The second half of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will kick off with the anticipated return to the scenic Pacific Northwest and the unique challenge of Washington’s Washougal MX Park. This season signifies the landmark 40th running of the Washougal National, and fans from throughout this passionate region of motocross enthusiasts are ready to cheer on the world’s best racers as they once again do battle on Horsepower Hill, navigate the rockers, and look for the quickest way through the catcher’s mitt.

Although he saw his three-race winning streak come to an end at the previous round, Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis was still able to add to his advantage in the 450 Class standings. Currently, a total of 32 points sit between the Frenchman and his German rival, Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen. Additionally, Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia is coming off a historic win for the sport’s newest manufacturer, while Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac continues to build momentum in search of his return to the top step of the podium.

In the 250 Class, the points lead changed hands for the first time as Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Justin Cooper took possession of the red plate from Team Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence. Just six points separate the title contenders in what has been a historic first half for the division with six different winners through the first six rounds. All eyes will be watching to see if one of these six riders can seize the moment to become the first repeat winner of the 2021 season.
