Spostamento del Southwick National dal 2021 al 10 luglio
La nuova data servirà come Round 5 del Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
A seguito del rinnovo recentemente annunciato in varie restrizioni COVID-19 nel Commonwealth del Massachusetts, MX Sports Pro Racing ha annunciato una data dell’evento aggiornata per il Southwick National. La visita annuale nel New England era originariamente prevista per il 26 giugno, ma ora inizierà il 10 luglio come quinto round del Campionato Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 2021, sancito da AMA Pro Racing.
La decisione di spostare Southwick in una data successiva è nel tentativo di accogliere meglio gli organizzatori di eventi presso The Wick 338. A causa di precedenti preoccupazioni nella comunicazione in corso con i funzionari sanitari statali e locali nella contea di Hampden per ospitare grandi raduni pubblici, i preparativi per quest’anno dell’evento sono stati brevemente interrotti. Tuttavia, a seguito dell’ultimo annuncio del governatore del Massachusetts Charlie Baker di revocare le restanti restrizioni dello stato, lo staff del The Wick 338 ha ripreso i suoi sforzi per accogliere il previsto ritorno del motocross americano, dopo l’annullamento dell’evento la scorsa stagione.
“Vogliamo lodare Rick Johnson, Keith Johnson e il team di The Wick 338 per la loro capacità di recupero nell’ultimo anno”, ha affermato Roy Janson, amministratore delegato di MX Sports Pro Racing. “Hanno affrontato un compito piuttosto difficile orientarsi nelle strategie di mitigazione dello stato, ma sono rimasti fermi nel fare tutto il possibile per ospitare con successo il Southwick National per la stagione 2021. Il campionato di motocross Lucas Oil Pro 2021 inizierà sabato 29 maggio con il Fox Raceway I National nel sud della California. Con la sua nuova data sul calendario, il Southwick National passerà dal Round 4 della stagione al Round 5, dopo il RedBud National durante le festività del Giorno dell’Indipendenza.
La disponibilità dei biglietti per il Southwick National sarà annunciata nel prossimo futuro.

Move of 2021 Southwick National to July 10
New Date Will Serve as Round 5 of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship
Following the newly announced lift in various COVID-19 restrictions in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, MX Sports Pro Racing has announced an updated event date for the Southwick National. The annual visit to New England was originally scheduled for June 26, but will now commence on July 10 as the fifth round of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.
The decision to move Southwick to a later date is in an effort to better accommodate event organizers at The Wick 338. Due to previous concerns in the ongoing communication with state and local health officials in Hampden County to host large public gatherings, preparations for this year’s event were briefly halted. However, following the latest announcement from Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to lift the state’s remaining restrictions, the staff at The Wick 338 has resumed its efforts to welcome the anticipated return of American motocross, following the event’s cancellation last season.
“We want to commend Rick Johnson, Keith Johnson, and the team at The Wick 338 for their resiliency over the past year,” said Roy Janson, Managing Director at MX Sports Pro Racing. “They have faced quite a difficult task navigating the state’s mitigation strategies, but have remained steadfast in doing everything possible to successfully host the Southwick National for the 2021 season. Fortunately, their patience has allowed them to reach this celebratory juncture in which fans will be openly welcomed to watch the world’s fastest racers tackle the hallowed sands of Southwick, albeit at a slightly later date than originally planned.”
The 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will begin on Saturday, May 29, with the Fox Raceway I National in Southern California. With its new date on the calendar, the Southwick National will move from Round 4 of the season to Round 5, following the RedBud National over the Independence Day holiday.
Ticket availability for the Southwick National will be announced in the near future.
