Che gara ragazzi e che campionato sta venendo fuori……11 piloti tutti attaccati, certo è solo la terza gara, è un peccato non avere Sexton che avrebbe detto la sua, ma ne abbiamo altri, Cianciarulo ha un anno di esperienza, Roczen sembra aver ritrovato la sua condizione ottimale, deve solo lavorare sull’aggressività e poi diventa completissimo (aggressività da gara non fraintendete). Webb pare stia trovando la strada per la moto perfetta, Tomac guadaga altre due posizioni in campionato, Barcia ha perso il comando ma recupera da errori e un 4° posto non è male!
Insomma, tutto molto bello, ora c’è pausa di una settimana fino a sabato, naturalmente anche la 250 è bella, ma ha pochi piloti che possono lottare, sembra una gara tra compagni di team, salvo Lawrence, Forkner fuori e forse per un paio di gare!
Vedremo come si procederà, la cosa bella è che le gare smentiscono tanti commenti letti in giro!

Cooper Webb: Ovviamente non era l’ideale, abbiamo preso un sacco di doppiati ed è stata dura. Ho perso molto a quel punto e sapevo che eravamo vicini in tempo e sapevo che sarebbe stata dura. Abbiamo accorciato un po ‘il gap e alla fine ho fatto una bella carica. È stata una gara serrata per tutto il tempo e Kenny [Roczen] ha corso una gara solida senza molti errori. La pista era davvero difficile, facile da superare e diventare impaziente. Come ho detto, i lapper lì alla fine sono stati un peccato, sentivo che avremmo avuto una bella battaglia, e ovviamente l’abbiamo fatto, ma i lapper sono stati davvero duri stasera. Sono rimasto lì e mi sono lanciato in quell’ultimo giro e l’ho realizzato. Devo davvero ringraziare alla mia squadra, sono fantastici. Stiamo migliorando (da un infortunio alla schiena fuori stagione) ma è stata una lotta e non era la bassa stagione che speravo e abbiamo alcune cose nuove sulla moto e le condizioni di gara sono diverse dai test. Stiamo cambiando le cose ogni volta che siamo sulla moto e la cosa più grande è che non volevamo fare era non avere la moto selezionata e ci sono enormi cambiamenti dal primo round.
Ken Roczen: Ho corso gli ultimi giri per combattere. Quando ci siamo imbattuti nei lapper ho dovuto cambiare le linee ed ero pronto a dare tutto, ma Wilson ha detto che non mi aveva sentito, ma sono sicuro che c’erano bandiere blu in giro. Pensavo che si sarebbe spostato e ci avrebbe lasciato passare ed ero pronto per l’azione, ma ho colpito la parte posteriore della sua ruota e poi gli sono quasi saltato dietro. Era difficile spostarsi, ma allo stesso tempo era una corsa tipo slot machine. Se non fosse stato per l’innocente, stanotte sarebbe stata mia. Una parte di me vuole fare un buco nel muro. Ho messo a dura prova la mia pazienza, quindi starò calmo. È stato un peccato l’ultimo giro, lui (Wilson) era davanti a me e io stavo urlando e gridando e ha detto che non mi aveva sentito. È molto frustrante, ma mi manterrò calmo. Anche se ti metti nei miei panni. È molto grande perché questi punti sono preziosi, e questa vittoria era mia se non fossi stato davanti a me per 3/4 di giro. 3 punti qui, 4 punti lo scorso fine settimana … Voglio dire che sta iniziando a diventare un po ‘stressante. Adam Cianciarulo: “Finalmente ho finito la gara da dove ero partito e in tutta serietà, oggi è stata una buona giornata su cui costruire. Il primo round a Houston è stato discreto ma non avevo la velocità per correre con il gruppo di testa, e poi Martedì al Round 2 ho fatto saltare tutto, quindi oggi mi sono detto che dovevamo solo rimanere attenti al presente ed eseguire il modo in cui ci alleniamo ogni settimana. Mi sono sentito bene tutto il giorno essendo il più veloce nelle prove libere e poi subito dietro Eli (Tomac ) in qualifica. Ero gasato nella mia gara di quali. Hai visto che partenza ho avuto con la mia KX450? Quella cosa è una bestia! Sono stato in grado di guadagnare un po ‘di fiducia in vista dell’evento principale guidando quella manche dall’inizio alla fine. Nel complesso, ho fatto un altro bel salto e nei primi giri, ho pensato di poter ottenere il secondo posto a un certo punto, e ho pensato che avrei potuto seguire entrambi quei ragazzi primo e secondo, ma mentre la gara è andata avanti il traffico agitato era una vera sfida per trovare corsie di sorpasso sicure ed efficienti, quindi ci siamo accontentati del terzo posto non vedo l’ora di allontanarci da queste piste strette e sezioni di sabbia che abbiamo avuto qui a Houston ed entusiasta di portare lo slancio a Indy “.
Cooper Webb: “It was a close race the whole time and Kenny [Roczen] rode a solid race with not many mistakes. The track was really tricky, easy to over-ride and get impatient. The lappers there at the end was a bummer, I felt like we were going to have a really good battle, and obviously we did, but the lappers were really tough tonight. I hung in there and I pounced on that last lap and made it happen. I’ve really got to give it up to my team, they’re amazing”
Ken Roczen: “Part of me wants to punch a hole in the wall. I have been practicing my patience, so I am going to keep it cool. It was a bummer last lap, he (Wilson) was in front of me and I was screaming and yelling and he said he didn’t hear me. It is very frustrating, but I am going to keep it cool.”
Adam Cianciarulo: “Yeah feels good to get a solid result after an up and down first few races. Track being technical played into my flavor. Being behind Cooper and Ken, it’s cool, it’s two totally different riders. I did my best, for me it’s just a nice steady day ,didn’t feel like I ever rode over my head or rode too hard.”

Colt Nichols: “Eravamo 1-2 e mi è sembrato un altro giorno sulla pista Yamaha in California. Ho cercato di essere paziente e di riprendere dove stava andando più veloce. Christian Craig: “La nostra squadra ha messo lavoro su me e Colt dopo quella gara di qualifica, le partenze sono state imbarazzanti. Quindi siamo usciti 1-2. Volevo che fosse la mia gara, ma Colt ha approfittato di quei lapper, l’ho ripreso, ma ho finito un po ‘di energia. Sono un po’ deluso, ma non è male, condividendo i punti di vantaggio con il mio compagno di squadra che entra a Indy “.
Jett Lawrence: “Inizio terribile, giuro che il mio meccanico sarebbe potuto correre fuori dal cancello più velocemente di me. Stavo guidando un po ‘stretto e trattenevo il respiro prima. Ho dovuto fare quel passaggio su Mosiman, è un po’ fastidioso andare in giro . Amico, è già abbastanza fastidioso vedere una targa rossa. Adesso ne vedrò due! ”
Colt Nichols: “We were 1-2 and it felt like another day at the Yamaha track in California. I tried to be patient and pick up on where he was going faster. That feels good, haven’t won in while. Glad I got my starts back on track, too. I had to take advantage of today, a couple of guys crashed out.”
Christian Craig: “Our team laid into me and Colt after that heat race, the starts were embarrassing. So we got out 1-2. I wanted that to be my race, but Colt took advantage of those lappers, I got him back, but I ran out of a little bit of steam. I’m kinda bummed, but it’s not bad, sharing the points lead with my teammate going into Indy.”
Jett Lawrence: “Terrible start, I swear my mechanic could have ran out of the gate faster than I rode. I was riding a little tight and holding my breath early. I had to make that pass on Mosiman, he’s kinda annoying to get around. Man, it’s annoying enough to see one red plate. Now I’m going to see two!”
ALTRI PILOTI
Justin Barcia: “Mi sentivo bene all’inizio del Main Event. La pista era piuttosto ruvida e malconcia e sono uscito dalla linea un po ‘in ritardo e non ho avuto la migliore partenza ma sono riuscito a risalire fino al quarto posto. Ero dietro il terzo e ho commesso un errore sulla sabbia e sono caduto. Tutto sommato, sarei dovuto salire sul podio ma ci riorganizzeremo e saremo pronti per Indy. Siamo a posto, la moto va benissimo, mi sento bene e la velocità è decisamente lì, devo solo tenerla su due ruote, continuare a inchiodare le partenze e mettermi in una buona posizione per essere in lotta . ”
Eli Tomac: “Nel complesso, la mia giornata è andata bene. Questa mattina sono riuscito a trovare il giusto setting e, di conseguenza, sono riuscito a qualificarmi più veloce in testa allo spettacolo notturno. Non ho ottenuto il salto migliore nella heat e Adam (Cianciarulo) stava guidando bene. Potevo vedere che lo stavo raggiungendo, ma il tempo era scaduto, quindi sapevo che la mia velocità era buona per il main event. Malcolm Stewart: “Credo che dire che H3 non era male, in realtà. Durante la giornata, non abbiamo avuto le migliori qualifiche, ma i tempi sul giro erano proprio lì con i migliori. Dylan Ferrandis: “Era una pista difficile. Niente di veramente folle, ma era difficile fare tutto correttamente e non commettere errori. Justin Barcia: “I felt good going into the Main Event. The track was pretty rough and beat up and I came off the line a little bit late and didn’t get the best of start but I worked my way up to fourth. I was behind third and made a mistake in the sand and went down. All-in-all, I should have been on the podium but we’ll regroup and be ready for Indy. We are in a good spot, the bike feels great, I’m feeling good and the speed is definitely there, I just need to keep it on two wheels, keep nailing the starts and put myself in a good position to be in the fight.”
Eli Tomac: “Overall, my day was alright. This morning I was able to find the right setting and as a result, I was able to qualify fastest heading into the night show. I didn’t get the best jump in the heat race and Adam (Cianciarulo) was riding well. I could see that I was catching him, but just ran out of time, so I knew my speed was good going into the main event. I had a decent jump out the gate in the main event, but that tricky right-handed start made some riders near me bobble and resulted in me getting shuffled back. Again, I was able to charge forward, but the track broke down and was pretty gnarly tonight, so we just had to manage for fifth. We are leaving Houston healthy and just six points down from the leader in fourth. We’ll spend the few days off we have getting ready for Indy.”
Malcolm Stewart: “I guess I’d say H3 was not bad, actually. Throughout the day, we didn’t have the best qualifying, but the lap times were right there with the top guys. For us, it was more about riding smart and picking the right lines. I struggled a little bit in practice, but then in the Heat, I actually rode really well. I just tried to keep that same mentality going into the Main Event. I had Eli (Tomac) right there but made a few mistakes. We ended up sixth and AP (Aaron Plessinger) was right behind me. So hats off to him. He rode excellent. I feel like we made a lot of improvements with the bike and are getting it in the right direction. I’m really excited for Indy. It’s going to be a completely different track, dirt, and everything. I’m really looking forward to that and to see how that goes. But for now, I’m going to go home and watch some football, get a couple of days off, and get ready for the week.”
Dylan Ferrandis: “It was a difficult track. Nothing really crazy, but it was hard to do everything correctly and make no mistakes. We struggled a little bit with the bike and tried some different settings today. We wanted to give it a chance and try some stuff, but it didn’t work. We came back to what we had at the last race, but I just didn’t feel good on the bike today. I was a little tired from the past two races with the lack of training this winter. It was a hard day. In the Main, I was doing what I could to finish in the top 10 but then I crashed alone at the end of the race and lost some places. It was not a good day of racing for me. We’re going to try to rebound at the next race.”
