Testate giornalistiche di rilievo cantano già vittoria di un europeo nel Supercross Americano, ma non considerano che i conti si fanno alla fine, come dice un amico “fino alla bandiera a scacchi è gara!” e così sarà per le prossime 11 gare, Roczen solo 16 punti di vantaggio e altri 5 piloti pronti a soffiargli la tabella rossa!
Partiamo da Barcia che butta via una gara dove avrebbe portato a casa un podio e punti importanti, Justin è discusso per due azioni di gara, la prima un entrata aggressiva su Roczen poche curve dopo la partenza, ma i due si sono chiariti dove il pilota TLD asserisce in un errore e viene confermato da Carmichael, la seconda è il doppiato che “taglia” la strada su un salto facendo finire Barcia a terra, con lui anche Tomac che però riprende la moto e chiude 7°, della vicenda si discute e si pensa ad una careggia presa male con relativo spostamento senza senso, diciamo che può capitare che un doppiato rovini la gara ad un altro pilota, aspettiamo Justin ad Orlando!
Musquin torna sul podio, ovviamente grazie alla caduta di Tomac e Barcia, Marvin quest’anno fatica a trovare il ritmo, complice la pista molto stretta e segnata, infatti Cooper Webb ha provato l’attacco su Roczen negli ultimi giri a il tedesco è stato cauto con i doppiati e quando poteva si teneva a distanza!
Prova discreta per Cianciarulo anche sbaglia ancora, Malcolm Stewart e di Anderson reduce da un infortunio al dito dove rimedia uno zero a Indy 2, Sabato si va ad Orlando e anche qui ci sarà doppia tappa ma non infrasettimanale, Sabato 13 e Sabato 20.

Ken Roczen: “È stato fantastico, non mi stavo trovando molto bene con la pista, non mi sento come se la stessi guidando bene come avrei dovuto, quindi questo mi rende ancora più entusiasta di ottenere quella vittoria. Voglio ringraziere la mia squadra, i ragazzi della Honda e al mio meccanico, per mantenere la calma e per avermi dato una buona moto. Lungo la strada sono entrato in contatto con Justin Barcia, che mi ha picchiato abbastanza forte e ha piegato un po ‘il cambio; Non sono stato in grado di cambiare fino a circa mezzo giro dopo. Ho mantenuto le mie traiettorie e mi sono concentrato il più possibile e abbiamo fatto i tre tornei, portando a casa un’altra vittoria su una pista che non era proprio la mia preferita. Cooper Webb: “Penso di aver finalmente capito questo shock ad aria ed è enorme. Ma oggi abbiamo fatto un enorme passo in avanti con il setup e il comfort della moto. Mi sento come se fossi proprio lì ed è una lunga serie, spero che torneremo presto al primo posto “.
Marvin Musquin: “Il mio obiettivo stasera era rimanere su due ruote ed essere più paziente. Gli ultimi due o tre round sono stati molto frustranti per me. Sono stato molto aggressivo nel tentativo di realizzarli, nel primo round sono finito ultimo e sono dovuto tornare indietro. Stasera forse ero troppo paziente, ho perso qualche posto nel primo giro, ma dopo sono riuscito a superare Adam e Malcolm. Stasera ero al quinto posto ma si corre e i due ragazzi davanti a me sono caduti e io sono arrivato terzo. È bello essere sul podio, ma stasera il quinto posto era il mio “.
Christian Craig: “Sì, l’intera giornata è stata libera per me, non sono riuscito a guidare una sola prova, il mio tempo in qualifica non era buono e mi sentivo come se stessi ancora imparando la pista nella gara di qualifica. Ho visto il mio compagno di squadra cadere al primo giro, spero stia bene perché sembrava tosta. Amico, per avere uno di questi giorni e finire così, sono veramente grato. ”
Colt Nichols: “Quella è stata una battaglia. Stavo superando il gruppo e nel primo giro stavo facendo un triplo e Christian era già sull’altra zona ritmica prima del traguardo. Ho solo continuato a scavare. Le grida dal mio allenatore Gareth Swanepoel mi motivavano, ho lavorato molto duramente sin dall’anno scorso a Salt Lake City e sento che la mia forma fisica è buona. Ho solo continuato a scavare. Io e Jett abbiamo avuto una battaglia piuttosto malata, che ha reso divertente andare avanti e indietro in quel modo. Non posso davvero essere deluso, ho fatto tutto alla perfezione, a parte quell’inizio, ma poi ho commesso un errore di testa. Capita. Devo riprendermi il prossimo fine settimana. ”

Ken Roczen: “This was amazing, I wasn’t gelling with the track very well, I don’t feel like I was riding it as well as I should, so that just makes me all the more stoked to get that win. I want to give it up to my team, the Honda guys and my mechanic, for keeping a cool head and giving me a good bike. “Indianapolis 3 was a fantastic night. We started off in practice with a little bit of a struggle–just not really getting along with the track very well. I felt fine out there, but I simply wasn’t fast enough. We went into the night show though, and I knew that I was a better racer and that we were going to get a good result. After that we took the heat-race win and were able to get a good gate pick for the main event; sure enough, I got a really good start. Along the way, I came in contact with Justin Barcia, who hit me pretty hard and bent my shifter a bit; I wasn’t able to shift until like half a lap later. I held my lines and focused as much as I could and we did the three-peat, taking home another win on a track that wasn’t really my favorite. Those kinds of nights are when you get another step closer to a championship run, and it was really important for us to get more points and be gaining instead of losing. I’m so happy to finish all three Indianapolis main events in first, as I’ve never gone three in a row. This is huge for me and the team, and I’m looking to continue this streak when we come back next weekend in Orlando.”
Cooper Webb: “It was a great day, a step in the right direction, a lot of good qualifying times but I just came up short in the main event. So close, so far. Ken rode great and adjusted as the race went. I felt like I put in a good charge and got around Bam Bam and really put my head down and got close. I missed the rhythm with two to go, I felt like that really kind of killed it for me, but he rode a great race and beat me straight.. But we made a huge step today with setup and bike comfort. I feel like I’m right there and it’s a long series, I hope we get back to that top spot soon.”
Marvin Musquin: “My goal tonight was to stay on two wheels and be more patient. The last two or three rounds have been super frustrating to me. I’ve been very aggressive trying to make it happen in the first lap, and ended up going down to dead last and had to come back. Tonight I was maybe too patient, I lost a few spots in the first lap, but after that I was able to pass Adam and Malcolm. I was a fifth-place guy tonight but it’s racing and the two guys in front of me went down and I got third. Feels good to be on the podium, but fifth place was my place tonight.”
Christian Craig: “Yeah the whole day was off for me, I didn’t get to ride one practice, my qualifying time wasn’t good and I felt like I was still learning the track in the heat race. I saw my teammate go down on the first lap, I hope he’s okay because that looked like a good one. Man, to have one of these days and it end up like this, I’m truly thankful.”
Colt Nichols: “That was a battle. I was coming through the pack and the first lap I was going over a triple and Christian was already on the other rhythm before the finish. I just kept digging. Shout out to my trainer Gareth Swanepoel, I’ve been working really hard ever since Salt Lake City last year, and I feel like my fitness is good. I just kept digging. Me and Jett actually had a pretty sick battle, that made fun going back and forth like that. I can’t really be disappointed, I did everything perfect, xecuted that start to a T, but then I made a boneheaded mistake. That happens. I gotta rebound next weekend.”
Jo Shimoda: “I think this one I could say I got a podium. Good start, kind of pushed pushed pushed and just kept my own pace. I know Christian was pulling away. I just want to thank everyone, my mom and dad, this was a real podium.”
