though it was Osterhagen who took the lead in the first lap and then led the rest of the race until the chequered flag. Raul Sanchez made contact with a lapped rider in front of pitlane, while Gorgios Vagenas almost crashed but managed to stay in the game, though it cost him second position. Last year’s 85cc World Champion Valerio Lata of MRT Racing Team KTM finished the race second after making the most of the opportunity handed to him thanks to the mistake of Sanchez, who finished the race third.

In the second race it was Osterhagen who took the second Fox Holeshot, got his head down and controlled the rest of the race to go 1-1 and become this year’s 125cc Junior World Champion. While Osterhagen led, there was a nice battle between Kay Karssemakers and Lata for second, with the pair wheel-to-wheel for the entire race. Eventually though it was Lata who finished second with Karssemakers third.

The perfect race score handed Osterhagen the overall victory, while two solid second place finishes put Lata second with Karssemakers placing third with a 7-3 result.

125cc Junior World Champion, Haakon Osterhagen: “I won basically everything except one holeshot in the first race. After the first race, where I ran out of energy due to the heat, I decided to be ready for what would come and I did my best. This is very great success for me and for my country. In the 85cc category, Martins Janis Reisulis took the first Fox Holeshot of the day, as a couple of riders were involved in a crash out of the start. Reisulis led the whole race while coming under immense pressure from last year’s 65cc World Cup Winner, Marek Vitezslav who was pushing from behind. Unfortunately, on the very last lap Reisulis ran out of fuel which allowed Vitezslav to take the win. Noel Zanocz finished the race second ahead of Mattia Barbieri.

The second race saw Vitezslav take the Fox Holeshot and lead the race while coming under pressure from Barbieri. The Czech rider pushed hard until the last lap when he was passed by the Italian who made a risky move which ultimately paid off.

With a 3-1 result, Barbieri was declared the 85cc World Champion as he tied on points with Vitezslav who had a 1-3 result. Third was Zanocz who finished 2-5 in the races.

The opening 65cc race saw Andrea Uccellini take the Fox Holeshot as he led the race and was looking comfortable in the lead, though with just two laps to go, the Italian was passed by Aaron Katona who was the race winner, Uccellini was second and Sleny Goyer was third.

In the second race Uccellini took the Fox Holeshot once again, though the second race unfolded much like the first as it was Katona who took the win, with Goyer second and Uccellini dropping to third.

With two race wins, Katona got the perfect score to that 65cc title, while Goyer finished second and Uccellini third.

NATIONS CLASSIFICATIONS AND RIDE GREEN CUP

In the nations’ classifications, it was Team Italy who was victorious with eight points thanks to the great results by their riders Valerio Lata, Mattia Barbieri and Andrea Uccellini, while placing second with 10 points was Team Hungary with strong results from Bence Pergel, Noel Zanocz and Aaron Katona. Finishing third were Team Netherlands on 20 points with Kay Karssemakers, Lotte Van Drunen and Dex Van Den Broek.

Meanwhile Team Estonia were declared the winners of the Ride Green Cup for showing their dedication to caring for their environment.
