QUARTO POSTO PER JUSTIN BARCIA A ORLANDO SX 1

TROY LEE DESIGNS / RED BULL / GASGAS FACTORY RACING IN CERCA DI RISCATTO LA PROSSIMA SETTIMANA

È stata una notte complessivamente positiva per Justin Barcia di Troy Lee Designs / Red Bull / GASGAS Factory Racing, che è arrivato appena fuori dal podio della 450SX dopo una battaglia serrata al settimo round del 2021 AMA Supercross Championship a Orlando, Florida. Il compagno di squadra Michael Mosiman è stato nuovamente messo da parte mentre continua a riprendersi da un infortunio alla mano.

Barcia ha avuto un inizio discreto per la serata, conquistando una posizione tra i primi cinque all’inizio della sua gara di heat. Si è fatto strada fino al quarto posto a metà e l’ha portato a casa per un buon trasferimento del quarto posto. Nel Main Event, Barcia ha superato un brutto salto dalla linea rimanendo all’esterno e incanalandosi in quinta durante i primi turni. È arrivato terzo all’inizio e ha stabilito una solida corsa sul podio per più di metà della gara. Ha commesso un errore con le whoops e ha perso il terzo, ma è stato in grado di mantenere il suo slancio abbastanza da mantenere il quarto. Si è ripreso e ha fatto un ultimo disperato tentativo di recuperare il terzo posto, ma non è stato sufficiente per atterrare sul podio di Orlando.

Barcia: “È stato un errore deludente nelle whoops che mi è costato davvero il podio. Ho spinto più che potevo per cercare di ottenere il passaggio su di lui (Osborne) ma non sono riuscito a farlo. So decisamente di avere la velocità, ho solo bisogno di mettere tutto insieme e andare avanti. È stato un po ‘frustrante, ma è stata una buona guida e sono sano e pronto per passare al prossimo Orlando “.

Michael Mosiman non si è schierato per il 7 ° round ma è apparso a Orlando per sostenere la sua squadra. Il giovane pilota ha ricevuto questa settimana una notizia positiva che non è necessario alcun intervento chirurgico per riparare la sua mano rotta, quindi indosserà un tutore per le prossime tre settimane nella speranza di recuperare rapidamente.

It was an overall positive night for Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia, who finished just off the 450SX podium after a close battle at the seventh round 2021 AMA Supercross Championship in Orlando, Florida. Teammate Michael Mosiman was sidelined once again as he continues to recover from a hand injury.
 
Barcia had a low-key start to the night, grabbing a top-five position off the start of his heat race. He worked his way into fourth halfway through and brought it home for a smooth fourth-place transfer. In the Main Event, Barcia overcame a bad jump off the line by sticking to the outside and funneling into fifth through the first turns. He moved into third early on and established a solid podium run for more than half the race. He made a mistake through the whoops and lost third but he was able to keep his momentum rolling enough to hold onto fourth. He collected himself and put in a last-ditch effort to reclaim third but it wasn’t enough to land on the podium in Orlando.
 
Barcia: “It was a bummer mistake in the whoops that really cost me the podium. I pushed as hard as I could to try to get the pass on him but wasn’t able to get it done. I definitely know I have the speed, I just need to put everything together and move on from it. It was a little frustrating but it was good riding and I’m healthy and ready to move onto the next Orlando.”
 
Michael Mosiman didn’t line up for Round 7 but he made an appearance in Orlando to support his team. The young rider received positive news this week that no surgery is required to repair his broken hand so he will wear a cast for the next three weeks in hopes of making a swift recovery.
